  1. Shame about Downing if true. I'd be quite tempted to ditch Mowbray and offer Downing player manager if he fancied it. Hope for a Lampard effect. Anything worth a shot to get rid of TM who's done IMO.
  2. Just watching the Wycombe game. What's going on with Gareth Ainsworth. Is that his lockdown look?
  3. I disagree. I think Ainsworth would come if approached. That said, I'm not sure I'd want him, and its all irrelevant anyway as Mowbray appears to have a job for life.
  4. No you are right I don't care either. But I'd rather not laugh(publicly) for fear it will bite us on the arse at a later stage
  5. I think I'll refrain from laughing at there possible demise. This could be us at any moment. I'm not sure anyone saw this coming for Wigan.
  6. Think that's the plan JacknOry. But then that can't do the confidence of Fisher and Hilton any good.
  7. He's just done a full season at Burton by all accounts but as to his ability I don't know. Don't watch league 1.
  8. I think first of all we need a new manager. I like Mowbray and the steady job he's done. But he's not done anything more than Bowyer, who was binned off by this stage in his tenure. Even Mowbray has talked about 3year cycles in management, which means he should be done according to his own theory. If we have any aspirations for the Premier league, it's time for a parting of the ways.
  9. Well said Mattyblue. That said, reading it, it makes me wonder whether Jon Mclaughlin was a serious target or just one of a number of options. I'd like to think our new keeper would come with a significant amount of championship experience as a minimum. Which mclaughlin did not have.
  10. You can see why I'm getting confused(or maybe you can't) but one post you say we had to re-sign him and the next you say we had the option, and then included a link that said we had to re-sign him. At the end of the day I actually tried to defend you for once, but your paranoia took over and thought you'd go for me anyway. You're on your own Chaddy. In future I'll just let everyone pick holes in your bullshit and stay out of it. By the way, is it any coincidence that you started saying we need to find out what division we are in before signing players, 24 hours after Nixon started responding to transfer info by saying that exact same thing.
  11. At the risk of supporting Chaddy and his moronic mutterings, I understood the club had to extend Bells contract as the player himself triggered the clause in his contract. I stand to be corrected and I hope I am, as I hate the fact that I'm defending someone who changes his point of view more than Piers Morgan.
  12. Ain't gona happen. Your mate nicko has said mclaughlin will be no1 with a back up keeper in talks.
  13. I'm not sure this is news. Thought it was confirmed some days ago aswell as Tosin.
  14. Agreed. What is it that Dunny says. People need to get real
  15. To be fair I'm not sure we can call it desperation. It sounds like the option was triggered sometime ago by promotion, rather than a lack of funds so we'll make do.
  16. I'm sure you'd omit the relevant ones anyway.
  17. I could have sworn in past windows, Chaddy was raving about Maddison when we were linked. I stand to be corrected and I can't be arsed trailing through to find evidence. Anyway, yes I'd take him in a heartbeat to get Gallagher off the wing.
  18. If we have a sell on fee I don't care where he goes. Have a bidding war for all I care and may the best team win.
  19. Fair enough. I assumed that they would fill out given the size of both clubs.
  20. Don't quite understand this. Replacing a stadium that seats approx 80000 with a 60000 seater ?
  21. Wes foderingham released by Rangers. Sure we were linked with him in the past. Know little about him, but would he be a better bet than mclaughlin. Made nearly 150 apps for Rangers, but not convinced the opposition he faced is any better than league 1
  22. I believe the points per game system is what uefa are recommending or sporting merit as they call it. Your average points per game so far is awarded for your remaining games, and thus all promotion and relegation decided by this. At least I think that's how it works. I'm not saying it's right, I personally think the season should be null and void. And reset when we can safely get back up an running(this also means resetting Bolton on minus 12 points)
  23. Spot on. Best case scenario for anti scouse fans of which I am one, is they are awarded it on points per game. At least we can claim they were handed it despite the season never being completed.
  24. I had this done for my son. Named after Lucas Neill and Matt Jansen.
  25. I thought it was Mark Hughes he was calling over
