I would like to see it tried, but I think he’d get bullied by centre halves. -

Three mistakes have happened when we’re trying to force it and all three times it’s lead to a chance. Twice with Szmodics and once with Wharton. Our good work getting forward is through patient build up. That goal is a symptom of the forwards being frustrated, but they’ve had at least two good chances to one in the onion bag. They need to remain structured and trust the process of getting up the field. Don’t give a shit about the opposition players and fans getting frustrated, let them get frustrated and play the system. Very poor from Szmodics, the captain needs to have a word with everyone here. -

Shame about the penalty miss, but we’re playing very well. Some really nice stuff. -

Salford, Port Vale, Bradford City would do for me. A league up, a further test for the youngsters. Or Wrexham for the absolute mindfuck of seeing Mac from Always Sunny and/or Van Wilder on Ewood. -

Yeesh, first two of theirs were horrorshows at the back. Hilton positioning poor for the first one, Brittain getting out-jumped for it, as well. Second one is poor from Batty. Buckley is a bit selfish for his and he just barges past Ennis in the aftermath. Sulking or unfriendly? He’s a few places down the pecking-order, he can’t afford to do/be either. Ennis’ finish is really smart. Leonard’s pressing almost reaps rewards, I like him more every time I see him. Letting the kids have a run out and the experience of a lot of goals/shifts in momentum is excellent for them. Pleasing stuff! -
Lemme know how that works!

The ‘Watch Live’ option is there, but it’s done it before and not shown the game, so let’s wait and see. Suspect it’ll be audio only. -

Wrexham’s gotta give the sponsors value for money. A pretty penny spent on that shirt sponsorship. -

Don’t get this at all. Fair - might not be much of an overseas audience - but why aren’t these games allowed to be shown anywhere? -

Any overseas fans aware of it being shown somewhere? -
Momentum swinging the wrong way, though.

On paper, the Leicester lineup is absolute madness and they’ve tried to play in a progressive way but I think they’re very fortunate to be up here against Coventry. Ellis Simms is an £8m paperweight, cannot see him scoring and have no idea how Everton have got that kind of fee for him. I simply don’t know what any scout has ever seen in his play. I think Leicester away is late in the season, but I would absolutely fancy ourselves against them.

First impressions from Ewood (5 pints and ??? Baby Guinness’ deep): They looked a team full of athletes at kick off and I was nervous. Some solid play to break the WBA press. We will get beaten by others’ press, but today and against many teams in this league, we will play through it effectively. That’s a real skill and the result of a lot of hard work. Some of the play was excellent. Give Szmodics the armband. Harry Leonard is a Championship striker. He leaves today with a hat trick if he was on a run of five games (working through the nerves) and I can see him scoring a lot of goals this season if he’s given a regular starting berth. Naturally gifted. Markanday will be an asset this season. Got muscled around a lot but his press and positioning was very solid today. We are very disorganised when broken against. Defense loses shape when the opposition breaks against us and that’s how we conceded. We could’ve conceded at least two more because of this. On balance, we were much better than WBA today, which means we’ve done good work over pre season. Tronstad is a very tidy player. Adam was a bit too careless at times today. Trav worked hard but I don’t think he’s suited to this style of play. Lovely assist to Markanday, even still. Ewood had a great atmosphere. If you can, get on Ewood as much as you can allow. -

Absolutely should not have to be leading the line next Saturday but I think he’s going to give a good account of himself. Looking forward to seeing him develop. -

To be fair to you, he’s just found the gap between two of our players directly to the touch line but aside from that, he moves the ball quickly and generally looks forward. He looks comfortable in possession and as the “pivot” that’s what you want. -

Good movement from them both, although Sammie looked very tight for offside. Leonard does have instinctively good movement, he’s definitely a prospect. Leagues ahead of Vale, for me. -

Congratulations to all those who’ve grafted to get this initiative off the ground and over the line. I’d be really pleased to see more of it in future. I’m about 200 miles away from Ewood today, but hope everyone has an excellent day. -
Not much in the way of eye contact between those two. Difficult not to read into..?

23/24 kit; is a new sponsor needed?
Bethnal replied to alex l's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Not a fan. Think the only colour for accents on a Rovers home shirt should be red, if you’re gonna do them. I also think that you should pick a lane with a design feature collar. They’ve tried to merge two here and it hasn’t worked. Not an instant classic.
