  1. Your man Noel and Ian Windy Miller. Both could get to the corner and ping a ball in. Used to love a proper winger. Noel died aged 38 didnt he ? So sad that.
  2. Where do you stand (sit) Cjay ? I am in the South Upper. Totally agree with Rovers. Not a chance they will go down. Over the 2 games its 4-4 on agg. Some very capable players but a different beast yesterday than at Ewood. A good win and i am certain they will pick up points and push up the league.
  3. Better team won yesterday in all honesty. We dominated the 1st half but Rovers always seemed to look a threat on the break. 2nd half you came out and bossed it for a spell. We need to start making more of our posession need to put teams to bed when we are on top. Too many scares for me. Our keeper isnt good enough which saddens me to say because he is only a kid. No way should Mulgrew of found the net with that free kick. Reading back this thread about relegation is ridiculuos. You will be in the top 10. The pressure was always going to tell in the end. We have a spirit in us now that we havent had in many many years. We need a couple of additions in January to stay in and around the Top 6. Good luck going forward and the fans that came over yesterday did the club proud. Best away following at Leeds so far this season. Best in terms of vocal backing for the team. Good to see in the days when most away support apart from a few is dire.
  4. Seasons Greetings to all Rovers. I trust the festivities have gone well and your bellies are full and wallets not too empty. Hope those making the trip over here have a safe journey and you can expect a warm welcome at Elland Road. Well i warmly welcome you at any rate. For those wanting a drink before the game i recommend you try the Drysalters near Cottingley Crem. Plenty parking and only a 15 min walk to the ground. Friendly bunch frequent this pub and visiting fans are always welcome in there. Have a good day lads and all the best for 2019. I hope you find a bit of form and push on towards the top 6. Go easy.
  5. Very very proud of Leeds yesterday. A totally makeshift back 4 and keeper making his debut. The crowd yesterday was 9/10. In Bielsa we trust.
  6. Thank you for putting me right. My grandad was Rovers mad but loved Tommy Finney. Said he was brilliant. A tale that got past down about Mortensen. Matthew and Finney ?? One was far better than the other 2. Far far better.
  7. Tommy Finney the best ever ? I'm 50 and my dad saw Finney. Told me he was the best ever. Read a few books on Sir Tom and he was absolutely fantastic by all accounts 2 genuine feet and good in the air. Once scored 2 penalties for England in a game. One with each foot ?
  8. Preston Grasshoppers. Met him there. Nice bloke.
  9. Met him in Preston a few times. Really nice bloke. 62 eh ? Wow.
  10. Can't watch England. Flicking between the snooker and darts. Find England dull.
  11. Seem to remember he's a Preston lad/fan. Well known local family. Mates with Paul Burke the boxer also from Preston. Sad for him. Bad illness that. I once said to a colleague " I hope you get locked in syndrome " bad that looking back but he told lies about me. I should of just banged him.
  12. We know that mate. Thanks for your kind endorsement of us. We are OK really. I reckon we had higher finishes in that time probably. Dirty Leeds. We all hate Leeds scum ?
  13. I have said it many many times that we are a big city club rather than a big club. Our attendances have always been average to ok on the whole. I started watching in the early 80s amoung crowds of 13/14,000 on occasion in 1983 but have also seen us in The Champions League Semi Final so it's all relevant really. Ups and downs much like life. Our away support sets us apart from most other clubs.
  14. Gone early with the matchday thread ? Waccoe can only post on the day of the match. Although these international breaks are as dull as dishwater. Preston fans make me laugh with the song "we are superior" ?? In what way exactly ? Only big (loosely termed) Lancashire club that haven't had a stint in the Premier League. Blackburn Burnley Bolton Wigan and Blackpool all have. PNE yet to taste it not that it tastes that good in reality. Championship is better. They did though have one of the greatest players ever if not the greatest. Reckoned by many to be the best English player ever. The Preston Plumber.
  15. My argument is based on the amount of times we are on. I don't mind the 5.30 games as it provides more drinking time but these lunchtime games are horrendous. I suppose we can't help being box office in this league. Only Villa pull similar figures. Another big club.
