The bit where he was having a bit of a laugh with Brereton or was there something else? I think I know which bit you mean, but interested to hear your thoughts on it.

Watching his “leaving interview” on ifollow, I got the impression that he genuinely believed in his ability to get back in the team. He got his head down, didn’t make a fuss, and even mentioned “that red card” that gave Travis the green light. Of course, everyone else knew the writing was on the wall with that cracking young footballer just waiting for a run in the side, but the fighting, belligerent and confident spirit is exactly what I would have expected from him. Can’t blame him for wanting to be a part of something he was previously integral to, and if Trav had got suspended and Johnson pulled his hammy then letting him go before the end of the season might not have been too wise. I really do think he was a little underrated here. Yes his game was legs, lungs and bruises and he was no progressive creative force but I think he really took care of the ball well, he rarely played a Bennett style stray pass to the opposition and he didn’t run into Rothwell trouble. A clever footballer who played to his strengths. He’s a fantastic player for the League One level and I hope he finds another team to help drag up. Finally. I really can’t explain how refreshing he was to me when he came in. He was a decent midfielder, he was better than we’d had, and he played with a tireless honesty and commitment that really galvanised supporters and set the tempo for the League One season. He embodied and illustrated the difference between years of mercenary strollers and a team that whilst somewhat limited, would put some pride back into playing for the shirt. Exactly what we needed at the time, and he leaves with my best wishes.

LONG LIVE THE KING
-
Nearly broke my toes cringing at that. About time we retired Conor Mahoney's number.
-
Hear me out on this - but just maybe he has a different opinion than you about what constitutes “good for the club”. ”True fan” bollocks is infantile and ignorant nonsense. Let it be known that I think he talks a fair amount of shite too btw
-
Say what you want about Chadders, but accusing him of not being a true Rovers fan I think would be a bit rich.
-
Not just down to that, of course. I think in League One we struggled moving the ball through and around from midfield due to “the battling crabs” we had in there. Was a necessary evil, but it was successful... And prior to this season we’d concede a goal if someone sneezed in our direction due to Raya being a Dracula and Charlie Mulgrew being a non-jumping donkey. A ball player like Tosin has helped us improve that quick transition for the counters whilst still being a good defender. But that’s a 15m player at least. Sell Evans, release Downing. Spend the wages on a Barry Bannon box to box quarterback. Job done. Easy.
-
Our defence is better, and we counter better. We can’t break teams down, we missed Dack and Holtby has been a poor replacement.
-
Didn’t Pearson just lamp their owner? That’s part of the rumour mill as to why he got the boot isn’t it? Balaji would end up like blummin Trevor Jordache.
-
Think he’d be better up always up top? For me this season shows that we’ve been playing him in a very effective position ??♂️
-
He was 90% of the time anyway King of the cut inside
-
That’s the kind of positivity I like to see @Stuart

Bowyer, Bowyer, Bowyer. WHY??? Might as well have Gary.

Going for Bielsa’s 48 hours in charge record?

When the fun stops. Stop. Careful you.

Exactly. It’s a formality. A local away day with Barnsley friends for me at Oakwell, strengthen the standing of the rugby league side of a rugby league town, during the sport’s darkest hour; and a big fuck you to that pathetic Paul Cunt and all of his tinpot “fans” that cheered Dacky’s career threatening injury whilst trying to build up some kind of pathetic rivalry that none of us gives a flying crap about. As you can tell, I’m pretty gutted for them. I’ll extend more than the sympathy that they did for us when we were relegated against them under Kean and our own ownership nightmare, by just simply saying - I couldn’t give a shiny shite. See you around.
-
I think Carter looks ok. No worse than a young Lenihan, certainly better than what I’ve seen of Magloire ??♂️
-
In fairness, saying Brentford bottled it is stretching the truth. Their recent run put them in dreamland. They’ve still had a fantastic season. Now Forest, THAT’S a bottle job. Arguably Preston too, which is nice.
-
Yup the Forest implosion is sensational. I’d agree with all of that, think most decent managers bar Parker, with THAT squad, finishes above WBA at least. Swansea worth an outside bet surely, will be some achievement.
-
Great record, should be easy to poach. ?
-
A fit and proper test can’t stop ANY owner just saying “taps turned off, sorry”. I really don’t know how you could legislate against that. It’s suspicious with the timing, but again - preventable? Hmmm Forest spectacularly shat the bed and now it’s London vs Wales in the playoffs. Really couldn’t call it. Swansea will be buzzing and Brentford/Fulham pretty deflated. So logic determines that Cardiff go up.
-
Sheer madness. Barnsley survive. Wigan down. BEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD
-
I’m very “Mowbray In” as you know but that is a shite decision, whichever way you look at it.
-
Yeah but 5 places a season, sign me up. Points season to season are arbitrary, you only compete against the other teams, not a number.
