Finally ! New LB to replace Bell. Williams to replace Mulgrew Toshin as backup for Williams / Lenihan We have to hope he is just giving Nyambe a couple of weeks out the team due to the Africa Cup, then Bennett will make way. For me it was LB that was number 1 priority.

Thats kind of the point. Mowbray will think Downing is the best competition for LWB so thinks we are OK and don't need to buy one. Ironically in this case he is absolutely correct because Bell is so poor. We really need a new LB but Tony thinks we are well covered. Downing is the best alternative we have.

There isn't one. Downing the only realistic alternative for a MUST WIN league game. Unless of course we have a marquee signing in place for tomorrow. Bell is a third division player and has proven that is his limit.

Looks and Sounds like we are not strengthening the defence. Defenders are not coming after all. Only Johnson has come in as an improvement in quality to last year's first team. The defence is equally bad. Remember we shipped 69 goals and have already conceded 2 howlers. I wanted to be inspired & excited to buy a season ticket. The money is there. The price isn't the issue. I know how it will feel in winter watching the same old rubbish in the freezing cold in a desolate and near silent Ewood. Completely uninspired and depressed by the whole summer of nonsense.

I would say playing me is a better option to playing Bell. Agreed Hart or one of the u23s couldn't do any worse but in reality Downing is the only fit alternative to Bell. We need a proven quality LB to progress.
