  10. His dad, Alfie, always said he'd become an accomplished player. On a serious note well done to the young Rovers, and to the die hards who braved the cold night to go and watch it.
  11. Broken Arrow - Pixie Lott
  12. Their explanation was that the visuals on the big screen are low res and therefore the players couldn't see the hot spot replay properly and didn't pick up the clear mark on the bottom of the bat in the way that the third umpire would have been able to. Regardless, it was still very poor by both the Aussies there.

  17. Suarez is the perfect centre forward. Whenever I've seen him play 'live' it always surprises me how tall he is. Brilliant in the air and with either foot - he scores goals of all types and has a Dalglish-like awareness of the game around him so brings team mates into play as well. Wonderful player. Just a shame one or two silly incidents have sullied his reputation.
  18. Exactly a year ago I had the pleasure of being in the Camp Nou when Barcelona played Levante and won 5-0, with Messi (3), Neymar Jnr and Suarez (with a spectacular overhead kick) all scoring. I can honestly say that, even as a 50 odd year old, it was one of the best football experiences of my life (along with holding aloft the European Cup in my Rovers shirt - see profile pic on the left!).
  19. Never mind the passed penalty, what about that piece of skill from Neymar Jnr when he flicked the ball between his heels and up and over his back, head, and the opponent, on the run and perfectly into his own path. Just being able to do that standing still is beyond the abilities of most professionals.
