When do we declare though? I just don't get the logic at all (there is none).

Totally agree with your second paragraph Baz - spot on. Can't agree with your first one though, we've introduced an unnecessary risk into the proceedings buy giving the weather a chance to intervene. We don't actually know how long we've got to bowl at them.

So far, I've heard Michael Vaughan, Michael Atherton, Sir Ian Botham, David Gower, Michael Holding, Shane Warne and - to a lesser extent - Nasser Hussain all say how bonkers it is to not enforce the follow on. That's good enough for me. I fear this might be a decision that backfires on Alastair Cook.
-
Now why would England need to do that Chaddy? We are already 400 ahead before we even bat again! Not enforcing the follow on is an unbelievable decision and carries much more risk of not winning the game than enforcing it does. Absolutely spot on.

Am I imagining this or has Cook matched The Don's century tally now? If so, that is phenomenal!

Its at Southport I think MCMC1975. C'mon Lanky!!!!

Thanks mate. Also, I didn't realise they had introduced T20 in the Lancs League!? Always followed the Northern League more being a Darwen lad, but I worked with a couple of Lancs League players a few years back (Ian Howarth of East Lancs and Ian Bell of Haslingden) so was kept up to speed on their games.

Looks like the Southport crowd have had a fabulous championship match to watch. Could go either way and Durham have to chase down 250ish on the last day. I noticed Lancs used their sub to bat at eleven. Does this mean Jimmy won't be bowling tomorrow?

Spot on. The first touch and first movement of a top level pro is light years away from what even a decent semi pro can cope with. Many years ago I played against a 50 odd year old massively overweight Peter Osgood. I would have been in my late 20s at the time and a fairly decent amateur player. He made us all look stupid the whole time he was on the park. God only knows how good he was when at his peak!!

Terrible news about Chris Boardman's mum being killed while out cycling in Deeside. RIP.

Awesome performance. In many ways Stenson came as close to a 62 today as Phil did in Round 1 which, under the circumstances, is just incredible. Amazing battle between the pair of them!
