Not that Im aware of, the problems with Great Harwood are certered around the Showground. It all went to pot after a fire at "Monroes" which decimated their changing rooms meaning they had to fulfil the remainder of their fixtures elsewhere (effectively losing money every time they played).
They couldnt get any support from the FA as they didnt have the required lease on the ground and it would have cost circa £1m to buy the land and build dressing rooms.
100% accurate there Stu. I am reliably told that Harwood still hope to reenter at some point when they can get facilities. I would not be surprised at all if whilst the club is no longer playing football, that technically the business itself still exists in limbo and Rovers would still be liable to pay any monies to it, which in turn could potentially help the club restart.
A network of lower level local clubs such as Harwood, and in the past Accy Stanley are still important for the development of local players, many players going thru their schoolboy teams and training days will eventually end up at Rovers academy.

Ressies playing Wednesday
Against Bolton. I can see Big Fat Sam being spiteful enough to get a young player to knobble him, so potentially not a good move.
-
The only logic I can see in playing Niell is to show West Ham that we are willing to keep him if they don't provide the cash. Sensible move if we really are in the position where we simply cannot afford a replacement without adequate funds.
If he got injured we would be in trougble though.
More worrying would be the negative effect on the rest of the team, as I'm sure he's going to get crucified by the fans if he plays tomorrow.

So in answer to my previous question and assuming Philipl is correct, this can only have one meaning; that MH actually as things stand has NO MONEY AT ALL to spend and he needs more than WHam are offering for Neill
Its probably because the players he wants are not available in the transfer window, so he would rather keep Neill until the close season.
-
Curbishley speaking to SSN on Neill - "I don't know that, out of contract soon, and will be looked at by a few people"
Seemed a bit evasive, so chances are somethings happening.
-
acc to Sky Sports, the hammers have agreed a fee for Lauren. Perhaps the Neill deal has hit a snag ?
-
I know I can't speak about hair, but dodgy cut on the head me thinks!!
I think the reason it took so long to announce was because Lee was sent to PC World to get one of those new SLIMMING CAMERAS
Good to have him back, but I still think we are short another player to cover Reidy.

Iain Lee takes the mick out of ITV play or whatever

I was going to ask what number will he wear, but just saw ir on the official website: his old 8. A good candidate of being a fans's favourite in terms of shirts sold, isn't he?
Edit: Now we have two Nº8 according to our website. Will Savage let Dunny wear his old number?
I imagine its because Premium TV have just updated Dunn details to move him from Brum to Rovers. Savage has no 8 until at least the end of the season as players cannot change numbers.
-
Boltons official website reports Allardyce as saying Dunns turned them down for Rovers

Appears the resident site mentalist has sent a ranting spam email to a few people from the official board whose email addresses are visible
I dont know if he's actually sent it to anybody from this site.
We are tending to get a mail every couple of days, and he has tried to re-register on the board.

UEFA.com have OB in third and Lens bottom.
http://www.uefa.com/competitions/uefacup/S...Group=2702.html
(Don't ask me how they've worked it out though)
results of the games involving the teams tied on points. so if ob beat lens then that counts fist before goal diff

Why give Derbyshire 5 games? Did you see something that the guys that were there didn't, or did you just pick a name out of a hat?
What about Joe Garner, shouldn't he be given 5 games as well, let's see how he settles.? What the hell, let's play all the young lads, there's nowt to lose.
Theres a hell of a lot to lose, get relegated and we might have to play Garner/Derbyshire up front as they will be all we have got.
Personally i'd like to see Derbs loaned out to a championship side, hopefully he can develop a little more form ready to have a go at a premier place next season. Theres enough potential in the way he bends his runs, but he does appear to miss chances and needs to improve his general positional play. He can only improve by playing. We cant afford to take a risk on him.
Whilst i'm not convinced Nonda has done nearly enough, theres is a history that he has scored goals at the highest level, and if he gets that back etc etc. Chances are the alternative will be to bring a player with a similar history into the club and hope that signing comes off, we havent got 10 games to give somebody else a chance. The Premier League demands instant results

Errr...........how come Andy Todd's (perfectly valid) appeal was upheld after the opening game of the season at Portsmouth then?
He won the appeal because the replays showed he made contact with the ball. Nothing to do with being last man or not.

What a couple of **very naughty boys
Mate of mine has a chat with a player we are strongly rumoured to sign, he confirms this directly, I post the contents of the conversation and you get a couple of smart arses with incredibly witty replies.
Ignore them Brownie.
I think the problem is that its hardly a secret now as theres so many different sources saying the same thing. I have however heard it from a couple who are normally accurate (including brownie), so theres a good chance this will happen

As I understand Glenn, we will not be playing a team from the same qualifying group or another team from England.
Also PSG finished second in their group, therefore the current three which we could play are Zulte-Wagem, Hapoel Tel-Aviv and Fenerbache.
From looking at these teams I wish we had lost tonight. Don't fancy a trip to either Turkey or Israel.
The way its panning out, it could be a 4 out of 7 chance as theres likely to be 2 from each country left.
-
If I understand it right, then we can play
Feyenoord Ned
We cant play a team from our group.
I think this draw is for the next 2 rounds as well.
Other teams are
A) Could potentially have the top 3 teams on 7 points, if Rangers lose and Auxerre win tomorrow. Haifa or Livorno can also finish third.
B ) Winners of the Leverkusen v Besiktas match (if drawn, its Besiktas)
C) Braga or Liberec can finish 3rd. Braga must beat Grasshoppers at home to do this. Liberec dont play..
D) Anybody except Parma who have won the group can finish third. Potentially all 4 other teams could finish on 4 points

u might be on your own then
Are you one of those who stands at the back of the Blackburn End singing "stand up and support your team" to other fans around ??
Kind of ironic that it was that mob who started the boo's off on Saturday and probably will today.
-
Bucky I certainly agree with both examples that you've listed. How Tugay didn't get his ban overturned was a joke. However I think that the Henchoz one was more or less right (certainly at least a yellow) and didn't hold any hope of a reprieve. I think we would have all been pretty annoyed if it had been a striker of ours and their defender in the same situation and he hadnt have got sent off.
As for consistency and us getting a break or two...well that's a different matter!
Its to do with part of the rules on appealing red cards. You can only appeal against making contact, not as to if you are the last man or not. Like Tugays it had no chance of success.

I refuse to believe that more 'sport lovers' called in to vote for Zara Phillips than, say, Joe Calzaghe or Darren Clarke. I'm not having it.
Of course not, but the standard halfwit who votes multiple times in these text polls are 14 year old girls who vote more for the "celebrity" as she's been in hello magazine more often etc. Beth Twaddle probably got 3rd place, as she appeals to the same demographic No chance of an actual sportsperson winning this nowadays, they have more chance of winning a dancing/singing/cookery contest.
-
Can we just not bother having one this year?
I didnt think the french had any personality anyway.
-
If you want to vote for a real athlete, vote for.
Phil Taylor ... I was so tempted to edit your post there Paul
I bet that Calzaghe can ride a bike, but I dare say Cooke can't box. Like Beth Tweddle, Cooke has no chance of winning, as nobody really gives a toss about their sports. Same would normally go for the Horse woman, but she's a bit more high profile being in the Royal Family and all that.
-
Since Calzaghe is the only winner in Britain, I'd go for him. Or Phil Taylor!
Neither have a chance given that its going to a telephone vote, so it will be the kids, housewives and halfwits choice. Expect Andy Murray to do well, despite not actually having a personality. Panesar might do well as a kind of protest vote against his omission from the team.
The young personality award will be a typically policically correct award to the blind athlete.

Good, i'd like Neill to play a full part in West Aams relegation.
As for the other point, don't come crying to me if somebody has a pop back at you for it.
