  1. Broken Arrow - Pixie Lott
  2. Their explanation was that the visuals on the big screen are low res and therefore the players couldn't see the hot spot replay properly and didn't pick up the clear mark on the bottom of the bat in the way that the third umpire would have been able to. Regardless, it was still very poor by both the Aussies there.
  3. Lucidity - Tame Impala
  4. I Was Made to Love Magic - Nick Drake
  5. Portishead - Glory Box
  6. Everything But the Girl - Each and Every One
  7. Suarez is the perfect centre forward. Whenever I've seen him play 'live' it always surprises me how tall he is. Brilliant in the air and with either foot - he scores goals of all types and has a Dalglish-like awareness of the game around him so brings team mates into play as well. Wonderful player. Just a shame one or two silly incidents have sullied his reputation.
  8. Exactly a year ago I had the pleasure of being in the Camp Nou when Barcelona played Levante and won 5-0, with Messi (3), Neymar Jnr and Suarez (with a spectacular overhead kick) all scoring. I can honestly say that, even as a 50 odd year old, it was one of the best football experiences of my life (along with holding aloft the European Cup in my Rovers shirt - see profile pic on the left!).
  9. Never mind the passed penalty, what about that piece of skill from Neymar Jnr when he flicked the ball between his heels and up and over his back, head, and the opponent, on the run and perfectly into his own path. Just being able to do that standing still is beyond the abilities of most professionals.
  10. The Style Council - Have You Ever Had it Blue?
  11. Ah, I can get the one in I was pipped on further up this page: Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps) - David Bowie
  12. The Ballad of John and Yoko - The Beatles
  13. Prefab Sprout - One of the Broken
  14. Craig Hignett is the new Hartlepool manager http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35546240
  15. Nick Drake - From the Morning
  16. With you on that but my point was, there were plenty who didn't rate that pair when they first played for us and would have scoffed at the time if you'd predicted they would both win league championship medals, (whether at Rovers or not)
  17. Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps) - David Bowie Ah, we posted at the same time there BC In that case - Gemini Syndrome - Eternity
  18. People would have said the same about Mark Atkins, and possibly Jason Wilcox too.
  19. As someone who has lived in Glasgow for over 20 years I can report that it has only got worse since the referendum. I used to get quite angry when the sports shops on Sauchiehall Street started selling the football shirts of the three teams who had been drawn in England's group for whatever latest tournament Scotland had failed to qualify for. These days I just pity them. The press (particularly the Daily Record) will whip them up into a frenzy before the world cup qualifiers against England. It gets quite nasty at times. (apologies, I know this is s0d all to do with the six nations!)
  20. The Emperor's New Clothes - Sharp
  21. Forest did it in the late 70s too, and then followed it up with two European Cup triumphs. That - for me - is the greatest achievement ever by an English club.
  22. Home Again - Edwyn Collins
  23. I did too, though I'll never forgive him for that early miss in the Ewood game against Celtic, which would have been a tie-changer. I married into a Celtic family and that defeat hurt more than a Dingle one!
  24. I think it was a fairer comparison than you received credit for (in terms of what they were criticised for, which was I think your point, and a fair one). Nonetheless Andy Cole played at the very top level for many years, scoring plenty and contributing in other ways, neither of which Rhodes has done yet, which is why a couple of folk unfairly jumped on you for making a comparison of them Stuart.
  25. I'm not sure what you mean by this, or the relevance of your second sentence to my post? I was simply pointing out that your use of Shearer as an example failed to mention the countless other players we have had since that scored most of our goals and the world didn't end when they left. Shearer possibly wasn't a great example to pick in any event because other players scored plenty while he was here too. Wait until Rhodes has been gone for a few games, and see how the new players work out, before relegating us.
