It's even more astonishing given his 'if you've got it, spend it' quotes when we signed BB.

Which was a quote completely at odds with one earlier in that window of there was no point spending money for the sake of it if it doesn't improve the team with buying the right player. TM went 180 on that

Doesn't look pretty at Swansea. Seeking redundancies from across the board except players and the manager. Also recently appointed Trevor Birch as chairman. Birch has a reputation for being a financial firefighter and he was involved at Bolton and Portsmouth during their troubles.

Article says employs 369 staff which is over 100 more than us!

Can't agree with you. Watched him recently and he was much better than that. Just as he was against then Premier League Swansea.

Josh also destroyed Stoke in that cup run. Unfortunately when with us was never fit for an extended time. At Bournemouth seems to have managed those hamstring s better. Maybe down to a different training regime.

My god, can people please listen to Mowbray's interview before waying into the Rothwell debate. The interview is 4 minutes.

Personally I thought Mowbray was very prickly about the topic. It was like he thought the interviewer was implying Rothwell should start more. In fairness he didn't refer to him being a child yesterday though, he said he did well, but that he can be like a child sometimes. Overall not a great thing to say and it seems he has some issues with Rothwell. Wouldn't fill me with confidence if I was Rothwell and it is hard to see him ever flourishing under Mowbray. I think we could end up filing Rothwell in the "ones who got away" category.

In general Mowbray came accross as very annoyed in the interview. Even when asked about our goals, he brought it back to the poor defending for their goals. It's just why is he only seeing how poor we are definsivley now? Why let Downing go? He hasn't and isn't doing himself any favours.

What he will need to do to give me hope for next season is to sign a centre half early in the window. Im taking about spending 5 million plus on one. Then he needs to sign and keeper and sell Williams.

There is no chance of spending 5M on a centre half. Be lucky if 1M is spent. It's not part of the pot for the special project which until Bretherton is sold at a future date won't be replenished either with a profit or with a substantial loss on the present form

Leuitwiler was bought primarily to help us get International weekends off,  actually playing only in extreme emergency and not as replacement for any loss of form by Raya. Poor planning.

I agree that publicly shaming players is wrong. There is no positive in doing it,  it is enough to drop players and give them hell in private.

Leutwiler played 118 league games for Shrewsbury between 2014 and 2017 the first season being at league 2 level. Raya has far more experience at championship level. To me Raya's form has deteriorated significantly since he was kicked in the head by Rodriguez. Publicly shaming him is not going to help matters at all. Depending on Raya's confidence levels it could severely impact on him. I hope we are not seeing the start of a Jake Kean situation.

  6. Eight games ago we were 12 points ahead of Rotherham even with yesterday's result we are still 11 points clear. That's with us getting 1 point in 18. Just don't see the gap being overturned .You would have to think Ipswich are gone and with Bolton having not been paid again and Wheaters straight red you would think they are all but gone.

Nuneaton's ground is very much a non league venue, a return to Northampton would be given the Oysten treatment and no-one would go, and the other stadium, the Butt's arena already has 3 teams playing there (Coventry RFU, Coventry United and Coventry Bears Rugby league). Coventry City's owners SISU are constantly suing the council and the Alan Higgs charity over selling their halves of the stadium to Wasps, and it gets thrown out of court each time.

What is a new factor is that I think Wasps are now having to restructure a bit and not pay big wages for top players. A whole load of their big names will leave next season, and apart from one or two coming in, the squad is far less of a dream team of high profile stars.

Nuneaton have plenty of their own problems so don't think Coventry moving to play there will happen

  8. Think a better poll would have been do you think we have made progress in the last two years under TM? Bearing in mind all the previous shite under the V 's I would say yes. It's like trying to turn an oil tanker around it takes a long time to change direction. League position wise we are where we were before Christmas. There was no call for a poll on TM then.

  9. Would be good if Brad Freidel could be persuaded to work with Raya. A good friend made the comment on Tuesday while watching Chorley that Raya needed to be working with an experienced keeper as competition to keep him focused. Clearly that's not Leutwiler
