I wouldn't rate Bowyer as Mowbray's equal. Bowyer was a stop gap who went on too long. In that respect, he's equal to Mowbray.

Mowbray apparently delegates training. it's hard to discern what, if any training is being done.

Mowbray delegates set piece training. So it's not his fault we can't defend.

Mowbray delegates player recruitment. He takes the credit when one of the signings turns out great and passes the blame onto others, when the signing turns out not to be very good.

So what's he doing 7 till 7? Bet he's got a cracking score on candy crush.

Cant believe it really. I’m lost for words now. Don’t even feel angry like I usually would be, just fed up, apathetic and resigned to the fact we are in this never ending cycle of nothingness

That's the worst thing about the mowbray era the feeling of nothingness. Win I dont get that excited, lose i dont get angry. I miss the emotion of supporting a football club. At least with kean I had anger.

Tony Mowbray: "I don't sit here in fear fighting for my job" | Lancashire Telegraph

What a load of drivel. The comments of a coward. Trying to blame the fans for upsetting the young lads. Shameful. Try winning some games ya useless lump and then YOU wouldn't get criticised.

But don't worry, we'll get to the Prem next year. Or the year after. Or the year after. Er..one day. Look don't pressure me, you'll upset the kids.

    Mowbray Out.

"I don't sit in here in fear fighting for my job cos I'm mates with the CEO"

Also the young lads do probably see the criticism however the vast majority has been levelled at Mowbray rather than the players so cant see how that would damage their confidence.

What Journey are we on btw? We're going to go into summer probably needing another 4 or 5 signings as we do every summer.

What's worse is I read that whole interview in his dull dejected voice and nearly put myself to sleep.

  4. Been dipping in and out of this thread so apologies if I missed it. But what is the financial benefit of doing this?

I've seen it touted as a £68million  deal but

    1) that's based on £400k per house which seems high as an average for a development

    2) it also assumes the houses are built for free. Even assuming we didnt just sell the land to a developer and built it ourselves you're looking at 25-30% profit  (and that's a high estimate)

    3) we've then got to build this new training centre

So realistically is this deal not going to be well under 20million? Less than 2 years of what the venkys stick into the club to keep it afloat. Or is this an exercise in cutting overheads?

Enjoyed the night stalker and hotel cecil.

Just finishing Hotel Cecil, I find web sleuths both fascinating and insanely irritating. What happened to Morbid is a lesson in not judging a book by its cover.

    Good series though.

How can you not have Sancho or Sterling in the starting 11?

In fairness i havent seen Sancho too much this season so dont know what kind of form he's in. Sterling, I really dont rate for England, he's a good player in a city side where the other 10 players create space and a shed load of chances each game but for England he wont get that space or those chances.

  7. I think keepers you've got to consider McCarthy given the season hes been having (excluding the 9-0) over henderson who's not playing. Also there was a story going round about how Martinez could be eligible for England now, it wont happen but I would love that. Really rate him.

Right back, wan bissaka and trippier would be unlucky to miss out but in who's place. It's a difficult position to chose with the talent available. TAA, I'd be tempted to leave out, not having a great season and I dont think we've got the defence that liverpool had when he was firing.

Centre back I cant see gomez being fit in time and certainly not back to his best so id take coady.

Cant argue with the rest but I dont envy who has to pick the starting 11.

  8. Can only assume his post match comments were along the lines of

"Awful news, Sam's going to be out for a long time but if we're taking a positive out of the game Ryan's hamstring went in the 90th minute. I've got a problem for the next game, benno could cover at right wing or at full back, it's a headache but a nice headache to have. It might be that he covers both and we play with 10"

and playing Bell in front of Williams at home to Oldham to nullify their right bac

Odd mentality isnt it playing two left backs to nullify a right back. The positive option would be to have a winger pining the RB back or exploiting the space in behind when he does push on but good old tony lumps for two defenders instead.
