  1. Like anything in life, Brereton is only worth what someone is prepared to pay at that point in time. Economics 101. If the biggest offer we got was 10m, then that's what he's worth. Come January, he'll likely be worth even less.
  2. I'm happy with JDT's '3 window' statement. At least that's a commitment, and a refreshing change from 10+ windows which took us on the road to nowhere.
  3. Every now and then you go to an away game that makes it all worthwhile. Tonight was one of those games. What a fabulous display, backed by a great Rovers following. It felt like that stand was going to collapse when we scored!
  4. I'd be disappointed if Buckley starts ahead of him at Blackpool. He embarassed Buckley with that second half display v Stoke; a total contrast to Buckley's first half 'display'.
  5. I'm going to this so I've got my positive head on. 2-0 Rovers
  6. Buckley was absolutely woeful yesterday with an attitude to match. The first half needed players to step up; he stepped down.
  7. Totally agree with this. The players aren't technically good enough to play this pass-it-out from-the-back lark. All that faffing about in the first half reminded me of Swansea at Ewood last season - a disaster waiting to happen. That's on the manager.
  8. ..or increase revenue (ticket sales, sponsorships etc.) But to do that, we'd need an effective CEO and commercial department.
  9. Contrary to post-match dismissive comments of Annesley in some quarters, and a lack of physicality admittedly made by myself, the opposite transpired. A well contested game between 2 sides looking to win, no small amount of hard tackles being made, and some lovely passing play by our youngsters notably Wharton and Morton, made for a really good game to watch. Fair play to Bradford and their fans also for backing their side. The atmosphere they created reminded me a little of Blackpool away last season.
  10. Enjoyable night out with a decent Rovers following. Morton was my MOTM. Very composed.
  11. The Bradford game tonight reminded me of the Mackay era. I remember playing Bradford at Ewood when Archibald played. The BBE gates were shut way before kick off, so we ended up in the DE with the visitors. Those were great days watching the Rovers.
  12. Eek. There's no physicality in that side whatsoever.
  13. So we still need replacements for.... JPVH Lenihan Giles Johnson Rothwell Khadra ...just to stand still from last season
  14. The vast majority of us can see it. JDT is hinting as such. As it stands, this squad is bottom 6 and likely relegation fodder. Let's hope that those above can see it too.
  15. When does 'perhaps panic a bit' change to 'run for the hills'?
  16. I decided to get tickets for this as I've not been to Valley Parade for about 30 years. A win is vital - however we do it - to avoid a confidence drain. We can't be risking Ayala; without him we'd be totally goosed in defence.
  17. Our lack of quality and depth prompts me to fear another heavy loss. 3-0 Blades.
  18. Man of the match for me by a mile. Proper footballer, that lad.
  19. Burnley's next game is Watford mate, if that's what's thrown you.
  20. He just doesn't care as long as he meets his low level financial targets. That's why he has to go. He's strangling the club.
  21. They're possibly giving Markanday a full game to get his match fitness up. He won't get that sitting on the bench.
  22. Give me a player who can pass the ball through a defemce, vesus one who can dribble through a defence, any day. The former will be more successful than the latter, every time.
