  1. For those asking - Italy is fine for iFollow/RoversTV on the app.
  2. I wouldn’t have given it much credence, save for Garrett being a lefty and us only having 8 subs, as both Szmodics and Pickering fell ill overnight.
  3. Don’t shoot the messenger, but RoversTV had this up a minute ago…
  4. Looks a 4-3-3, so we may be digging in and hoping for something on the break. Hard-fought points are out there, but any today will be especially hard-fought.
  5. I always wonder if clubs make multiple bids without encouragement and wait to see if the player fancies it or not. There must be some motive for Ipswich to come back with a second offer and it must be the player saying “I’m open to it.” Fairly solid chance for Gallagher to be part of a promotion to the premier league and a squad player up there for at least a season. I think we’re holding out for a higher offer. Maybe £2m or slightly over. Not saying he’s worth anything more than a bag of chips and his train fare, but we might have targets to replace and need a bit to keep the fire burning and a bit to replace. It’s early in the window, why accept an offer that does less than that?
  6. Batty’s got two assists for the 2nd XI tonight.
  7. Well, gazza1981 has certainly raised a chuckle on my side. Oblique line of questioning and an over-investment in the player’s rep strikes me as a cack-handed attempt to position as some kind of ITK/club-adjacent figure. I’m not sold. I’ve heard Brighton’s recruitment department is pretty forward-thinking but I would think that hanging out in the transfer thread of a Championship club’s unofficial forum isn’t the best use of your time, in that role. Christ, we support the club and it’s not the best use of any of our time!
  8. Thing is, you’d at least understand it in an under-12s
  9. With the benefit of hindsight, the first half was an indictment of our recent league form: a lot of players looking shaky and uncertain, especially defensively, but being carried by Sammie Szmodics. Second half was how it should be in this tie, which is a generally dominant performance with a couple of chances for the opposition. We benefited from tiredness creeping in for Cambridge. Could’ve been 8-2 with the chances, but 5-2 is still a dominant scoreline and we were - eventually - value for that. It’s going to take a lot more to convince me that we’re over the slump and I fear that it won’t start until we’re closer to a full complement, but a good result… eventually.
  10. Sammie holding his groin and asking to be subbed. Should’ve happened a while ago
  11. Christ, we look a lot better now. Should’ve been the general complexion for all of the game. Clearly confidence at play.
  12. Excellent header from Leonard to make up for the open goal.
  13. Best install function for 11/10 ratings, Admin, as Sammie has been around that for us today.
  14. I believe that’s Sammie’s first senior hat trick. Not bad managing it in the first half of a game. Clearly in the form of his life, this season.
  15. Yeah, I’m now of the view he’s not got the killer instinct of a goal scorer. He’s there to link up. Which is fine, I guess, if Sammie stays fit and on the kind of form he’s on. Big if, mind.
  16. That is some of the worst defending in our poor run to date. Shocking. Even still, well-worked goal by Cambridge. I wonder if Max Rushden woke up early to watch it, @Herbie6590?
  17. I involuntarily chuckled. After it pinged off Wharton, I asked myself, “are they… gonna score here?” The chuckle genuinely surprised me.
  18. Good strike from them, which we allowed to happen through some poor defending. Cambridge look up for it, we do not. Losing this… well, I dunno, is it sackable? Feels sackable alongside the kind of run we’re having, but especially with this strong of a team selection. Obviously he won’t be sacked, ducking out of the cup early saves face for Waggott and the BBE closure conundrum in future. Honestly, anything less than a battering of Cambridge is a disappointment, but we haven’t got out of bed, by the looks.
  19. Honestly, the people leading the commercial department are stealing a living, starting with the CEO.
  20. Don’t fully understand what the craic is with cup football on RoversTV, but Carabao isn’t shown either.
  21. Where in any post have I declared my mind is made up? (This is a tedious argument, because you’ve knee-jerked at criticism of a move we’ve made. Someone’s going to stop in and tell us to stop bickering, so let’s leave it before they do).
  22. You’re absolutely right, I am making assumptions about a Brighton youth player. The Brighton fan I play football with has described him as “high hopes, time wasted at Coventry, hopeful he can kick on” and I’ve seen 5’8”, 20 years old, Coventry’s form improving after he came out of the team and a lot of comments about a lack of physicality, with a sprinkling of comments about a lack of commitment. Would you prefer I base my assumptions on his YouTube highlight reel?
  23. Fairly confident I can isolate this one deal from the separate Travis deal. In fact, I have.
