I agree with that 100%. What is going on? :)

We have 2 solid left backs now, one of whom is a full international and can cover at center back also, the other in the League 1 team of the year. Many teams would be delighted with that. Yet some on here are saying we should sell Williams for a million. Crazy stuff

Mowbray seems to be very honest with his players, maybe he's told him that Bell is his man at left back next season and with Williams now on the international scene and wanting more caps, maybe Mowbray has agreed he can go.

Fifa? Blimey havent played the game in years. Being 33 years old, I'm abit too old for playing computer games and spent my spare time watching Rovers and football plus spending time with my missus, kids, family and friends.

I would be happy with Lenihan and Mulgrew as the back 2 or part back 3. We didnt go dowm cos of those 2 but of a certain manager and his crap tactics.

I would look at Liam Linsday from Barnsley. Good centre back who fits Mowbray comments the age bracket he looking at

    Fair enough. Thanks for that.

Can you explain what you like so much about him?

Shame but good luck to him if he gets his move.

Cisse impressed against rovers when we played at mk. He glided through the midfield and passed our players with ease at times and got into really good positions, but didnt have a Bradley dack or a danny graham to complete a good move. Plenty of strength and tracked back well. Exactly what rovers should be looking at. Him and adelukum were two of the best players against rovers this season. Adelukum on a free and cisse wont be much being at a team thats going into league 2. Be two good signings who wouldn't cost much.

It would have taken between 5-10 mill per season to keep us as we were in the Prem anyway to underpin wages and stuff and that's something they'll plainly have seen on the books when they took over and something they must have been prepared for, in words at least although god knows what plans were hatched behind the scenes.

Add in I think it was Nick Harris who claimed documents had been seen for a family bank acc containing a cash pile of over 400 million as part of the proof of funds required by the takeover process. No one is telling me they have poured 250 mill of that into a black hole just to support their baby, i'm sorry but #### off just no way as I've said before those kind of losses would've brought them to their knees. Not happening it's all paper accounting, number crunching.

I'd say they are probably about 40+ million out of pocket more than they might have been prepared for or more the Parent company was comfortable running into the club as part of the process they acquired it for. Eye watering enough in itself of course but no way the horror story that gets put about although the real horror will lie in where most of that has gone ?

Unless of course there was something completely different at play from day one but we'll never know.

Well said, but with the funds now in the prem i dont think theyd have had to spend a penny of their own mate, even burnley are spending £15mil on one player these days.

Peterbrough away, Southend at home, Charlton at home, Bradford away

He scored 2 goals and 3 assists last season.

what I find crazy is you dismissing a player who has loads of experiences and knowledge of the championship. his positional play is good, good defensively and can be used of the bench for the last 20 mins to help us keep the lead. I don't know why you are concern about his wage when you don't know how much the contract offer is. surely you got to trust Mowbray and Waggott to do the right thing by the club.

    agree 100% Biz.

2 goals and 3 assists? Far worse than antonson then who you don't want us to sign and played in the same position, even though hes a striker playing out of position, his contribution was far superior to conways. Before his bad injury antonson was scoring for fun and was very effective on the counter side of the game. Conway is passed it, if hes good in the dressing room then pay as you play or newt.

We were talking as at June 2017 being the date of the latest BRFC filed accounts. But I would agree that the current share capital is £147m. However the aforementioned BRFC accounts show bank debt of £12m so unless you are aware of additional bank borrowings of around £90m being taken out in the last 9 months then I cannot go with your£250m figure.

My guess would be that the bank borrowings will still be around £12m (the additional share capital having been pumped in to keep it at that level) and so current total investment will be around £147 + £12 = £159m.

eye, £14.9million per season average. If they weren't so thick (or corrupt) and we were still in the EPL that could have gone on transfers, plus more each season, just from income, they would have had to put next to newt in.

Truth be told the only time he really had a period of sustained form was his first spell with us. Before that he already had gambling problems and injury issues. He didn't make many appearances for Arsenal before coming to Rovers. Obviously goes without saying he was brilliant for us for a couple of years, then it all went downhill again when he moved back down south with Spurs and never recovered. As we saw when he briefly came back here a few years ago he had become a shell of the player he was.

Long term I don't think his mentality would ever have let him get far in football. We were lucky to catch him during a very brief two year period when his head was right, but inevitably it got turned again before too long.

He was on BT Sport couple of years back, said as soon as he left Rovers he started to hate football. Said all he could think of was how he wanted to go back to Blackburn as he loved the club etc. Said the manager and the dressing room as a whole was brilliant with characters like Sav. Said he could have carried on as he had offers and could have earnt millions, but why be greedy, why do something he just didn't enjoy. Came back to Rovers when we were in the championship as thouught it might reignite his career, but said the club wasn't the same family club anymore and didn't enjoy it. Now owns a chain of properties and restaurants.

He's done next to nothing in this league. The next league up is twice as hard to play in. If we really haven't got a pot to pee in we shouldn't be squandering the dosh on a bench warmer.

I agree, i wasn't making a case for keeping him, just agreeing with the club not wanting to pay him as much, if that's is the case.

They must be asking Graham to take a pay cut or they would just activate the extra year extension.

Does that mean that Mowbray thinks he’s being paid too much for the contribution he will make in the coming season or does it mean that there’s not much money in the coffers?

Can't say i blame them, nearly 33 and lets be honest he was a good pro with a good brain for league one, but we are in the championship now, he will only play 90 minutes about 1/4 of the season, if that.

Armstrong has played up front at times under Mowbray and we don't know how either Samuel or Nuttall will performed.

Abraham not for me. we need a target man, I have suggest 4 target man we could look at

Abraham is a very tidy player, he wouldn't come anywhere near the championship he's miles better than that anyway.

Hey Chaddy, when Shearer left Rovers in 1996 my kids cried and I also shed a tear so enough of that cr@p.

Sadly, too many are in football to make a fast buck and I see this happening over Dack.  IMV, his head will be turned, there will be interested clubs (but not at nonsensical fees speculated of £8million upwards) and as such, it would be no surprise to me to see Dack leave in a deal with add ons in the £3 to £4million range.  I think it's 80% certain Dack will leave (think he'll become unsettled)  and if and when he does, I will elaborate further.

You're the only person i know who uses the acronym 'IMV' and it really annoys me, everyone else is IMO but not our merc. Sorry mate, don't know why it just does, merc

He is also one of the best finishers I have seen in quite some time at the club. The boy rarely misses the target.

I think he will surprise quite a few that are doubting him to perform in the Championship. If he cannot perform being our best player, what does that say about the rest of the squad?

He wont be sold - Not this season anyway. The season after once he has proved himself in that league is the one I worry about more but at the same time, the money for him will be huge.

62% (18 goals) of shots on target, joint 6th best in the league with Danny Graham (14 goals), 4 of those above him strikers Grigg 72% (19 goals), Marriott 63% (27 goals), Stefan Payne 68% (11goals) and Craig Davies 66% (11 goals) the other a midfielder Michael Jacobs 67% (12 goals). However the best shots on target ratio in the whole league is Charlie Mulgrew would you believe it, with a whopping 78% (14 goals)

What an absolute plonker that John Claret is. (In the comment section)

I would hope for a 10m transfer budget with an extra 100k a week for wages. That’s 15m this season. Venkys are use to putting that much in.

Be lucky if they put more than £1million in.

  13. All the darwen end lot myself included will just go in jack walker lower, like they do when they are chucked out for big away crowds, they want to be near away fans for banter not sitting at other side of stadium, simple as. Bburn end should get atmosphere going for the first time in 8 years rather than getting darwen end lot in.

I really don't understand the lack of information yet for season tickets for next season. Surely the prices would have been sorted out by now and with so many coming to Ewood tomorrow it would be an ideal time to try and tap into the feel good factor and strike whilst the iron is hot.

Because no matter what anyone thinks, we are still the same old shambles of a club.

Well he practically had no value when we signed him after he was out of contract at a relegated Rotherham. He now has a promotion on his CV having been an ever-present in the lineup. Pretty sure thats nailed on increase in value.

Big test for him is if he can cope in the championship.

Smallwood will be no good in the championship. He's far too slow, players glide past him a lot and once a player gets past him he doesn't track back quick enough. Some quality players in championship who will like playing against him.

  16. To the theme of only fools and horses:

sticks the tactics in his pocket

Mark Venus is his right hand man
Cause if you want the best 'uns
    And you don't ask questions
    Then Tony he's your man

    Where it all comes from
    Is a mystery
He gets Dacky for a bargain
And richie smallwood with no fee
But heres the one thats driving me to smile
That super David Raya with his saving style
tra La la lala - la la la la la (etc)

We've not really got that many songs for individual players which is a shame.

Bennett and Raya could do with their own song.

Dack and Graham could do with better ones!

Bennett has one to the tune of hearbeat - duh duh duh duh duh, duh duh duh duh duh, Elliott, ohhhh Elliott Bennett runs down the wing for me

  18. A team song should be -

1st verse we've conquered all of England, 95 we didn't stop, from the north to the south we won the f***ing lot, Jack Walker and King Kenny, and Shearers golden balls, super atko in the middle, timmy flowers in the goals allez, allez, allez, allez, allez, allez, allez, (to this tune https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMCpSZffNWE).

2nd verse we've conquered all of England, 95 we didn't stop, from the north to the south we won the f***ing lot, then it all changed, but we are all still here, cause we are loyal supporters and we come from Lancashirrrrrrrre, allez, allez, allez, allez, allez, allez, allez, (to this tune https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMCpSZffNWE).
