3rd by a long chalk is taking the mick something rotten. This is a squad that would have to fight & struggle to finish 6th WITH a decent manager. We'll finish 9-12th under Mowbray because he isn't that manager, but to say this team should be looking to finish 3rd, easily, with a decent manager is baffling to me.

A decent manager wouldnt have pissed away 12 million quid on two worthless strikers, rather investing in the areas of need.  So yeah a decent manager and the squad, not this squad, would be 3rd

  2. It was all so poor today.  Both of the first 2 goals we were defending with only travis behind the ball.  Do much space and time for both players 20 yards out.  One a screamer, the other good enough to cause a rebound which we were 2nd best like the rest of the pitch.

I understand the manager trying to go for it, but playing 3 center strikers, 2 free players with a makeshift back 4 is fucking mental.  That white should be reserved for the last 20 min when you need to nick one in.  Fucking pathetic

Can't agree with this post-match comment from TM:

"That said, they are a very good football team, well coached and a well-run club but for long spells we were on top, so we leave frustrated and disappointed."

We were overrun for virtually all of the first half. 2nd half was better but "on top for long spells"---I don't think so.

Only if you consider "on top" as winning.  But without a doubt they were the better side.

You have to manage different personalities differently - not everyone is a motivated self-starter. Some need an arm round the shoulder, some need a boot up the arse.

From the outside looking in, Chapman has been brought in and left to 'prove himself' in the reserves for 6 months, despite our first team screaming out for pace and width. He doesn't even make the bench - some personalities react to that by taking their ball and going home.

He was injured for 2 years.  Couldn't get a sniff at boro, came here to get a chance to prove himself.  Doesnt seem like hes up for it.  Theres always darts if he doesn't want to push on.

This approach whereby we offer less than other Clubs' valuations of their players at the start of a window then sit back desperately hoping no -one else will come in for them and that the selling Club might then take pity on us at the end and sell us said players on the cheap is a recipe for disaster.

So far it's resulted in either missing out on all our main targets and then having to throw last minute telephone numbers about at players we didn't really want for the sake of getting some sort of deal over the line (Brereton Summer 2018) or waiting all window and then having to pay the original asking price anyway (Gallagher 2019).

It also sounds from the interview that the opportunity is there this window to do a bit of wheeler dealing and get a few off the wage bill but we're going to miss out because we're waiting to hear first if Clubs will take pity on us regarding their players. I've no idea why we can't just select players we fancy on ability within our approximate price range and then just get the deal done which removes the risk of missing out on a player you want and frees us up to offload a few.

To listen to the hand wringing from TM every window about how difficult the market is, you wonder how any Club ever manages to buy or sell a player. He makes it sound like it's on a par with curing cancer or something in terms of  difficulty.

TM getting a deal done is as difficult and unlikely as BB finding the back of the net.

  6. Without Dack we have no chance at top 6.  Luckily our unbeaten run has made it unlikely we are to go down. The balance of this campaign needs to be building for a promotion push next year or the year after.

Daventpot, chapman, Buckley, travis galley, bb all need to feature. We need to get them experience and see if they can hack it.

Move on from Grahm, Johnson, Bennett in the janyary window.

    Who signed the useless prick?

This summer, We had 2 keepers lined up, one an experienced one and another a young player.  Also had 2 CB coming in.  Expected to push for playoffs.

TM has to go, as nothing he has promised has materialized.

And this is where we're going to pay the price for Mowbray's lack of transfer activity regarding defenders. It's not going to be pretty with that defense.

No Lenihan, no Cunningham...means we cant play 3 at the back and cant slide Williams out wide, so we are stuck with Bell in the first team for 2 months.  Fuck me!
