where had mowbray deposited himself, does`nt look like he`s on the bench
Still drawing the players roles on the white board...explaining how no formation works, while the lads just wonder onto the field and Bennett’s selects the side

The thing about picking our starting 11 is we’ve gotten so many players whose best position is the same...then we have other positions with no one suited for it.
Undoubtedly Rothwell, SG or BB will be out wide, but neither of them are naturally wide players.
AA and Dack struggle to play centrally together. We have roughly 8 holding midfielders.
Naymbe might be a better center back than wing back and Douglas probably a better winger than left back.
it’s square pegs in round holes all over the pitch. Like a blind lad setting up the chess board.
And our best center half is in goals

This formation is too recognizable. I think 1 in the back 5 up front and 4 others central as we know wide players are not fancied

Why does Mowbray keep playing and borrowing young inexperienced players from premiership teams is he saying the rovers academy is not producing players of sufficient quality if so why are the club spending millions on it as we finished the Preston game with youth players from Liverpool,Everton, and Man City all playing what's his point ?
I’m certain Carter could have performed as well as Branthwaite did yesterday.

Still can get over our “tactics” yesterday. We actually, purposely, played our 7 million pound center striker at right back! That was an actual decision made, not due to injury or having a man sent off, or trying to see out the last few Minutes..our manager thought, we need a change, then decided that was going to give us the best chance to win. You can’t make that shite up.

Agreed I thought Davenport was doing well. Downing though always impresses, which is worrying considering his age.
I think Douglas issue is, his specialty is crossing from deep. But we got no one that can head it, so kind of kills his best attribute. On the other side we got Nyambe., who can beat a man, but cant cross it.
I’m not against Downing coming on, but think he should have come on for Rothwell, SG or Douglass. We were lacking for ideas in the final third and he could have replaced a wide player and provided more of an impact

I am a big fan of both Holtby and Johnson, but I dont think will change anything. But blow hot and cold. Like Rothwell, take away his couple individual goals of brilliance, hes not existent last few games.
I thought a Davenport was one of the few players settling the ball in the first half. Why he went off at half i don get. Like Naymbe for Elliot, it made no sense. Was SG playing center back there for 5 min?
on another note I cannot stand how timid Douglass is going forward. Many times he has space in front of him. A good attacking defender would put the defense on their heels, but he always holds it up. We’re really quite boring in the attack. Rarely get to the byline and never play penetrating balls. Hell 1/2 the time we get it inside the box then look to play it backwards.
The back four was a complete disaster. Why Branthwait wasn’t subbed for the city kid I don’t get
it’s just all really difficult to watch and looks like a ship without a rutted.

It's never Tony's fault.
Very honest man.
Of course it’s different in training. In training they’re up against others who are out of position and have no idea what they’re doing.

I can only assume this looks sublime in training. Our toothless attack and poor service against our disorganized defense and miscues. Must give both the feeling of quality heading into a match only to be brought back to reality.
-
It’s so poorly organized. From set pieces to the back line to breaking them down in the final third. We can’t even figure out a fucking throw in. It’s like there’s no preparation

Why does Nyambe suddenly just decide to go inside and mark Lenihans man?? Bizarre.
He should punch in on the opposite wing, but should have a winger sitting deeper to influence that play. He was too narrow and SG was no where to be seen.
the defense should easily be able to slide over on a directional ball like that. Really poor.
-
Which goal are we playing too? Hard to tell with our play.
-
For a possession side we sure don’t have much of it today

Fucks sake. We give the ball away with every touch.

Chapman continues his sublime run of form in league 1...why he never got a fair shake I’ll never understand.

It's got to be the last time TM plays Gallagher out wide, Armstrong out of position and Rothwell out of position. Its confusing to everyone and I'm sure TM doesn't really know who should play where.
Im a Mowbray fan but I'm getting a tad tired now.
If he hasn’t figured it out by now what makes you think this is the match to do it.

Surely these two have to be furthest down the line in the midfield queue? When everyone is fit, will they even make the bench?
Only reason I can see that Bennett possibly would be on the bench is that he can play in several positions.
Bennett can’t play any positions well though.

“I'm at a stage now where I have some really tough decisions to make," Mowbray admitted. " Because Elliott Bennett and Corry Evans are now back available”
Lord help us if those two make selection decisions difficult.- 19

Why do you think people arent pulling for the team? Offering praise and criticism alike on an internet messageboard doesnt affect performances or suggest that people are not desperate for the team to win. Lets stop this nonsense.
I think I’m just missing the part of the match where we’re cheering and together in pulling for the lads. Sure we always questioned the play, the manager, or the line up at the pub over a ping before the match. And after critique the play, but in between there was loyal devotion. Now with the only banter on this forum it seems as though it’s only the criticism and negativity... I coulnt help but feel that had we been at the match there would have been more cheers, support and excitement over getting the result.
A message board is never going to replicate that feeling. And in the end I like talking about what a donkey SG is or whether AA is greedy, but miss the parts where we’re all pulling for the lads even if we’re critical of them

Spot on. Happy with a win and you are pro Mowbray and he can do no wrong. It doesn't have to be one way or the other. I see people's reasons for wanting to keep him and ones who want a change. I wouldn't change him now but would I be devastated if he was replaced in the summer? No! The extreme views are frightening.
In the end, like the manager or not...think AA is overrated or not. We should all pull for the lads and the team. If they fail (again) when we’re near the top 6 then ask questions.

I can't imagine he'll say anything else as if he views it back he'll realise that if he claims he didn't think it warranted any action he risks being taken off the Championship lists or demoted down a division for a few weeks.
I’m not sure they’ll move him down...with the quality of officiating at this level they may give him an award for only missing one obvious call.

He's going to have to say he missed it
If he says he saw it and didn’t think it was a foul/penalty/card he’d have to be sacked on the spot
