  1. Yep, I’d probably have been pissed off too mate. But Dembele, Wallace and a couple more would’ve appeased me.
  2. Nail on head. Its true that Waggott had his hands tied at Christmas. I think, by his admission he’d have taken the cash for any one of those three and they did have deals lined up for some good players. But this should NEVER have got to the 6 months point. We don’t have the finances to let out better players go for free. If they (or anyone) isn’t going to sign they should have been sold the summer before last or last summer at the very latest.
  3. Agreements were apparently in place for those two plus another two and wouldn’t have cost us a penny with the fee plus freed wages for Joe. Suhail stopped the sale. That was the end of that.
  4. He said as clear as day, “If they don’t want to sign I’ll sell them all at Christmas” this is what we should have done with at least 1 or 2. Though we really shouldn’t have been in that situation.
  5. Of course we can do without him. Players come and players go. The budget is the budget. Those cribbing about us not just paying him what he wants have obviously never run a business. BUT the club need to get tougher with these players. There should be full reviews done at the ‘2yrs’ point. At that point you’ll get a feeling as to how it’s gonna go. I’d sell anyone who has no intention of extending at that point and allow any who are unsure to drift towards that 1yr mark. But no one would be going into the last year for me. I’d have them sold in that summer and have a recruitment plan geared to replace with the cash from sales.
  6. Haha - I’m glad you said that first! I agree, he has his hands tied a lot by Suhail (Venkys). I know from the conversation I had with him after the Sheff U game that he’d have happily sold all three at Christmas and wasn’t allowed to.
  7. Losing three players is not great. I know for a fact that both Rothwell and Lenihan have got deals between 2.5x and 4x what we can pay. It’s really as simple as that - Money! What really should lead to the club being hauled over the coals is why this wasn’t sorted last summer. A simple “Darragh, we’re offering X, is that enough for you or not?” Darragh - “No” Us - “Right, tell your agent to find you another club please” SOLD!! Not selling JR at Christmas was sacrilege. SW and TM had four players including Siriki Dembele and Jed Wallace lined up on long deals which would’ve cost net Zero against the sale, only for Suhail (Venkys) to refuse the sale.
  8. The one who is REALLY struggling with the high press is Dacky!! 👀🤐
  9. Phillips, Wharton and Leonard are the ‘chosen ones’ now…lots of excitement about these lads in particular and the crop coming through but none expected to break through this season! Not to say one or two won’t surprise us this season, but not expected. So we need some players.
  10. No rules broken but everything planned meticulously and delivered by the coaches…
  11. I can tell you 100% that he’s been in COMPLETE charge of everything all week. Don’t sweat the pics 😊
  12. Agent is involved but Usually comes down to ambition and money….If he can get a club in the highest leagues of Spain, Italy or England on 4x the money then why would he stay?
  13. Lovely noises coming from Brockhall about the new manager. “Like a breath of fresh air”…he’s making an impression. All positive 🤞🏽
  14. There’s a point in here but I don’t think it’s as clear cut as you suggest. Its true that the very best young players, those considered as the Crown Jewels are rarely loaned out. Buckley was one and I wouldn’t be surprised if Ash Phillips is kept wrapped in cotton wool too. They have the ability and the mentality at a young age. But, In the case of the other 98% the loan market is a very good way to increase a players exposure to competitive mens football, test their mental strength and give them time to develop physically if they’re not quite good enough for our first team. Scott Wharton is proof that it can work.
  15. The wage structure in any business is imperative for longevity and consistency. I don’t thing anyone in here knows what that is and / or how sensible it is. In reference to Lenihan it would seem from most of the reports that he was happy with the money? im keen to see if opening up new markets makes our structure quite effective.
  16. I think SG can get 15+ a season playing as a central striker in the right team. I’d love to know who we’re looking at. Wouldn’t surprise me if GB and JDT not being at training was more to do with them meeting players and agents than work permit issues. I can’t see this lot hanging about. The whole “we’ll look inside first” thing is a way of keeping current players happy. They’ll already know who the good ones are, who needs replacing asap and where the initial gaps in the squad are! GB was quick to tell us that they don’t have to wait….🤞🏽🔥🔥
  17. I’m no Waggott sympathiser but when you look at GB’s remit and the six areas he’s taken, Waggott had responsibility for these and all of the commercial stuff before. It’s completely normal for businesses to hire specialist recruitment companies. Provide them with a brief and booom! - I’m not complaining 👍🏼
  18. Just a recruitment company, instructed by SW to find a DoF 👍🏼
  19. I wouldn’t be selling Dolan or anyone we don’t need to until they’ve played for the new regime! Who knows what we might have to unearth with a young vibrant manager at the helm.
  20. I think the the major positive in a move for Cantwell is GB’s potential relationship and influence on him. These are the types of signings you have to get right. That bit of magic to get them going again and suddenly you are overachieving with a player you could never have dreamt of affording!
