  1. Small consolation, admittedly, but we developed that one ourselves and for all their parachute millions and much-vaunted “elite manager in the making” the best they could come up with at half time was “kick him.” Too good for them and looked unfazed while being so, one in a long line of players we’ve brought through. Best they’ve ever brought through is one-in-four charity case Jay Rodriguez, I believe.
  2. Do you think they were even watching?
  3. I suspect Trav has hit his particular ceiling, unless there’s something hidden that I’ve not seen, so we need an improvement there. Gritty, haggard, loud, strong. Playoffs have to be the target, it’s totally achievable.
  4. God, I’m in love with the idea of Jesse Marsch managing them. Ted Lasso’ing his way to the lowest points total in Premier League history.
  5. Season over, I don’t see how a team recovers from watching their closest rivals winning the league on their home pitch. I hope Ashley Barnes finds himself destitute in later life. I hope he ends up alone, depressed and utterly destitute. Got to be the among my least favourite people of all time.
  6. You don’t stop those, but then you don’t get them scrabbling around the bargain bins we have to. Burnley are flush with Premiership television money and we are what happens when you take a club away from the Premiership for over a decade. It’s a sickener, it’s worst-case-scenario to watch your fiercest rivals crowned champions on your own ground, it’s undeserved, frankly, but it’s not entirely unexpected.
  7. Certainly nowhere near the level yet, haha! But style of play is similar. 10 years of hard work and who knows?!
  8. It’s the awareness and having made the pass before it’s already started travelling to him. And the height/stride.
  9. IF we make a change it’s Sorba and Leonard, but it should be both. For Dolan and probably Hedges, but I’d almost say for Diaz.
  10. It’s closer to Zidane in style, I think.
  11. We’ve played well, it’s nervy and they don’t look as up for it as I thought they would. Szmodics really working hard, Wharton is such a good footballer for 29, let alone 19, everything else has been good but can and must improve second half.
  12. The tactical change to five at the back was at fault for the goal, as we were deeper there than we had been in the previous 90 mins and becoming overrun. We looked awkward, frenzied and uncomfortable. We made the same mistake against Coventry this week. It’s an error, just as it would be an error to put Dolan in goal, for instance. In that very extreme example, you’re asking something of a player that they can’t do. These players seemingly can’t do this right now. Dropping to five at the back when we are a matter of days on from failing to defend a slim lead with five at the back, with a team that the manager publicly acknowledges is young and therefore lacking in nous/experience to see games out, is a mistake. Your opinion may be different, but on the simplest level, it’s very difficult to argue with “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
  13. I’m still in the camp of fooling myself because I do like the manager and a lot of what he’s done, but this Remy character is supposed to be the tactician and a lot of what I see there, I don’t like.
  14. I’ve only got non-alcoholic beers in the fridge, I can’t even numb the numbness.
  15. Wharton started to drag Delap down and should have finished the job. Atrocious area to give away a free kick, but you take that and pack the box, vs the situation that played out. Hedges at fault for his actions but the manager is at fault for creating the pressure on a team that cannot seem to handle it as a collective, currently.
  16. I want an apology for the tactical error.
  17. I am physically fucking staggered.
  18. There’s an actual former footballer called Jason Bent who he absolutely does not look like.
  19. “You can prove anything with facts…”
  20. That’s an incredible tackle from JRC
  21. Good spot by the ref/assistant, he had me fooled
  22. Honestly think he’s had a good game and I don’t like this ref at all, had some shockers against us.
