Mowbray today blaming......the other team having 10 men and us missing Gallagher up front?

I think the worst thing that could have happened was the sending off. They sit on a line of five and nullify the space really.

It’s not like we’ve got Gallagher to put near Armstrong and get balls in the box, so it’s a frustrating balance to get.

Give the guy a break. He clearly thinks playing down a man improves the odds of winning. That’s what he plays Gallagher on the wing. It’s like playing with 10 every week...wicked smart

He set Gally up to fail. Then hooked him. Ridiculous. Awful man management. If you play him in his actual position and he's crap then fair enough, but everyone except TM knows he's no winger and never will be.

All he has to do is play players in their best positions. Elliot wide where he's made himself into the division's leading assist creator and Gally up front to at least make a nuisance of himself with their centre back. That's all. Don't have to worry about him scoring, making a nuisance of himself up front would be enough to occupy them.

Playing players in their best positions. Is that classed as rocket science where he's from or something?!? Infuriating and incompetent. Every bloody time. Bennett will be on for Nyambe at flippin' right back before this game's over, just to top it off, no doubt!

He set him up to fail when he bought him.

He was paying center forward with crosses coming in. Now Mowbray expects him to be Ryan Giggs or David Beckham, skinning defenders and whipping balls into the box. Then again there would be nobody in the box, so ya, I'm not exactly sure what Mowbray expects.

Genuine question, what does Mowbray expect Gallagher to be doing? Honestly , can anymore have a stab at telling me

    Collect a pay check?

No you’ve either not seen or chosen to ignore my previous posts where I say things like I understand your viewpoint etc. So we’ve lost 3 in a row and are playing like crap. Yeah that is relegation form but we could hit good form again in the next game. Things can change quickly in football. I’m being optimistic but I want want to give him the the end of the season. If we are not in the top 6 at the end of the season I’m completely on board with a managerial change.

When was the last time we were in good form?  Our unbeaten run in January wasn’t form, it was luck.

I readily admit that things look rather dismal. Not Sheffield Wednesday, Birmingham, Derby, Notts Forest all big club dismal. But rather dismal.

This whole thread is about Mowbray but the players have a role to play too.

To be honest things have gone rather tits up since we tried to shoehorn Dack back into the system. The goals have come from Nyambe, Elliott, Armstrong combos. We have also had to shoehorn in an almost fit Travis.

We were screaming to get Dack back in and he hasn’t pulled up trees.

We have a good squad. I would give Dack a rest, bring Elliott back,  bin Bennett and give Davenport another shot.

What we need is consistency and balance. We have neither.

I wouldn’t ditch Mowbray yet. I know I am in the minority. We are two consecutive wins from feeling like Jack the Biscuit.

Two more defeats with an unbalanced team and you can add me to the drizzle cake boycott.

It’s not only about the position in the table we havent looked right for months. I’m thinking Dack doesn’t fit our style of play. He’s performed his best play off a target striker that can hold the ball up. Being the playmaker in that space of a more direct team. With Armstrong firmly cemented into the central forward position Dack seems lost. Dack has admitted in the past he prefers Armstrong wide left, now we know why.

Travis has not been the problem and our best performances, albeit against bottom sides, was with Johnson in that role and Rothwell/Holtby in front. Rothwell is much better central than wide but with Dack back he gets shoveled out left.

Also Dolan gave us a dynamic option on the wing that SG simply doesn’t have. Why we went away that I’m not sure.

bottom line is TM has tinkered to the point where no one except maybe Armstrong knows what they’re doing. The players deserve some blame but most of us have seen their abilities so we know the talent is there...it’s the team and man management that’s gone array.

"We’ll judge it at the end of the season. Focus now is to keep getting more points.

First and foremost we have to strive to get 70 points. 75 usually gets you in the play-offs.

We’ve got 17 games to go now so we’ll keep going."

"We only used it because we were playing Barnsley. We were just trying to nullify what they do.

Today we just tried to nullify them. I thought they put the gameplan into action very well but as you say, we fell down on basics."

What happened to dominating the ball and letting the opponent feel the pressure...fucking wanker

    Bingo.

The body language from the players walking out onto the pitch was very poor apart from a couple of them.

    There's something afoot going on.

Yeah a player coming back from long term injury and was utter shite before it was put directly into the line up at the expense of our best defender. No player would be happy but the chap getting the undeserving start

TM has lost the dressing room judging by the temper tantrums shown by players getting subbed, and the lack of effort on the part of some of them.

How can they not?  It’s clear to everyone he’s run out of ideas months ago. How would you feel if you were playing the  left-right back striker position then subbed off because you weren’t doing what you we’re supposed to?

What a fucking shambles. These 2 loaned are fucking shite and our gameplan just consists of kicking it out of play for a Barnsley goal kick.

Why would anyone want to keep him after this?

Would be better off sending to back, and recalling our own young players. Why give them experience when our own players could look this bad

Free kicks into Dack centre forward. Jesus wept.

We should have tried to replace Graham, to help Dack. A centre forward who can win the ball and hold it up

Dack is definitely at his best playing off of a target forward who can hold up play. Being the playmaker in a more direct team.  Not sure our current “style” or “formation” suits him.
