  1. They were pussy cats :D

I know Glenn has been try to arrange a pub for us all to meet up and hopefully this will happen if the locals get back to him. The night before the game in Sofia has to be my highlight, singing and dancing on the tables and Waggy seemingly unconscious on the bar, after several 70% proof vodkas, suddenly burst into song and gave us a rendition of "I was born in the Blackburn end"

    Quality moment :D

I'm sure there was something similar going on in the English bar in Lyon as well...

You just dont get that kind of atmosphere at normal away games.

  2. eh? Travel thread?

  3. Its obviously prompted our former resident site mentalist Vinjay to send the following in a few times.

A PLEA TO THE FANS OF BLACKBURN ROVERS FOOTBALL CLUB

    http://archive.thisislancashire.co.uk/1996/10/23/842413.html

Peter White thought that period was a time of crisis. Goodness knows what he

would make of the current situation this club is in. I said that the same

old pattern is repeating itself. Star player sold and a downturn in fortunes

follows. 3 games have been played and the club are bottom of the table and

struggling for goals. It's like 10 years ago only 10 times worse because we

no longer have an owner prepared to back the club. White noted that patience

had run out amongst Blackburn supporters. That was the case then but like I

feared Rovers fans have gone soft. White gave a honest opinion and wouldn't

have been censored for it because Jack Walker appreciated honesty. The word

    dosen't exist in Williams vocabulary.

Hughes should be a politician. He continues to put a positive spin on

everything when there are no positives.

"It's important for the strikers to get up and running."

"League position dosen't mean anything at this stage."

Surely though it contradicts the earlier statement about the strikers

getting off to a good start?

    "We're on the right track."

After a point against Everton. A win is what sets things on the right track.

"I thought Andre accquitted himself well."

He did aprt from costing Rovers the game. Not saying he's a bad signing but

he did not play well on Sunday and spin doctor Hughes won't change that

    view.

Williams has very cleverly created a comfort zone for himself. He associates

with media contacts who won't criticise him like Andy Neild and Gerald

"04-05 was a good season in the end!" Jackson. Nield stated in the telegraph

"So Rovers are head into the international break at the foot of the league

table." He says it like it's completely meaningless. Or perhaps like a man

who's scared to say what he really thinks?

One of the BRFCS members Revidge Blue used to write a column for the

telegraph. However after criticising the club he was subsequently removed.

Perhaps Williams didn't like having his comfort zone threatened? The

following quotes are from BRFCS members themselves.

    http://www.brfcs.co.uk/mb/index.php?showtopic=4985&st=20 (Following quotes

    on page 2)

    Quote from "thenodrog"

"From what I remember of last seasons column Rev's only crime was to

criticise the club publically just as last years 'hearts and minds' campaign

to attract more fans was initiated. Not the best timing and from what I can

gather a pressured John Williams went absolutely apeshit with the editor.

You dont need to be Einstein to work out how much the LET needs to foster

good relations with the Rovers (its about the only reason that I have it

delivered), so it seems Rev was the sacrificial lamb."

Quote by "Anti Euro Smiths Fan"

"Could this possibly indicate a different side to Mr Williams' character to

the one which has hitherto been praised to the rafters by other board

    members?

"Is it possible that our smooth talking moustachioed Chief Executive has a

"friendly face" in public - (The good-natured garrulous fellow that Den

encountered when he was invited into his office for tea and biscuits and a

cosy chat for an hour and a half) - But this amiable side to his character

can be offset by irascible short-tempered outbursts, as Thenodrog has

    alluded to."

It seems to me that the criticisms Revidge had were perfectly legitimate

viewpoints that he held about the club.

"For Mr Williams to allegedly "Go apes*it with the LET editor" indicates an

unhealthy sensitivity to CRITICISM ON HIS PART."

    EXACTLY!

At Bramall lane on Saturday week it's time to make a stand. It's time for

Williams to see his comfort zone collapse around him. It's time to put an

end to his regime by calling for him to resign as chairman of the board. A

position he assigned to himself for no clear reason. Other than his

    overlarge ego perhaps?

It's time for Rovers fans to make a stand just like Villa fans did. Look at

the positive effect around their club now. It is time to take this club out

of the comfort zone mentality installed by Williams before it's too late.

    Please

I am told that John Williams does read such threads, but doesn't believe the views of this messageboard to be indicative of the views of Rovers fans in general.

This messageboard represents a good cross section of fans.

From pillars of society, such as myself, to some right rubbin' rags

No, but theres 18000 fans attend Ewood, only 101 have voted on this topic so far. Its a fair point, but doesnt mean that the results should be ignored.

  5. I am told that John Williams does read such threads, but doesn't believe the views of this messageboard to be indicative of the views of Rovers fans in general.

However, the poll on here does have a fairly sizeable amount in favour of replacing the drummer, and IMHO the club should take the results of this poll seriously and canvass opinions of other fans (perhaps through Brisa, the Fans Forum) as to what to do about the matchday experience in general.

Theres certainly more to the situation than just getting shut of the drummer, but its a perfectly valid first step to experiment in dropping him for a few games.

  6. ******stop press*****

Rovers have agreed to change the tie dates, they are now playing the first leg on Wednesday for Ch4 coverage and are now playing hte second leg at Ewwod on the thursday with 7pm kick off

    BULLSHIT

UEFA cup games cannot be played at same time as Champions League games. ;)

  7. That is shocking news for the PS3. I know it's hardly going to dent the amount of people who buy it but that's a bit of a kick in the teeth for Sony.

Very suprised at EA though. They usually don't care about exclusivity as they are all about sales and they know Fifa sells. I wonder if they have been having development problems (like with Smackdown Vs Raw) and decided it was better to sign with MS rather than slip a date-able game into 2007.

I'm not sure its that much of a surprise tbqh, more taking some easy money before releasing PES7 for them when both consoles actually have some potential sales.

  8. Nice to see he continued where he left off.

IS THIS EVER GOING TO BE SORTED OUT?

I would doubt it, the drummers wont go voluntarily while they are still getting freebies. Not sure Rovers actually believe that they are that unpopular either, and that its just a few people complaining on an internet messageboard.

Noticed last night he was banging away behind Tim Howard when taking a goal kick, he is just embarrassing.

  9. I wonder whether the club have thought about showing away games live at the ground. Newcastle show (none Sky)games in their bars - the clubs have the right to do this so why not make some money out of it.

They have done, but as to do it legally they would have to do it on beamback rather than "dodgy sky", the costs are into 5 figures.. meaning we would probably need a good couple of thousand to make it viable.
