  1. Willett's idiot brother wasn't necessarily wrong, but how he thought what he did would help his brother and/or the Europe team is beyond me. Didn't care for seeing Danny laughing at the end of his singles match - he had just been caned and contrived to miss several short putts. I wouldn't have been laughing in that situation. Some of the idiotic things the USA fans shouted just as a Europe player was taking a shot, though?? "Cheeseburger" "mashed potatoes".....wtf is that all about? So while I agree that about 85-90% of them were brilliant, there were a significant number of drunken idiots on display as well. The best team won though, of that there can be no argument.
  2. It almost always is Al. Speaking of which, if Garcia putted like he did yesterday in majors he'd have about 12 of them in his back pocket by now!
  3. Carole King - Way Over Yonder
  4. Is that the Skybet offer ABBEY? I've taken that one up on Rory as well.
  5. Love the Ryder Cup - though I think Sky Sports hype it too much - that silly countdown clock till the first tee-off time being a prime example.
  6. Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark - Maid of Orleans
  7. The Beatles - Tomorrow Never Knows
  8. Neil Young and Crazy Horse - Hey Hey My My (Into the Black)
  9. The Beatles - Run For Your Life A sinister song
  10. The Libertines - Boys in the Band
  11. The Jam - Man in the Corner Shop
  12. The Jam - Down In The Tube Station at Midnight
  13. You should have taken some tissues with you then ABBEY.
  14. I went to The Jam exhibition in Liverpool on Saturday. Where has the time gone!? Met Paul Weller's sister Nicky in Tom Hall's Tavern across the road, along with Dennis Munday, who was The Jam's A & R man at Polydor Records. Great day!
  15. The English Beat - Sooner or Later
  16. Cream-Tales of Brave Ulysses
  17. Lostprophets - Better Off Dead
  18. Van Morrison - Jackie Wilson Said
  19. Dexy's Midnight Runners - Show Me
  20. Andreas Johnson - Glorious
  21. Michael Head and the Strands - Queen Matilda (A much underrated genius - see also The Pale Fountains and Shack)
  22. The Kinks - Sitting on my Sofa
  23. Inspired by The Beatles' Doctor Robert (most of Sound Affects was inspired by Revolver in fact). Paul Weller - Now The Night Is Here (From the sublime to the ridiculous - arguably his finest album Sound Affects to arguably his worst, Illumination)
  24. The Spitfires - Spoke Too Soon
  25. Weller would look like the biggest hypocrite ever if they did a full gig - at best I could see them maybe doing a couple of songs, and even then I would imagine there'll be other musicians on stage as well (Noel Gallagher and Steve Craddock being the likeliest). They have marketed this charity gig very cleverly to make it look like he is performing, but with the ability to say "we didn't say he was", should he decide not to. I think the only reason people even think he might be involved is because his sister has organised it.
