It's been interesting to see someone like Diamini force his way into the managers thinking, a player who has not been getting the exposure of the likes of Joseph, Tyjon, Higgins and the like from academy regulars. Presumably, he has impressed in training and caught the managers eye, unlike Gueye who seems to have thrown his toys out of the pram

Really think the return of ORiordan and the impact of Pratt and Litherland, along with Atcheson has lessened the need for a CB and highlights the real issue now is obviously a striker. With the new formation, and Gueye out of favour,I I would personally prefer to sign 2 strikers than another CB. A rwb to challenge Alebiosu and possibly lwb as well we should be covered for this season hopefully

No more injuries by the looks of it, which I suppose is something. To be fair as well, this was a Wednesday team that drew their last game against a good Hull side. Hull beat Boro away tonight so go figure. In the cold light of day this won't be a disaster. Two more games to go before the fa cup when we can hopefully rest a few and also get a new striker in.

Another striker we've been linked with in the past whose contract is up on the summer ? Good goalscoring record

True, it's a gamble, but if only two or three come off then for the recruitment team it's job done as that's the instructions they're working under

Just done a comparison of incomings and outgoings to see how people think we have ended up stronger or not after the summer window. Considering the money spent overall I think it's pretty favourable though I'm sure others will disagree One thing it has certainly done is bring the average age down considerably

They would pretty much need to be a free to be much cheaper ! Seriously though he has proved that quality is available for little or no money with the right recruitment.

Wonder if this guy has been considered for us ? Top scorer in Sweden, plays for the same side Henriksson played for, so could have given a bit of inside info on him. Celtic been linked recently but nothing concrete.

Gudjohnsen out for 5 weeks, Tavares 8 weeks. Morishita, too early but VI said didn't look good. Cantwell and Litherland cramp (apologies to chaddy who was right on that) A striker has to be the priority now over anything else I would say. Maybe have to bite the bullet and bring Gueye back into the fray for a time

Let's be honest, neither Ribeiro nor Pickering are lwb's they haven't the pace or physical attributes to play the position. Hedges is probably the same as well but is the best option of the three at the moment, although I agree that Powell should be challenging that position soon. Wouldn't be surprised to see a lwb come in the window as it looks like Pickering and Hedges could soon be leaving (if Hedges doesn't agree a new contract).

With a game Friday and Monday do you risk Gudjohnsen and potentially make the issue worse ? Judging by VI:s comments about attitude in training and who was absent from the squad on Saturday it's pretty obvious who he was talking about. Do you bring Gueye back in if Gudjohnsen's not fit or risk a youngster again ?

What's also great is that quite a few of the academy prospects are Rovers fans as well, so they hopefully have an even greater desire to do well. Off the top of my head Litherland, Dunn, Higgins and Lister are fans, I'm sure there are probably more. Nothing better than seeing one of your own playing for your club
