  1. On paper the dingles are rightly favourites seen as they have had spending power regardless of players leaving them. Bit for what we’ve seen so far they are nothing special, they are all for possession but cause little threat, the way they play suits us l, let them have the ball but give them no joy and hit them on the break as their defence isn’t great either, they will get frustrated and mistakes will be made. They are the same boring team just in a different way and personally can’t see them staying in the top 2 so there is nothing to fear, you worried a lot more about playing dyches Burnley than kompanys

  2. Really don’t like the 523 it leaves you completely exposed by one pass, only teams with qualify midfielders can master this system along with quality upfront who can press and keep the ball. We should be looking to go 532 get Diaz and gally uptop with a player in an advanced midfield role like what Rothwell had, lick the ball up from deep and create something

  3. Our record at the DW since 07 stinks, the first three visits in 02,05,07 we won convincingly but since then the best we’ve got out of that place is shithousing a draw in 2011 with pedersens ghost pass from the corner, it’s all been draws and defeats, my first visit was in 07 but not the convincing 3-0 win in the 06/07 campaign but the emotional famous Santa Cruz 5-3 defeat, I’ve been to Wigan every game since 11/12 after that so with all 8 visits I’ve never seen us win nor will I tomorrow, had my ticket but called into night shifts so it means I can’t be there which is a shame cause I love doing all the local games but hey ho such is life.

in terms of my confidence for the game I’m not confident at all, the record there is appalling, I would be confident in breaking the hoodoo if not for our win lose pattern along with the fact we are record breakers for the wrong reasons and with Wigan yet to win a home game we will no doubt gift them their first home victory as we are incapable of being able to form back to back performances let alone win back to back. Wigan are a poor team full of cloggers play our football and it’s a convincing win but if we do what we normally do and get sucked into their game and get nervous then it’s gonna be another hair ripping defeat

Thought last season would be the season to beat them, a piss poor l1 Wigan against a rovers side on good form but cause of the complete disrespect and lack of interest in the cups by Mowbray.. despite him putting out a strong enough side to beat them with ease and we would have done if we had gone for it we still managed to gift them 3 utterly ridiculous goals, it was clear from the body language of what was supposed to be a Kate equaliser that we wasn’t interested, we may aswell have put a full reserve team out

I think we will get bullied here. Bad memories of January.

They've had a decent start to the season - only one defeat - but yet to win at home.

It matters not what form we are in, who we have available or their form as no matter what we tend to struggle there.

January was down to the fact Mowbray threw that game, he wasn’t interested, when Ayala nutted in what could and should have been a late equaliser the players hardly reacted in relief and joy, Ayala had a face on like wtf have I done so it was clear Mowbray sent that team out not to bother, he just fielded a strong looking team so nobody could question it but his mistake in that is not realising it’s about the effort and enthusiasm plus mentality towards the cup games that counts regardless of if it’s a strong 11 or not, jdt has proven that winning two cup games already with a second string that Mowbray would have lost

  5. Successful window, rovers fans need to stop assuming the worst and be patient, anoint if times I’ve seen comments like gregg is doing fuck all just cause we haven’t heard anything when it’s obvious our business is done behind the scenes is boring and tiresome.

gregg and the team came late and have conducted good business, can’t have expected better, rather than stockpile like what a lot of fans wanted to do for the sake of looking good on paper we recruited smartly aswell as giving youngsters a chance to shin aka Adam Wharton which has turned out to be like new signings itself, if Mowbray was still here we would have stockpiled loans from premiership academies and I guarantee our start to the season would have been awful, jdt has brought a fantastic mentality of your good enough your old enough trusting in two teenagers ( one from the academy) to hold midfield against big physical players and a lad who was school age just a couple months ago or so in the heart of defence.

from now until Jan we can monitoring the squad and figure out what’s needed in jan, I would monitor Pickering and if there is no improvement to his performances then lb should be a priority, a back up reliable rb is needed too, if the young midfielders Wharton, garret continue to perform well then central mid dosent need much attention minus cover which tbf we could do with an experienced hitter to backup /compete, as we all know Travis is a walking breathing card he’s gonna pick up suspensions that leaves us with only one experienced midfielder, 2 if you count Edun being able to cover so we could do with another travis like player to right it up and get a foot in, I’ve seen someone post before even though he’s a bit of a dick when your against him but Ben Pearson would be ideal to look into especially if we are trying to keep a lead under pressure late on and he can be partnered with trav to frustrate and get in the oppositions faces, don’t think he would cost much either if not a loan and would certainly ruffle the knobbers feathers.

all in all I’m happy with business we are covered for every position (technically) bar right back  and a central midfielder wouldn’t go a miss in jan

  6. Just got back

Absolutely superb effort from everybody but special mention to Wharton, what a superb talent, like a young David dunn, so much confidence, natural ability and swagger 👏 you wouldn’t have thought our midfield was two teenagers so hats off to Morton 👏 also fantastic so much maturity, hayam also solid with Carter.

soon as we got the goal we settled down and if it wasn’t for some outstanding goalkeeping we could have been 4 up, vale did very well when he came on, seemed up for the fight. Really solid battling performance despite another piss poor ref determined to get blackpool level giving them stupid decisions like a simple lawful shoulder barge, so we should great character and determination to be awarded the 3 points we deserved 👏

In my mind, Blackpool has never been a happy hunting ground for Rovers.

Someone may have the stats but in the last 55-60 years or so, I don't recall more than half a dozen Rovers' wins.

Been on that ground when we've had some real thumpings with 3/4/5 goals flying in past our goalie.

Since the new century came in we have been to Bloomfield 6 times competitively

    10/11 2-1 win

    12/13 2-0 loss

    13/14 2-2 draw

    14/15 2-1 win

    17/18 4-2 win

    20/21 2-1 loss

wouldn’t call it a bogey ground like Wigan is, we go there next week and we haven’t won there since 2007

I think we'll lose unfortunately. There's too much uncertainty around certain areas of the team and the players are trying to adjust to JDT. That combined with Blackpool being massively up for it as I expect them to be (as was the case last season) will be too much of a shock to the system for Rovers.

3-1. Dack with Rovers only goal.

Last season was lost by mowbrays stupid mentality, he put a piss poor magloire at right back off the back of a shocker earlier that week and blackpool knew that and all their luck came from that side which both their goals happened despite rovers dominance second half worthy of a draw atleast in tyoical Mowbray fashion we huffed and puffed but didn’t have the cutting edge aswell as the ref letting blackpool away with too much, blackpool credit to then defended and commited very well but we’re a poor side in which we’re gifted poor goals by an even poorer 1st half rovers, blackpool had a good manager at the time now they have Appleton who we know well so I don’t think it could possibly be any worse than last season when they had a better manager than they do now and we had a poorer manager than we do now. If we come out with the right mindset and fired up in which we should be after a run of three loses in the league then we will batter them

  9. Win needed badly a defeat to the worse of our Lancashire rivals would bring horrid negativity especially live on the box, unlikely brereton will play as his move away heats up, question is will Ayala be rested as Carter isn’t fit enough yet and hyam will likely be able to slit straight in so does he partner Phillips ? Blackpool will have had a good look at us and despite Phillips being brilliant he was also bullied a bit which is expected but blackpool have some big lads who will really look to get at him and in his face, personally I would keep Ayala on to partner hyam even if it’s for 60 mins

    kaminski

    brittain

    ayala

    hyam

    Edun

    buckley

    travis

    hedges

    dack

    markanday

    gallagher

subs: pears, Phillips, Carter, Pickering, Wharton, Morton, Dolan

or would like us to go three at the back with wing backs and 3 in midfield (one as a more attacking role) and two upfront

  10. With Hyam signed and one other cb on route it looks as though jdt wants a back 3, Ayala, hyam, Wharton, Carter, Phillips and a new CB ( hopefully JPVH is solid and not only provides cover but also room for loans out

would prefer a 532 as we don’t have any quality wide forwards/ wingers but I can see it being 523 which me personally I don’t like leaves you vulnerable in the middle andeans dack and sznodics are out of position

I hate that when people raise genuine questions whether it be about players out of position, what the style is, where the goals will come from etc, that they are shot down by people who will not allow constructive debate about the manager if it involves and doubts or constructive criticisms.

Is it not hard to see what he is trying to do? In 6 games we have taken the lead in 3 and managed the games really well from there, grinding them out with heart and organisation. In the 3 games that we have conceded in first, in the first 2 we were totally uncompetitive

I think that questioning what the style actually is and whether it is evident at this early stage is valid rather than being shot down as intolerable impatience.

I am bothered about the results but in terms of entertainment factor, there has been very little from the first 6 games. very few chances created, players struggling in positions that they aren't best suited to etc.

I am questioning that I have yet to see the supposed style or even many if any small signs of the supposed style that so many have outlined in detail as to what Tomasson will play.

You mention fitness. Would it not be a worry that Wharton, Gallagher, Brittain, Carter and Hedges have already all missed games due to injuries picked up in training?

Not really given the circumstances our squad is paper thin and can barely cope with two games a week let alone 3 games in 6 days, he’s gotta kick the bad ways if a group of players who have had a negative mediocre managers ways installed into them like not being able to fight their way back into games which was well and truly a Mowbray problem

  12. Can’t believe I’m already seeing people question jdt, isn’t hard to see what he’s trying to do but he hasn’t got the team yet, we are patched up fortunately with good academy players but there is plenty of positives, poor first half conceded a stupid goal but great second just lacked a striker to score the goals which is what we need to recruit, only Gallagher and vale are recognised strikers and vale is far from good enough and Gallagher ain’t gonna score for fun so a proper out and out striker is what’s needed and it’s what we haven’t had since graham left no thanks to Mowbray and his false 9 obsession.

the lad from cov coming in and apparently we are pushing for van hecke so to me I think jdt wants to play a back 3, which fair play to the guy he’s picked the team for the best options available rather than square pegs and round holes like Mowbray did and would do.

    adam Wharton superb 👏

I am not worried aslong as we get the players in, but I do think we need at least just the cov lad in at centre back, we need a left back as Pickering isn’t up to this system nor this level, even a centre as we have little experience there, Diaz replacement which depends on the system jdt wants to play, if he opts for a back 3 then I hope it’s 532 and a striker

If this manager isn't backed in the next fortnight given his fantastic start to life, scaled back wage bill and gaping holes in the squad then we've got serious problems.

I'm not interested in the slightest about the usual excuses of 'asking' about players, or lining deals up that then don't materialise.

The shortages are there for all to see - the manager wants and needs signings - excuses won't cut it. This guy isn't a dolloper who is going to sit here for 4 years and be mucked around every window.

The club are backing him the best they can it’s not the lack of trying it’s a very difficult market for clubs like us these days who haven’t had the parachute payments and tv revenue like the ones who have come Shen in recent years so we are having to kee the books balanced

  14. Phillips will be stupid to leave now, he’s in the team, at 17 he should trust his ability and be patient for he big Money, he should be delighted with 5k a week if we offered it, stay here establish then the big move will come, we could go up this season then he’s in the prem, a promotion pay rise to add to the deal too, if we go up and he bosses it then he will be on the verge of the England team and will be a more attractive punt for the big boys, if he fucks off now for a few extra k to go back into the youth system to be forgotten about then he is an idiot, here he is an asset at spurs or whatever he’s a number like the rest of the talent them clubs have, how many quality young prospects fall from the radar and never reach their potential cause they got too greedy too soon and listened to some slimy agent ?

diaz needs to make his kind up is he signing or not ? If not then we need to sell so we can get his replacement in fast and more cash will be left for further recruitment
