  1. They have a big empty stadium. Easy to have sections of unreserved seating. In the old days you got down early to secure your usual spot on the terrace. It was normal to see the same faces in the same places. I have never once sat in the seat on my ticket. I just find an empty seat... there tends to be a few thousand of them. Now wouldn’t it be great if there was some of that flexible and innovative thinking to fill some of them.
  2. correct If their PRIORITY was to increase attendances there would be no surcharge. As well as a raft of other simple initiatives. If their PRIORITY was purely £££££ then they would come up with daft ideas like a surcharge. Fans want to increase attendances. The club sadly, do not.
  3. The discussion is not about the 800 who attend and don’t care or realise about the surcharge. It is about the 10 or 100 or 1000 who would attend if there was no surcharge. There are many ideas on this thread from passionate ROVERS FANS many who are not going regularly or at all. Are the club taking note or just ignoring the issue ? The Leeds game with early KO had a surcharge the whole day. I chose not to go because of it. If I was the only one then fair enough.
  4. like I said. Mr opposite. Proven beyond doubt.
  5. Josh, please can we have a poll ? Do you want to increase attendances at Ewood ? yes no debating ridiculous surcharges which may stop 1 additional fan or family attending, suggests either I have lost touch with sense and reality... or Biz and Chaddy are fake fans who just want to be “Mr Opposites”.
  6. Agreed 20,000 empty seats... Thread is about increasing attendances which starts with 1 more, 2 more, etc fans. Those arguing for the surcharge or attempting to justify it, clearly prefer attendances to remain the same. Strange POV
  7. As I have said before, this is really simple. The club either want more to attend... or they don’t. If they want to increase attendences, they (Waggott) would setup a task force to work on this specifically ( which could include a few fans, god forbid). There is no silver bullet. They would write down all of the ideas. Many in this thread alone. Discuss them all. Action ALL of the good ones. Every idea worthy of 20 more in the ground is worth doing. Result - higher attendences. If they don’t want higher attendences, they will do nothing. Result - nothing. I think their true stance on this is pretty clear.
  8. Thats because the club want to charge an extra 3 quid tax for walk ons. I would be there and I guarantee a few hundred more as well.
  9. last week I got home early and got to the ticket office at 11:20 different each week depending where I have to go and how long the job takes. If I buy in advance I may not make the game at all. Surcharge for walkons with half the stadium empty ?
  10. Just got in from work. Waggott walkon tax preventing me from going today even though its hours before kickoff. ??
  11. take the seats out and make the Riverside safe standing terrace at Riverside prices.
  12. complete bollocks Chris Especially due to the matchday Waggott Tax
  13. The lad did well yesterday. Just wished he had smashed that in the net. For himself as well as the supporters who endured a very poor game. Not a criticism by any means.
  14. what if 2-0 up wins the match and is better than a corner. An instinctive striker would have had nothing in mind except smashing it in the net. A Shearer or a Rooney... or a Haggis would not be out muscled and fail to get a shot away. Although having got the corner he and Dack did superbly well.
  15. Thought Smallwood played well. Perhaps he has settled into the Champ now after looking out of his depth early season. Palmer - rubbish and a liability
  16. He did what was asked of him yesterday. 10 minutes lad, get out there and influence the game. won a penalty and helped keep the play in their last third. I just wished when he was running through on goal he could have gotten a shot away and “broke the back of the net”. I couldn’t help think that Shearer would have done.
  17. Hoping I can manage to get down before 12 to get a ticket. Otherwise it’s a no go as I WILL NOT PAY A £3 surcharge. Touch and go with work. Will be really pissed off if I miss out because of the Waggott Tax !! 3-1 win tomorrow
  18. surely if the price is £24 then it should be £3 discount to buy the week before. £2 discount 2 days before. £1 discount the day before ? carrot instead of stick encourage early purchase instead of discourage matchday walk ons They either want folks to go back or they don’t.
  19. single biggest disgrace is the matchday surcharge. it has stopped me going to 3 games so far this season. I don’t actually ever recall seeing an explanation for it. why is there no cash turnstile on matchdays ? or a contactless turnstile ? the ground is empty they want more people to attend... or they don’t which is it ? Please ask them that at the next FF
  20. That would mean increased matchday operational costs Ozz Better to shut the Riverside and fill the gaps everywhere else. The only fans they are interested in are the Sky red button cameras Or is that Camera The rest of us are a nuisance
  21. What is the point of asking ST holders what they think ? They have already proclaimed they will renew no matter what. Try asking lapsed ST holders like myself why they are not going back. Isn’t the thread about how to increase attendances ?
