I don’t think he’s ever been the badge kissing type to be fair. First season he seemed pissed off that he was being criticised early on. Last season when he was banging the goals in he was doing his salute celebration. Obviously he has said positive things about the club, its history etc but that’s par for the course. The podcast thing didn’t bother me too much, if I was a 29 year old footballer who’d just played the season of my life and had never played in the premier league then I’d expect people to understand I had ambitions of playing there too. He saved our skin big time last season. We all on here talk about what a shit show our club can be, the players will be as aware of that. He knows he won’t get to the premier league with us. He’s not a fan so if the chance to play higher is there then he can’t be blamed for wanting to take it.

In regards to that Germain, I’m sure all of us (and Eustace) wanted 2 strikers in regardless of Gallagher staying or going. Gueye is one, Ohashi I presume is a bit of a mix of forward players so could probably be classed as another. Still need another. Though to be honest I’d rather it was someone more experienced with the championship, but we know the premium that brings price wise.

I doubt he’d play much more than one cup game next season. One more game than he will at Newcastle probably. Having said that they played that 17 year old Miley for at least half of their games last season. As I said, if Rovers didn’t think he was any good they’d bin him off like they have done with plenty of youth players this summer. Are you going lambast the club for not showing those players any loyalty??

Well I’ve not been slating any of them and I don’t agree with that either so not sure what your point is. I just don’t get the rovers tinted glasses to be honest. The lad may have been told he’ll go to Newcastle, get paid way more now than he ever would here and get a loan to a League Two or One team where he’d be a regular and get that experience. We just don’t know. He played about 3 minutes at the end of a cup game for us last season and that’s it. Who’s to say he’d play much more this season in a team that is bound to struggle?
