Or are they a reflection of the individuals that use them? An idiot in the pub is going to be an idiot everywhere.
This is a large part of it tbh
I like it, I use it a fair bit. I have Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram, I post on rare occasions but largely just to follow others. I used to have snapchat but that was in my single days (I cant actually think of another use for it now). Done tinder and bumble as well. I have whatsapp if you count that as well. I wouldn't say im obsessed but it keeps my hands busy whilst I take a dump.
The problem many people have with it is the majority of people post the best picture of themselves so to others it looks like they are living the perfect life which both breeds and masks a lot of insecurity. If you're using it i think you've got to not read a lot into what's on there otherwise you'll end up in a dark place if that makes sense?
I'd worry about young people growing up with it. That may sound hypocritical from someone who has had some form of social media since the age of 13 but I feel at that time it was in its infancy, it was a time where social media was essentially an extension of your physical interactions rather than this opportunity to create your perfect virtual self and also hide behind the keyboard saying awful awful things.
The other thing is it's amazing the things you can find from the information people put online (I'm probably quite bad tbh). I was on a course about the very subject and the things you can do to find people online are amazing and a bit scary. I do it from time to time, not in a creepy way, just out of curiosity. I pick someone at random and see what I can find out about them. Just an exercise in what's out there (I dont use the information for anything). Cant remember the conversation but my mum made the bold claim that everyone she works with is super careful on social media, within about 5mins I had her head teachers d.o.b, address, graduation date, wedding date, work and education history.

Rovers are now going with a box in midfield (Johnson and Downing deep, Rothwell and Buckley in front) and then Armstrong on the left and Dolan the right. No centre forward. Just as they did in the second half of the game at Millwall in July
Tony's Tactics Truck
So we're playing 4-6-0? Brilliant.

All squads can afford to carry an injury prone risk or two. The benefits can outweigh the costs in these situations. What a squad cannot carry is more than a couple of injury prone players. I would suggest we are carrying far too many, which on top of Covid and long term unfortunate injuries is a real killer
Certainly not 2/3rds of you senior centre backs. Liked the look of Wharton though so hopefully his chance to step up and perform.

If you couldn't imagine Evans getting injured you're completely devoid of any creative talent. The only way to couldnt make it up is if you were a vegetable.

Might as well be shooting from those freekicks, we're not beating a neil warnock team in the air

When Gallagher chases the ball you can tell he has no idea what he's going to do when he gets there.

I've liked the look of Elliot when I've seen him play for liverpool and was genuinely excited when we signed him. Just what we need in attack so I can only assume Tony's brought him in as cover for del.

I'm at a point where I dont aggressively hate the venkys. I accept that we need them to stay afloat and appreciate that they've kept relatively quiet in recent seasons. Itll take a lot before I'm thanking them. Even if we become a mid table PL team again the progress under them would be zero and we've had 10 years of hell to go with it.

As much as we've obviously signed some quality players, I have a niggling worry. On the assumption that players only come on loan if they're going to get game time, we've got Trybull to fit in the midfield 3 with Evans, Travis, Johnson, Rothwell, Rankin-Costello (maybe) and Holtby. Are we going to rotate constantly or drop some on-form players? I'm working on the idea that Dack and Armstrong are in our front 3 somewhere which leaves 1 spot for Elliott, Dolan, Brereton, Gallagher, Rankin-Costello (I haven't worked him out yet), Chapman and perhaps even Bell wide left. Dear God that's verging on too much depth if money for wages is supposed to be tight. Would rather have signed another centre back myself....
As someone said yesterday, fixtures are going to come thick and fast this season so it could we be the team with the biggest squad that goes up.

Cracking window that. Kept our best players and added quality. Another CB as cover would have been perfect but all in all better than anyone could have hoped for.
Inlaws are liverpool fans, rate elliot a lot and from what I've seen of him he looks a decent prospect.
Feels like they're targeting promotion.
-
Dont know much about Trybull or Douglas but three promotions between them is good experience that we've been lacking. Add in one promotion for Ayala plus Kaminski looks solid. We're looking alright
I think that's a very successful window if these two come off. Could have done with another CB for cover but think we can make a decent fist of it this season so long as Tony doesnt try to channel his inner pep.

Its frustrating how many decent right backs we have whilst centre back is so lacking.

It was the tactical change which was most impressive. He tucked the wingbacks in which released the likes of mount and Rashford. Southgate is astute. Had Pep done that in a match and turned the result around the media would be drooling over him...
English managers don't get the same praise as foreign managers who are more exotic.
Didnt big sam say if he was called Sam Allardici he'd be have managed a big club. He might have a point considering Toon fans hated him but loved Rafa.

Some of the players being called up are just getting sympathy caps as far as I’m concerned.
Our central defensive options are as weak as I can remember then being tbh!I like coady as a cb but I do miss the days of Ferdinand and terry.

Think back to the 90s when multiple title winners like Steve Bruce, Steve Bould, Nigel Winterburn couldn’t get a sniff of a cap...
I was still a twinkle in the milkmans eye in the early 90s.

But how much worth can you put on an England cap these days.
Exactly, I remember players like Bentley and warnock being at the top of their game and not getting give a fair shout for england. You used to have to be producing some magical stuff to displace the "golden generation" which was a bit annoying at times but I do think it's now gone too far the other way.
I remember about feb time, there was a talksport segment where they were outraged that foden hadnt been given a cap (despite being a sub/ league cup play for city) 10 years ago, that wouldnt have been a thing.
-
England seem to perpetually be a young team with a great future ahead of them. I remember thinking before the 2014 world cup, we've got a good young squad, give it a couple of years and we'll be a real force' I've had the same thought before every tournament since. Think we're edging closer though but we always seem to be a team full of potential.
