I’m just playing devils advocate here but what if all of Mowbray’s targets are still available and the reason we’ve not got them over the line yet is because we’re still negotiating.

I mean, the only legit targets I have seen haven’t gone anywhere yet. All these teams signing players Bolton, Wigan etc have signed players that we probably didn’t want.

Not for one minute suggesting we have loads of money but I do think we have money to spend, just trying to do the best deals for the players he wants maybe? I don’t buy into ‘missing out on targets’ this summer. He wants Bauer, Chapman and Armstrong - we’ve known this all summer. And they’ve not gone anywhere! IF they do go somewhere else I’ll get worried but for now I’ll just sit tight and trust the process

    Exactly and well said

You are clearly new to supporting rovers

I’m nearly 60. I was born near the ground and could see it from my bedroom window when I was a kid.

Best game Brighton away on are promotion season in the 1970s. Smithe and Smez the skindheads running along Brighton beach and getting washed away by the waves. Pitch invasion and a fantastic day.

You can have experience and confidence they are not mutually exclusive

He didnt trust Chapman, hence one start in the League and a refusal to see him as anything but an impact sub.

He said post match that he might loan out Nuttall unless we dont add to our current strikeforce.

I’ve no idea on nuttall but if chapman is available and the price is right he will be at rovers. Trust him or not

  4. Mowbray said he has a list of the players he wants. He appears to like to sign men he trusts and fit. On that list appear to be  chapman and  Armstrong  who are both at there respective clubs. One of the fellas on here assures is that Maddison is in the process of being sorted and still at his club. Bauer is still at Charlton.

The reason for no movement could be a case of you want what you want. All of them have not been sold or loaned. Money ( relatively) may not be the issue but getting who you want.

He just might not fancy the fellas Bolton and Wigan have signed for free.

Maybe all are targets are still there.

  5. I may be a lone voice in the wilderness but I have a good feeling about us this year. Mowbray has done the right things by looking after the soldiers that got you there. Football is a team game and while I agree additions up front are required maintaining group dynamics is important and on that front the job done is A+

  6. Stoke must see something I don’t see. 1.5 million possibly but 7 million.More money than sense. Good luck to them. At the end of this season there are going to be one or two really disappointed teams. Stoke, Forest, derby and boro spending a lot of money.

Someone earlier in this thread said there is a correlation between promotion and a good manager and a committed team. Cardiff, Burnley and Huddersfield are examples. Let’s hope we join that group

  7. I’ll say a few names Lowe, akpan, guthrie( injured), Lucas Joao and Emnes late for the game, Duffy scoring own goals for a move. I’m not sure about this being the poorest squad but having been to a lot of games last season these are a group of players and a manager who at last we can have some pride in.

They play for each other and want respect from the supporters.Team work, togetherness and shared values can get you a long way and I feel we have more than enough to avoid relegation and hopefully more.

That is not to say I wouldn’t mind signing Maddison,Armstrong ,Chapman,Gallagher and Kent. Have I missed anyone

    The newly-PL Wolves captain?

McGinn would be decent but if we're also signing McGeouch then it'd be theoretically better as it'd save a bit of 'gelling'. Both tidy players apparently.

I’m no wolves expert but I thought he was out of favour at wolves. However I stand to be corrected.

  9. From today a draw was a fair result. Norwich right back samu was a country mile better than everyone else.

Rovers in terms of the game Travis was our best. In my opinion hardcastles sending off was harsh. Nuttall was ok but if you want first team ok is not good enough. Of the others mols played  well.

On a more general observation Mowbray questions the value of the academy and he may have a point. If we can't produce academy players good enough for league one  at what level are they good enough.

Is it better to pay more in wages for those who don't make the grade at the bigger clubs academy's rather than spend money on our own.

This is a general observation based on one game and is therefore of limited value but as parsonblue has said if we're not going to use them what's the point.
