  1. With a game Friday and Monday do you risk Gudjohnsen and potentially make the issue worse ? Judging by VI:s comments about attitude in training and who was absent from the squad on Saturday it's pretty obvious who he was talking about. Do you bring Gueye back in if Gudjohnsen's not fit or risk a youngster again ?
  2. What's also great is that quite a few of the academy prospects are Rovers fans as well, so they hopefully have an even greater desire to do well. Off the top of my head Litherland, Dunn, Higgins and Lister are fans, I'm sure there are probably more. Nothing better than seeing one of your own playing for your club
  3. How long has it been now since there was even a sniff of a transfer rumour? Things unbelievably quiet on social media
  4. Gestede. "We want 3/4 players in January" and before FAcup tie at Hull https://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/1297971774?-11198:839
  5. Calling it (fairly) early, Baradji is a player ! Beginning to see why they persevered with his signing. Brilliant 3 points which have to admit wasn't confident about when I saw the team sheet. Have to say for somebody making their debut, playing out of position, Litherland was fantastic. My MOM though was Miller who was kicked, kneed, nearly knocked out, but just kept getting up and got stuck in 💙🤍 Very happy today
  6. So who's playing alongside Tronstad then ?
  7. Interesting comments from VI re transfers and "signs looking good " re incomings. Or am I just being overly optimistic
  8. Thanks for that, knew I'd left a few out! It does look like a good group and even if only a few of those progress to the first team it would be a proud moment for the academy
  9. Just thought I'd make a list of what are regarded as promising academy players to see if I could make a future Rovers 1st team 11. Pie in the sky I know Any others come to mind that people like arbito have watched ? Honor Pitt. Litherland. Eze. Pates Dunn. Vare Sergeant. Higgins. Powell Joseph
  10. Pears/Toth Miller. McLoughlin. Pratt TGH. Tronstad Baradji. Hedges Cantwell Gudjohnsen. Ohashi
  11. I mentioned Pickering as lcb previously but was surprised when I realised he was smaller than I imagined compared to Ribeiro. The best option at the moment for that position is still Pratt and I would imagine he'll be back in on Saturday, maybe having just been given a rest by Ismael at the weekend. The problem at wing backs is going to be the main issue for the next few weeks. Presume Hedges will be back, and I imagine TGH will play rwb, if that's the formation we go with. Hopefully Tronstad will be up to speed and I think it's time for Baradji to start alongside him. Admittedly not seen a whole lot of him, but what I have seen I like.
  12. Powell has been playing well in the u21s, isn't it about time he became a serious option at lwb? Realise Hedges will come back in (hopefully next week), but surely he had just as much to offer, if not more, than De Neve
  13. Rovers win 2+1 with (ironically) a 97th minute winner from Harvey Higgins Rovers other scorer Joseph, who caused the Saints defence plenty of problems with his powerful running and physicality. Other mentions to Frank Vare , but to me even though he only came on for the last 15 mins or so, Higgins really impressed against a tiring defence who were down to 10 men for the last 25 mins or so. Apart from his goal Higgins could easily have notched another couple. Another big lad but better technically than Joseph I would say on this showing
  14. Good luck to the lads tonight, looks like some top prospects will be on display.
  15. So the question is who replaces him at rwb or do we revert to a back 4 ? Either way, I think the only alternative is TGH, really can't think of anyone else tbh. Maybe Mori could play rwb if we stick to 3 at the back but her be a bit wasted there to me. If it has to be TGH at least that frees up a space in midfield for Baradji to come in if he's 100% match fit now ( which is unlikely just yet) Whatever, it confirms we need to look at rwb options n January
  16. I make that 3 on trial now ? Personally don't have a problem with it, nothing ventured nothing gained. Let's see how they shape up
  17. Not sure where to post this or if it's already been mentioned, but we appear to be finally stepping up the search for a CEO. Blackburn to step up chief exec search 29 minutes ago By Alan Nixon Blackburn Rovers are to revive their search for a new chief executive. The post has been left vacant for months after an initial round of short listing failed to find a suitable candidate. The position was being reduced to little more than a stadium manager which put off many football figures. However Rovers now realise they need an extra body behind the scenes with more adverse publicity recently over the postponement of a second game. Blackburn have been running with a reduced management team since Steve Waggott moved out but now they will renew the chase for an extra pair of hands.
  18. He's got a good leap on him as well. I think we saw glimpses last night of why we were prepared to sign him with his injury. Short term pain for long term gain hopefully. It's also why I find it baffling that people write players off after seeing them play for 10 mins.
  19. Pouring down in Clitheroe now. Looks like we may not have seen the end of it after all🌨️🌨️☔☔
  20. Palace to sell Wharton at end of season Yesterday Exclusive By Alan Nixon Crystal Palace will sell midfield star Adam Wharton at the end of the season if a multi-million bid comes in. The England hopeful is on the wanted lists at Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City and has foreign interest as well. Palace are now preparing to cash in if those giants come forward with the money - and the funds would help them. A huge bid would give Palace extra to offer striker Jean-Philippe Mateta whose deal is running out. As revealed first here, the player and club are well apart in negotiations. Palace were looking at giving Wharton a new deal with a fixed price in that contract. But that will not stop the likely exit of the young Eagle. Blackburn Rovers will be watching developments as they are due a slice of the profit after selling him for £18 million plus a possible £4 million in extras. Wharton will be open to a move that includes Champions League football as that seems the next step in his meteoric career.
