  3. That’s a real shock. He’s the same age as me and I followed his career closely, wishing I had his talent and skill to be able to play for my beloved Rovers. RIP Meccy.

  20. Boring............. Time for a change guys. England v Pakistan at Old Trafford on Wednesday. This should be a much sterner test for England than the Windies. England have named the same 14 man squad as the last test with Zak Crawley, Sam Curran and Mark Wood looking to push for a start. Unfortunately, it looks at the moment that there is rain likely to affect the first day play, so we may have to win it in 4 days rather than 5.
  21. David Bowie - The Man Who Sold The World
  22. My earliest memory of attending Ewood was the FA Youth Cup Final of 1959. My grandad was a steward in the Riverside stand and got me and my dad in and we sat close to the front towards the Darwen End. I don’t remember the game much, just the atmosphere of 28,000 + supporters and cheering the players with the cup at the end. Reading about the game in later years, Moore and Hurst for West Ham and them missing a pen and Newton, Pickering and England for us and winning it in extra time made me realise that this was the defining moment I became a Rovers supporter, and still am, 60 years on. It’s been one hell of a roller coaster ride.
