  1. From a Forest mate: Emanuel Dennis to Blackburn is a good buy imo. I like Dennis, but frustrating for us when he’s trying to take on every player instead of squaring the ball but he’s a good weapon. Fast & Good finisher too
  2. What if I don’t want Woodrow or Shankland? What are we supposed to be hoping for? I genuinely thought they’d pull a finger out and JE seems the right kind of manager to get the best out of what he’s given. Certainly don’t think he’d be shitting over a new signing that does make their way to us. But I reckon he’s made his agent more than aware that he’d be open to a move, at least by the end of the season, if not before. Again, how Suhail or Waggott walk freely among the punters in the fan lounges is beyond me.
  3. Ironically on the Jackson/stag do controversy - I’ve taken the day off for transfer deadline day. Something about it made me think we were going to leave it late again. I think this time, we’ll probably end up doing nothing, despite leaving it extremely late already. I’m also squeezing in a medical procedure today, tbf, so it’s not a total waste of time. Every likelihood that I grab an Ole & Steen Stænger on the way home as well, because I’m quite cosmopolitan like that.
  4. Why are we looking at central midfielders when we brought Forshaw in? He’s garbage, I think we’re all agreed, but why waste the money, the effort, the time and the registration place on him at all, if we were always going to be looking for another one? It wasn’t hard to shuffle the team around until players were back, less than ideal, but needs must. We’ve got kids we could’ve played and been at least as useful as Forshaw has proven so far. Squad planning is surely the first port of call for recruitment. Why have they failed so badly here? players requiring registration that could do a job at CM/DM after the window: Trav, Sonny, JRC, Buckley, Forshaw, Sanderson, Cantwell, Weimann, McDonnell (new from L’pool) Depth of 9 for two positions, nice one, great job, pick your cheque up and back to eating play-doh, you fucking morons.
  5. I’d say more attractive as he’ll get more minutes here than at Sunderland. I like Danns from the two occasions I’ve seen him play, but both were against “weaker” opposition in the FA Cup, which is a different proposition than week in week out in the championship. Even still, he looks like he’s got the thing you need to be a player at the top level. Would be an excellent signing.
  6. Is it just me not seeing how Mohamed fits into our side? Could see him being very effective elsewhere in the Championship, but a lot of goals from corners, his own direct free kicks and flat crosses from deep. Brittain especially has started getting those crosses in more regularly, but the general quality of our crosses has been quite poor for a while. Corners have improved a bit in the past few weeks, but that’s probably from the batshit routines we’ve come up with (which I like, but are still batshit). We really don’t win free kicks around the edge of the box, either. The more impressive (to me) goals on the break - maybe, but I struggle to see him afforded as much space against a lot of sides. He has a hell of a shot on him, looks very strong and a good touch, but looks like a player that works a lot better for a different side. Lots of chat in the general football discourse about January signings needing to hit the ground running. Wouldn’t mind us looking again in the summer, but with the amount of adjustment he’d have to make and it having just turned pride month, could see this going sour quickly.
  7. Genuinely thrilled for him that he’s finding form. Assuming we have the standard year option, we should be looking to tie him down if his form continues for Orient.
  8. I’ve read in this thread that Suhail was crowing in the lounges about Thomas-Asante due to do a medical with us during the Portsmouth game. Don’t know if that’s true, but how a Rovers fan could hear that guy utter a word and not launch him through the lounge windows is beyond me. Suhail Pasha is - from as far as I can tell - about 80% responsible for where we are. The guy appears to have sourced and facilitated the deal via Kentaro. I think our owners are abhorrent, but I think he’s really the root cause of the drawn out death that’s happening to the club. @Herbie6590 very much right that he’s the one telling the owners not to spend. We’ve got a glorified orange juice salesman eyeing up a further 10+ years of salary, bonuses and basking in the reflected “glamour” from (in his own words) his “work in the M&A side of the Sports Business.” Reader, he brokered one deal and he’s still running the operations of that failed endeavour, hitting a distinctly mediocre note for over ten years of direct involvement. The guy shouldn’t feel welcome at Ewood and for each fan rubbing shoulders and listening doe-eyed to whatever fantasy he’s regaling you with, consider yourself redundant, you’re an enabler.
  9. Liam Manning giving it the big ‘un with the fist pumps to the home end after watching his team luck out and offer basically nothing all game is funny. Absolute nothing club, Bristol City.
  10. Eustace a bit naive to try and bring four on so late and end up frozen out by Bristol City holding onto the ball for five minutes. Gone from max 15 minutes to influence the game to max ten.
  11. Staggering they’re not picking up bookings. It’s difficult to look at these performances from referees and not assume they’re either corrupt or just not cut out to make the correct decisions. Availability of betting markets for yellows etc always casts doubt on ones like this. So easy to sneak a weird statistic through. Pears woeful at his near post. Totally against run of play, as well.
  12. Gueye definitely looked a lot more of a Championship-level striker the last few games.
  13. Anyone else’s stream down and also only got Warren commentating? What happened to Neal?
  14. Markanday (debut?) goal at Leyton Orient. Embarrassing mistake from Bristol City keeper, two players have a tap in and both bugger it up.
  15. Every ball into the box has been garbage, low, to Dolan, with Gueye trying to peel away at the back stick. Almost as though nobody thinks about or discusses what we do in a wide situation, with the ball.
  16. Good free kick, but still should’ve been comfortable for Pears, really. Not sure if he was unsighted by his wall, but that’s on him, really.
  17. Pragmatic in the circumstances. Not the easiest of away trips, I wouldn’t mind a clean sheet here, even if it’s a draw. Don't hate the lineup, do hate everyone above Eustace currently not doing their job properly. If someone in hospitality in the next few matches could give Waggott, Pasha and Gestede a piece of their mind/polite slap, that would be appreciated.
  18. Think he could develop this more, he often looks a bit flustered in the final third but with a bit more time to think, he’s done well there. Just needs more experience doing it.
  19. Staggering we’ve lost this. Coventry have done nowt and looked like they were on the ropes after the change of shape. But there’re a lot of tired (and now injured) players in our squad. How Waggott walks freely around Ewood, I’ve no idea.
  20. Trying to work out who Forshaw reminds me of and it’s a really shit, late-stage Jordan Henderson. Absolutely nothing with the ball, doesn’t fancy getting into tackles and can’t be relied upon to move it more than ten yards.
  21. Yeah, I’ve noticed that. “Well, this calf strain was very manageable when we were winning six on the bounce, but it is quite sore now we’ve one win in seven and are two down at home.”
  22. We were as bad for it under JDT. I assumed it was training then, but I now assume we just have an injury-prone squad.
  23. Absolutely battering them here. They should be four or five down.
