In your opinion of course. How on earth has Pickering quadrupled his value in half a season? Wharton just back froma serious injury is now worth multiple millions despite not year fulfilling a whole season in the Championship? They both might be, but i think your way overdoing it there.
Pickering and Wharton could possibly play for England some day.
I think you are greatly underrating them.

needs at least 3 reserve games before you can even think of involving him on the bench
Butterworth has already been on the bench.
More concerned with Gallagher needing about 20 reserve games.
I'd go with Butterworth and Khadra.

Costello needs a loan at a club where he can cut his teeth in his favoured position. I don't think he has the athelticism to play out wide in any shape or form. He could however become a very useful centre midfielder.
The guy just looked rusty.
But it was a pity he replaced Nyambe, as he would've been a better replacement for Trav.

I'm not against Gallagher getting some game time, but I can't see the sense in starting him. Surely Khadra keeps his spot.
I think JRC will do a good job right back. Would have thought Zeefuik will be on the bench ahead of Butterworth.
Khadra should keep his spot indeed. But so too Butterworth on the bench. The Dutch lad isn't for enough yet.

Markandy?
Yeah, he is potentially the one.

Rothwell has said in the last couple of days that he's never enjoyed his football as much as he is now.
Surely the means he doesn't want to go provided we pay him what he thinks he's worth.
I've no idea what he's asking for but, if is anything like reasonable, we should conclude a new deal with him?
If we go up, salaries will all rise anyway.
I don't know why we can't offer contracts with big incentives for promotion.

I could think of worse loans to add a bit of quality for the run in.
For my money Harvey and Armstrong were both very poor at defending from the front.
I believe we are much better now. And think the young attacker we brought in may well be a more versatile all round player, after having experience at playing left back as well as on the wing and up front.

Pears is a solid reliable back up keeper! Why on earth would you want to replace him?
Go on take his cherry 🍒😂😂
Never seen a worse performance in goal than Pears. Was never convinced by him.
Just did quite well in a couple of games.
Cardiff would've made mincemeat of him.

Are you mad? Trav has been excellent this season. He cleared the ball off the line on Saturday for flip sake.

I'd like to see us sign an experienced midfield bruiser for the run in. David Batty / Vinnie Jones type with presence, leadership and a lot of bite.
I admire Travis for is endeavour but he's not great defensively and adds nothing going forward. I think a bit of experience in midfield will be a big help in games like yesterday when we were under the cosh a little.
Not sure who is available who could fill that role.
Travis is excellent defensively. Cleared the ball off the line yesterday. He just was a bit sloppy with his passing in that game, like all are midfielders and forwards.

This is spot on and very fair and measured. I said recently I was fond of Gally but I get the critism and I don't see it as scapegoating. Yesterday I felt he was awful, I will him to be better because he looks the part, I always remind myself of that beast of a run at deepdale in recent times where he won the penalty. Prob a bad sign that I actually can name the one time he did that.
I can't see how anyone throught he was useful yesterday, could of cost us.
Yesterday I thought he was good. The team definitely improved when he came on.

He provided a presence yesterday - he's a big, fast, imposing CF. He just can't trap a bag of sand.
Yes, he is great to bring on when we are under the cosh.
Yes, his first touch really is the problem.

Article I found on Markanday. Exciting stuff, Spurs fans do seem very upset that he’s going.
Wow! Even played left back.
I thought he looked a solid all-round player.
Be handy to put on left wing back if we are chasing the game.

I don't see how JRC could be used in any position more advanced than RWB in a 3-5-2, there's only the three CMs and two forwards ahead of him.
To be honest even if he was able to stay fully fit I don't think I've seen enough from him to suggest he could be effective in any advanced position. Backup RWB only for me (when he's fit).
I can see him play anywhere across the midfield 3. Imo he is one of the most versatile players we have.

I don't think we are skint at all but I think we will sign at least 1 permanent signing if not 2 in this window.
On the O'Riley link, it appears that Swansea are favourite to sign him and I guess thats down to Russell Martin knowing him
Hopefully our league position sway his decision. Would be a fine signing from what I have seen. I don't see Johnson or Davenport offering anything to the team if any our 3 in central midfield are out of the side.

People seem to have forgotten, but let’s have a reminder eh?
Vaccination talk in the corona virus thread in the ICBINF thread only please.
Fair enough.
The young Dutch lad looks like a top player, and will be an important signing, especially now JRC is going to be utilised in a more forward position.

Seems those in Hartlepool have much more faith in our team than our supporters.
A top 10 should be possible indeed; hopefully more:

I'll happily offer you 20/1. Minimum stake 50.
Yeah, we have a very solid hard working team. I would be thinking more of a top 10. Possible playoff push if we can keep our key players fit.

As mentioned - when Sam G gets injured, what's the back-up plan?
Personally I can't wait to see Butterworth and some of our other U23s given a chance. With the limitations I didn't have much faith in Tony bringing in a decent striker.

At right back you've got significantly more cover than LB. Before Edun:
RB:
Nyambe
Rankin-Costello
Pike
Buckley
CarterLB:
Harry Pickering
Lenni Rae Cirino. If you have Buckley as a possible right back JRC has to be down as a possible left back option. Not that I would ever play either in those positions.
The Dutchman is also a RB option though.

We already have plenty of those. We have plenty of attacking options.

Glad we didn't make an impulse striker signing..And hopefully Butterworth will get the game time he deserves now.

Did you really think Roberts and Ntcham were realistic last day transfer additions?
We need a permanent striker signing in.
Doyle is a midfielder
Can't see us being interest in Hull's striker Eaves. Makes no sense at all
We have done best having a hard working midfielder as our focal point in attack.
