  1. Thought struck me about how Bolton's financial situation affects the players insurance. Are they still paying this. If a player now suffers a serious injury against Forest or brentford will they be covered. Could be another reason for the players strike. Surely Efl can't insist game is played if above is in play.

Bolton's hotel has ceased taking bookings according to the BBC.

Rumours swirling that Bassini talks have collapsed.

Brentford game provisionally Wednesday May 8th- day of the HMRC hearing. Could be dramatic if HMRC prevail and Bolton then are unable to play that evening...

According to the Bolton news the doors are closed for 48 hours until the Bassini deal is completed. Or longer if not you have to assume. Functions undertaken by Heathcotes continue for the moment

The competition’s 121st final will take place at the LFA’s County Ground in Leyland on Tuesday May 7th, kick-off 7pm.

This will be an all-ticket match, with both clubs allocated 1,000 tickets, which are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions (over-65s & 16 and under).

All Rovers tickets must be purchased in advance of the game from the Ewood Park ticket office (or by calling 01254 372000 or by visiting www.eticketing.co.uk/onerovers).

Tickets will be on sale from 9am on Tuesday April 23rd until 12.30pm on Sunday May 5th in the following phases:

Phase 1 – Rovers season ticket holders who are also 1875 Club members (April 23rd-April 30th)

Phase 2 – Rovers season ticket holders (May 1st-May 5th)

Are both sets of support travelling in a bubble for this?

I went to the game yesterday and enjoyed the occasion. Chorley deserved to win but at 1-0 I saw the worst miss I have ever seen live. All the Stockport player had to do was side foot the ball into a completely empty goal. Be put it over from four yards - incredible.

Chorley have it in their own hands now and have to win their last two matches but National League North aficionados tell me they are two tough ones.

That miss was reminiscent of a Beamo!

Chorley beat Stockport 2-0 yesterday. Billed as a 'promotion decider' it means Chorley are now 4 pts clear of Stockport with 2 games left. Chorley have the superior goal difference too so a win and a draw should do it. Chorley will be promoted to the Conference.

      P W D L F A +/- Pts
    1 Chorley 40 23 9 8 80 38 +42 78
    2 Stockport County 40 22 10 8 72 36 +36 76

Chorley have two games against teams in play off positions Spennymore away tomorrow and Bradford PA at home on Saturday. Stockport have two easier games supposedlyone against Curzon who are safe and one against Nuneaton who are already relegated so this could very well go to the wire. However Stockport have only taken one point in the last nine.

The Final, since the Competition was reintroduced, has always been played as a pre-season game.  Talking to folk at Leyland the other week they said it was planned for August.

7th May 7 pm ko all ticket match

  7. "they came and defended very well and we found it difficult to break them down"

"An organised Rovers defence meant we hardly had a chance on goal"

Above are quotes from report on Tottenham

Don't read that about first eleven for a long time perhaps Johnno should be promoted to first team defensive co ordinator

Not sure a qualifier away in Montenegro is either but...

Depends how much you rate Montenegro reckon Villa would do ok and we are not Fifth best international team but it's a fair point . How much belief the manager has in the youngsters is the question Southgate clearly has belief but these are youngsters who have won a World Cup in their peer group
