  1. Nixon reporting Rovers "were up to something" yesterday. Vague as ever but you never know
  2. Charlie Goode close to signing for Brentford according to SSN.
  3. If the current speculation about these linked players is true, there is no way they would be affordable without selling an asset first. Looking at transfer market, Hofmann is valued at 1.35m, Lindsay at 1.53m, Phillips at 540 k and Cunningham at 1.44m. I realise they are ball park figures but it gives an idea. Then maybe a couple of loans. So it seems somebody would have to go if we were to bring in these players, the question is who? Armstrongs fee would certainly cover it, but do you let a guarantee of 15 goals a season leave for someone who didn't really cut it at Brentford. Also, he seems similar to Gallagher and Brereton in that he is a tall target man type, so maybe Mowbray is looking to move on one of those two if the right offer came in. It's a dilemma but one which Rovers need to solve and quickly.
  4. Better stuff from Lindsay, though this was at Barnsley
  5. Story on rovers tomorrow from nicko. Probably the Lawrence link but who knows
  6. http://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/1042806302?-11198:839 Seeing not a lot happening arm, just a view from lancs live of potential signings. Also saying Whiteman Not held talks
  7. Come on TM, time to pull your finger out. Let's get things moving before it's too late.
  8. Anybody mentioned Mike van der Hoorn or Chey Dunkley as possible incomings? Both on frees and coming off back of great seasons in the championship. Just throwing names out there but 2 good options imo
  9. Not a cat in hells chance Rovers could sign him even if we had the money. He'll have his choice of any number of top flight teams. Let's get realistic
  10. http://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/1042378544?-11198:839 Another day another keeper link
  11. Yeah, that was the game. Rovers did batter them, hit the woodwork 4 times.! Went in front through Jansen at half time. Didn't watch all 2nd half but Rovers were easily better side, traversty of a result.
  12. Couldn't have been more wrong about Jon Mclaughlin
  13. It's the full game I think. Certainly be watching! Edit. Or maybe not after seeing that!
  14. Off topic I know but Rovers v Man City from 2000 on Sky Sports at 12 today Classic match apparently, anybody remember the score?

  16. I believe only 9 clubs out of the 24 in the championship have so far made a signing. You said it yourself, only 16 days since the season finished. We are not alone in this.
  17. Never known a time when so many decent players were available on frees. They are definitely there if TM gets it right this time (fingers crossed, tin hat ready)
  18. How about Brad Smith, released by Bournemouth. Didn't we nearly sign him on loan under Coyle before they came in for him last minute? 2:57 pm · 5 Aug 2020·Twitter for Android Rich Sharpe @richsharpe89 · 2h Replying to @matthewwalmsley correct. And there were noises about something in January before he went to Cardiff. A possibility.
  19. Rich Sharpe thinks we tried for Brad Smith in January but ended up going to Cardiff so could have legs
  20. Northampton Town We are pleased to announce the signing of goalkeeper Jonathan Mitchell on a season-long loan from Derby County. Welcome to the Cobblers, Jonathan! Northampton sign keeper. Could be sign Cornell about to move on
  21. So do I. I was just talking about comparing them as a midfield pairing, and I would have Johnson over the other 2.
  22. No, having watched all 4 players I would much rather have Travis and Johnson than the other 2. Why, do you disagree? Don't need stats to tell me that
  23. Who said "there are lies, damn lies and statistics"? Prefer to believe what I see with my own eyes tbh.
  24. Just a thought, but both Wharton and Goode played in a defence which played with a back 3, with Wharton on the left of the 3. Just wondering how difficult it is to adapt to playing in a back 4 from a back 3?
