  1. If waggot had ewt about him, like some sense maybe, then hed look at us now, realise the squads at bare bones, but still within contention, maybe think "these lads could do with a big backing" and make the next two home games £22 for both, and make it a 'buy one get one free, you are rovers, we need you'.

The Charlton game is a tough one. Aren't they unbeaten against top 6 clubs? Deffo no pushover like some fans thought in August.

Will be interesting how we set up formation and team line up wise.

We arent a top 6 club though.

A good point in very difficult conditions.  A blustery wind and a pitch that seemed to allow the ball to bounce higher than one would expect proved difficult for both teams to master.  Pleased to see Joe given a start and he did very well considering his early head injury.  Travis was the driving force in midfield whilst Downing controlled the ball and used it well - a class player always finds time and space that others don't.

I'm not Walton's biggest fan but I thought the lad did very well today.  I thought Bell and JRC did very well as a pairing down the left.  A pity that Holtby looks likely to miss a few weeks due to injury as he will be a real miss.

Ultimately I felt today was a point gained against a side who are improving and who don't lose many at the Riverside.

Similar to us then, dont lose too many at home but drop points regularly against shit teams at home - luton, charlton, wigan, birmingham, huddersfield.

Buckley doesn't even make the bench at the moment so I can't see him starting the next game. TM seems to have realised he isn't ready.

Tosin and Nyambe had unusually poor games today. Lenihan and Bell (!) played well. I haven't looked back to see who the two that abandoned the men for the rebound goal were though.

Walton mixed. I feel he should have done better with the goal, but it's one of those that just happens sometimes. The defence were more culpable. Fabulous save later on from Rudy. Best I've seen him make.

JRC didn't scintillate, but did enough to show he fits into senior football already, unlike Buckley. I look forward to seeing him develop. Worked hard and looked to make things happen. Hard to say what impact the head injury may have had on his mental side of his game today, if any.

Mental side id worry more about how he will adapt to playing centre half or left back.

tend to pick my matches these days, mainly because football has gone to the dogs and i don`t get the buzz much anymore, the game is`nt for the working man these days, deffo don`t enjoy football like i used to

Agree with that. Still have an interest, but away days, home games under the floodlights, match of the day, all the things that used to make football great, they just dont interest me as much. Cricket overtaken football for me now, followed by rugby, football comes 3rd.

The other day you were confidently spouting the club were totally relaxed about FFP !

Face it lad you spout straight off the top of your head like most of us on here then do some u turns not long after. You either get fed spin then have to backtrack or, like most us again it's just your own assumptions.

Yes he was talking nonsense as usual.

Absolutely. Fully understand your reasons.  But where are those fans who work and go away during the summer holidays now? Supporting City no doubt!

They just got out of the habit of going. Once you stop going and then that lasts more than 1 season, you find other things to do and save a shed load of money, only people to blame for that are those who run the club. The only way to get them back is (using your words) to bend over backwards to get them back. If the club doesnt do that, then dont expect an increae in attendances.

Only reason ive gone this season (including tonight) is freebies, these days to think of paying £25-£30 for 1 game plus drinks is crazy. Thats why they need a big initiative with season tickets, similar to huddersfield.

  8. Personally think a solid left back and a defensive mid is where we should stengthen. Nyambe has become our biggest threat going forward, nowhere near the complete article, maybe never be in terms of top level, but at this level teams dont like defending him, and his end product has vastly improved, so get a left back similar, and we'd be a real threat, because we have players in the middle who can do the simple passing, but we would just need a solid DM to cover the centre halves.

Like liverpool their midfield isnt exciting but they have players who do the simple things excellently. We have travis, rothwell and holtby who can do the same at this level, if they play simple football.

Agreed - and as I say, he'd play as a striker on his own. Tony isn't suddenly going 4-4-2 IMO. Rhodes is the least suited striker to being the 'man' up top on his own in the history of football.

That's right, when he was here he had Conway and Marshall on the wings, for the majority of his time here, who were very good for at least a couple of seasons, at times he also had a big man to play off in Gestede, and on occasions Brown (who was good at that role, but just couldn't score). In his first season he also had the brilliant Nuno Gomes as a partner for parts of the season.

Fast forward to now, and we have no wingers, but maybe Gallagher could work in a partnership with him.

I've only just got home and not read anything on this forum yet.

But I just want to say to the sizeable number of Preston "fans" who were booing & jeering Evans as he was being carried off on a stretcher after being treated for nearly 10 mins flat on his back, that you are morons & an embarrassment to yourselves, your families, your club and your town, and you are not welcome at any other football match ever again.

Most i saw were clapping. Minority as usual.

Heard it recently from a guy going 30 years.

That he couldn’t give his season ticket away when he was on holiday so someone could go for  free. Same lad also is usually passionate but is getting bored of going and watching the stuff at ewood.

Anyone else getting “bored” of ewood?

I dont go, but took a free ticket today, i wont be going again.

Wonder if the Lenihan to Sheffield United and our link to Ben Heneghan more than coincidence?

A player  swap plus a large wad of cash (9 - 10 million) to improve the squad might be tempting for TM.

Not sure what sheff utd see in him. Hes been bang average this season for me. Tosin a far better player.

He rightfully went 3 at the back, who would you of taken off?

Rothwell at right back isnt 3 at the back, are you telling me bell was playing as a centre half? If so thats even worse, as i cant see anyone else who would have played as a 3rd centre half.
