2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂

Jackson confirming what Wilsden has said regarding Mafoumbi. Respect to Wisden, he really knows his stuff 👍 There are two ways that Rovers could free up a space in this transfer window. That would be to either sell or release one of the players, which realistically could only happen with Mafoumbi. The striker, signed last summer, is yet to play a minute for the first team and wasn't given a squad number. The other option is to hand Mafoumbi his Championship debut. As the player hasn't yet made his senior debut for any club, making his first appearance in a bad two league would earn him five points. He'd then get an additional 10 points for playing in the Championship, hitting the 15 needed to qualify for a GBE work permit. As Mafoumbi signed more than 12 months ago (last July), he's eligible to convert from an ESC to a GBE permit in this transfer window. So if Rovers want to sign Miyoshi, Moussa Baradji or any other players that don't qualify for a GBE permit, those are their only options. -

Apologies if this has been brought up before but will any of our ESC players convert to GBE any time soon ? Conversion: ESC players can be converted to a full GBE after meeting certain criteria, such as accumulating enough points or playing a specific number of minutes. This conversion frees up the ESC slot for another player. -

Miyoshi on the bench for Bochum today. Not sure if it affects his GBE status unless he comes on ? -

Funny how foreign fans seem to bear no animosity to players leaving their club, wishing them all the best. Yet over here they are regarded somehow as traitors for daring to leave for new challenges. Maybe it's just the British mentality. -

Alexander Henriksson • 16/04/2002 •Another signing that is marked by myself as a dream signing, although I think he is still worth mentioning. Henriksson plays his club football for Swedish top flight side GAIS. During the 2024 Season, Henriksson played 26 games which 19 of them he started. Predominately deployed as the attacking player in the midfield three in GAIS`s 4-3-3 formation. •A parallel can be drawn to Fredrikstad`s current creative output in Morten Bjørlo. The two players, while different share some of the creative and on the ball qualities. •The Ability to win the ball in the final 3rd of the pitch, and driving forward with the ball is something that is prominent in both players, and even more so in Axel Henriksson. A technically prominent midfielder combined with his athleticism and his towering 190cm, makes of a rare mould of a footballer. • Although Axel Henriksson is an attacking midfielder, some of his defensive numbers are also through the roof compared to comparable players - Aerial duels won: 42 (92nd percentile) - Duels won: 117 (77th percentile) - Possesion won in the final 3rd: (89th percentile) • The 22-year-old also had an impressive season attacking wise, as he managed 8 goals and 3 assists from 19 starts in the Allsvenskan for a GAIS team that finished 6th. His numbers in the attacking numbers are as his defensive ones, impressive. - Goals: 8 (100th percentile) - Shots on target: 20 (100th percentile) - Touches in opposition box: 98 (95th percentile) • One of Henriksson`s abilities that impressed me the most is his positioning. In the instanced i have watched him, he always seems to be in the right spot, which speaks of a high footballing IQ. As previously mentioned, I find Henriksson to be a unique mould of footballer, and a mould of attacking midfielder you don't see very often. •This is made clear by the interest in him. At the time of writing, Polish club Rakov Czestochowa holds a strong interest in the player who`s contract runs out at the end of 2026, and as we fast approach the transfer window, I am sure there will be a lot of intrest in the player. As previously stated, i view Axel Henriksson as a dream signing, and aknowledge that should he leave GAIS in janaury he will most likely move to a bigger team. •With a market value of 1,5 million euros, I do not think a deal can be reached for under 2 million Euros which would Smash Fredrikstad's transfer record. -

Hasn't Elliott said Baradji won't be coming now as all our eSC slots have been taken up with Axel ? Only way it can happen is if Mafoumbi is moved on -

Just a little bit concerning that nearly all the Hibs fans comments on Miller say he was much better as a RCB in a back three than he was at RB. Guess we'll find out soon enough -

"However, he is a replaceable player. This isn’t a Sammie Szmodics moment" Correct, there isn't a single player in this current Rovers side that isn't replaceable imo. We even managed without Szmodics goals when everyone (including myself) thought we would struggle. Travis and Tronstad are both good players but limited in their abilities and hopefully the new midfield players will bring a different dynamic to the team. For what it's worth, I have only ever seen one irreplaceable player in my time watching Rovers and that of course was Shearer, simply because there was nobody better at the time. -

Axel Henriksson Set for Blackburn Move as Swedish Midfielder Undergoes Medical Blackburn Rovers are set to complete the signing of Axel Henriksson, with the Swedish midfielder currently undergoing a medical ahead of a permanent move, according to reporting from Daniel Kristoffersson. Henriksson, 23, has been a standout in the Allsvenskan last season and is expected to join Rovers in what would be his first move outside of Sweden. The deal marks the latest chapter in a career shaped by both misfortune and resilience and one that could align well with the demands of the Championship. A right-sided central midfielder in a 4-3-3 system, Henriksson profiles as a traditional box-to-box engine. He scored eight goals in Sweden’s top flight last season, frequently arriving late into the box and contributing in the final third. But his attacking output is only one part of a broader game defined by aggression, intensity, and tireless defensive work. “He’s always taking the offensive runs, always a threat but also a ball-winner who never hesitates to slide in,” a fan of GAIS told RoversXtra. “He was the most booked player in the league last season, which says a lot about how involved he is.” Though his disciplinary record is a consideration, Henriksson’s leadership qualities and personality have made him an integral figure in one of Swedish football’s most remarkable recent rises. After being released by BK Häcken in 2022, following an ACL injury and a change in the club’s coaching staff, he joined a third-tier side newly relegated from Superettan. Three years later, they are one of the most stable teams in the Allsvenskan. “He’s been central to our back-to-back promotions and our survival. Without him, we wouldn’t be where we are,” the same source said. “He’s smart, honest, vocal, loved by us, and often hated by opponents for exactly the same reasons.” The expectation within Rovers is that Henriksson's physical attributes and work rate will translate well to the Championship. Though still young, he arrives with significant senior experience and a track record of influencing games on both ends of the pitch. Assuming no late complications, Henriksson will become Blackburn’s latest summer addition, and one whose arrival could add intensity and balance to a midfield already in transition. -

Got a hell of a goalscoring record for a midfield player. 25 goals in 63 games ? Be delighted to get a striker with anything like those stats. -
