  1. Thing about the speed to run in behind its not necessarily top speed that counts its your acceleration. Its why the likes of sterling and traore are a handful cos they can go from 0-60 in the blink of an eye. So whilst grealish and foden don't hang about, you need a sterling (preferably one who can shoot) or a rashford who can just switch it on and go. Even if they're not in form and not scoring, as long as they can sprint they'll drag players around and cause problems.

If we're playing 4 at the back I think you have Mount next to one of rice or Henderson. Kane up top with rashford on the left then 2 from foden  grealish and sancho for the other two slots. If we're playing 3 at the back with wing backs you suddenly have a headache for the attacking spots.

For me 5 at the back works well. Our full backs are class and given the extra security of 3 centre backs it allows them to bomb forwards and provide all the width we need.

I agree, 5 at the back doesn't concern me like it does some people. 3 CBs with rice or Henderson sitting gives our full backs chance to bomb on. If it works it not necessarily 5 at the back because when we're attacking there would be 6 or 7 bombing forward

Bit gutted for him, as it could well have been last chance saloon. Shame

This time round there's only one season until the world cup so I think if he can get a good move in the summer he'll make it to the world cup

is he better than Reece James or Kieran Tripper?

Different. Defensively arguably not but in an attacking sense, definitely. He's certainly someone I would look to bring on if we were struggling to break a team down. Or if we were trying to see a game out bring him on instead of a winger so we have someone who can offer and attacking threat whilst also having a defensive mind.

It's a 26 man squad this time round rather than 23. I think he is worthy of one of those three extra spots just cos he offers something a lot different to the others.

  5. I wouldn't begrudge lingard going but I think I agree that he won't leave a hole in the squad.

Sounds like TAA could miss out which is a big call. I understand him not being first choice but to leave him out the squad is massive. He can offer something different than the others and he's got a he'll of a ball on him. Imagine Kane getting on the end of some of his crosses?

  6. For me

    Pickford

    Tripper Stones Maguire Shaw

    Mount Henderson Foden

    Sancho Kane Grealish

Or if he's going  3 at the back

                         Pickford

             James Maguire Coady

     TAA                                     Chilwell

                Henderson  Mount

    Foden           Kane          Grealish

It all depends on when the ball was played. The Chelsea lad was really motoring onto that ball. I’d be gutted if that was a Rovers goal disallowed.

Fair point. I remember reading an article last season which basically said you can't tell exactly when the ball is played. You can narrow it down to two frames and the ball was played at some point between the two frames. With frame rate of the cameras and say raheem sterling running at full speed the player could have moved just under 1.5 feet so to be analysing millimetres is pointless.

Based on where the froze it I thought it was offside and I've seen tighter decisions given off on many occasions so although the rule is stupid, inconsistency in decisions is worse so don't think they couldn't have disallowed it.

  8. I called it offside from first replay. You could tell from the line at the edge of the box. The offside rule obviously needs altered but in its current state it was offside.

I think that was the result every neutral wanted. I really like Leicester as a club.

Premier league 5 years ago, FA Cup today. That puts them above Tottenham, level with arsenal (although I'd rank 2 fa cups lower) and just a europa league behind Chelsea. Cant think man utd have done much in that time? Big 6? Load of bollocks!

I'm with you. It wasnt that what's his name turned out to be the 4th man per se that was disappointing. He was so unmemorable that I've forgotten his name already so easy to see how he might slip under the radar of people looking for Mr Big. It was the fact that there was nothing memorable at all about that last episode. It was less than a whimper even and it needed something to leave you wondering. Something tantalising or spectacular in itself. You cant say goodbye to a big series in a half hearted manner like that. The end of Keeping Faith, whilst somewhat OTT, was more satisfying

I think that had I been prepared for a more subtle ending it would have been more satisfying but they'd bigged it up for an explosive OH MY GOD, big reavel ending.

  10. Having slept on it for a couple of nights I'm coming round to that ending a bit more. I may rewatch and see what I think. I think the issue was that the audience wasn't prepared for a subtle ending as it had all been geared towards an explosive ending.

I’ve been an avid fan of “ Line Of Duty “ over the years. It started out brilliantly with series 1 and has usually provided some gripping TV. However I thought it had run it’s course at the end of the last series. I haven’t watched the latest series in spite of my wife watching it.

Agree with you on that. They could have made last series the end and it would have gone down as one of the greatest series but they've pushed it one series too far.

This series I thought was a bit predictable so I didn't get as invested in the cliff hanger moments. The Jo Davidson being related to someone was clearly Tommy hunter and the waiting to see who got shot it was obvious that someone had shot Ryan.

I think also people got overly invested in the idea that there was one big person 'H' pulling the strings when it was stated so many times that it was a few rotten apples. People couldn't get 'H' out their head so the reveal was underwhelming.

  12. Some kind fellow had obviously been in the bushes on a route I take quite often and dug out all the discarded poo bags. Too many for him to carry in one go so they were piled high on the side of the path when I went past whilst he did a couple of runs. I don't know why people have so little respect for their local area.

I got caught out having forgot to grab a handful of poo bags before I left. I went back and cleared it up obviously but I felt bad leaving it for just the 10 mins whilst I ran back home.
