Mowbray dropped Raya for Leutweiller, for a while. Raya is going to Arsenal, Leutweiller is playing at Fleetwood.
Actually he was on the bench today.
Raya going to Arsenal right now is debatable.

Yes we had positives. But how is he not concerned about the continuation of dreadful performances in our defence?

Part of me wish relieved we lost today because at least it will serve as a kick up the backside to Mowbray, Waggott and the owners to stop faffing about in the transfer market.
We couldn't see the window close with no defensive signings which I think would have been a real possibility.
We need a LB and 2 CB's sharpish. It's as simple as that.

Maybe a defeat is what is needed to kick the transfer efforts in the backside.

Defence just stood there and watched.
I thought spectators weren't allowed in the stadium. ?

Can you be more specific?
I think the manager's secondary targets are being snapped up by other clubs whilst Mowbray is dillydallying around with higher targets who we cannot afford in terms of wages and agents fees.

Rovers indecision in approaching players is costing us signings.
We think we can do better than what is immediately available and our stance in such matters will likely leave us with nothing. Pathetic.

If we don't sign any new players or new contracts to players by next summer our team will consist of...
Jordan Eastham, Thomas Kaminski, Hayden Carter, Scott Wharton, Darragh Lenihan, John Buckley, Tyrhys Dolan, Jacob Davenport, Lewis Travis, Adam Armstrong, Ben Brereton and Sam Gallagher.
That is 12 players out of our current crop of 25 1st team players including Williams and Mulgrew. A couple have the option of 12 month extensions.
Ryan Nyambe, Harry Chapman, Bradley Dack, Corry Evans, Lewis Holtby, Joe Rankin-Costello and Joe Rothwell all gone through expiration if contract.
Looking at the current situation you can't help but wonder whether this is a structured wind-down similar to that experienced by Wigan and Bolton during those clubs economic struggles.

Such a bizarre attitude.
The way he talks about players makes them seem like expendable and unimportant elements.
I dare say the players who were stopped from joining due to third parties are watching that video and sighing relief that they didn't sign.
Fine, pass up on a target due to high demands of an agent. But don't boast about it during an interview.
This really does make me wonder regards negotiations with Dack and Nyambe.

from reading the article from Jaquob Crooke seems like Rovers want to continue to bring through more and more youth.
We need 4 or 5 signings coming in. we need first choice centre back and left back coming in. Plus a back up keeper, back centre back to replace Williams plus I wouldn't a right back to challenge Nyambe for the right back slot.
I think you think we need a winger or centre midfielder, is that correct?
we want to sign players who want to play here and develop here not just signing for money cos we will pay the most.
agents have to be more realistic and you even had Warnock saying that.
We do need a winger. Maybe even two.
We have Bennett and that is it?
Gallagher and Brereton might be played on the wing but that isn't their position. Meanwhile we have lost Samuel and Graham so those striker/wingers are going to be stretched more than ever.
In terms of defensive midfielders we have Evans and Travis. Shoving others in there is risky at best.
For me, we need a LB, 2x CBs, backup keeper, a CDM and a winger at the very least.
We can maybe make do without a CDM. So as I said, 5 at least.

Now this very much is the Mowbray roadshow. Nobody outside the ownership ( who although no doubt still cackhanded) have backed him to the hilt.
Nobody to throw under the bus now it's his squad 100%.
Well there are obviously players that predate his arrival. But clearly Mowbray wanted to maintain them by giving them extended contracts.
His choice. His mistake if he doesn't fancy them anymore.

All of our 1st team players were signed by Mowbray to the contracts they are currently on.
25 1st team players.
12 progressed out of our academy or straight into our team via another academy.
3 came from Premier League teams.
2 came with excessive transfer fees both signed under Mowbray.
10 came from the Championship or League One.
If Mowbray wants to assign blame for the wages his players are on and where they came from. He need not look any further than a mirror.

"They've got to be right" - Blackburn Rovers CEO Steve Waggott explains transfer market situation
"I would think we definitely need a couple in. At least two. In an ideal world, three stroke four, that would be good."
With Mulgrew and Williams expected to depart. That is 8 1st team players departing without replacement.
Waggott speaks of potentially bringing in two. Pathetic.
5 HAS TO BE the bare minimum.

So helping Fleetwood meet their FFP regulations has a higher priority than us meeting ours, does it? Our club needs to get its priorities straight.
Save 10% wages for a player we are never going to play until his would be contract with us expires or pay him 100% his wages just to sit around at the club trashing the morale of the club?
Which would you do?

Assuming we are getting his wages off the books, could leave some more wiggle room for Ayala?
Zero chance.
His wage demands make Mulgrew look relatively cheap.

Hopefully, nothing. Meet Fleetwood's new Footballing consultant on getting out of League 1.
We will be covering a substantial chunk of his wages so Fleetwood can meet FFP regulations.

It's no surprise at all it's another year of 'transition' whilst we see how the kids do. It's another year of set in stone jusifiable excuses for a middling finish. Another year of value and experience into the squad.
Also another years no pressure wages for everyone, another year of mammoth funding adding to the owners tab and another year of not trying to get out of this league.
Easy street.
More a case of settling in young impressive players to prove their talent and sell them to bring in loans and free's.
34 minutes ago, Fraserkirky said:Fine with that, we have Buckley. If we are adding another midfielder it shouldn’t be a fancy dan it should be an animal like Morsy.
Who else they got heading out on loan?
Buckley and Garner are nothing alike. Frankly a bizarre comparison.
I get the training up our own talent argument. But we don't have anything of the talent of Garner.

We had the chance to loan one of the best young midfield talents on reduced wages with no obligations on match time and turned him down.
Apparently Garner is off to Huddersfield.
The lack of ambition being shown by the club right now is nothing short of tragic.

Good player. Poor character by the looks of it.
We have also made an offer for James Garner as well. As I have been saying for weeks now, we do need a defensive midfield reinforcement to close down the opposition.
