  1. Ash Phillips has played the grand total of ELEVEN U23 league games. It amazes me how many people claim to have seen him play lots of games, and believe him to be the next Bobby Moore. Give the lad a chance.
  2. Totally agree, but it has to be used sensibly. Throwing 3 or 4 straight into the first team team and crossing fingers and toes, is not sensible.
  3. Ash Phillps has hardly played for the U23s, let alone to be relied upon for the hustle and bustle of a Championship season. That's fanciful thinking. He needs to be playing games, either with the U23's or being loaned out to gain experience to prove his potential. There's no point him hanging about our 1st team squad just to, at best, sit on the bench.
  4. Spot on @Mercer. Those players you listed simply aren't good enough, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility that we'll be relying on some of them to start games. That would equal a relegation battle IMO.
  5. If Davies is true, then I suspect that Ayala is off.
  6. They may well be, but we don't really know, so it would be a massive risk. Needs some experience in there IMO.
  7. With the squad depth as it is, anything above 8th (bottom) would be a success.
  8. If something happens to both Buckley and Travis, then the midfield would be Wharton & Garrett. Far too risky.
  9. I popped down to Ewood before the game yesterday and picked up a shirt for my daughter. Much nicer than the photos suggest. I quite like it.
  10. I got a pint and a bottle of water for £4.50. That would have cost 7 quid or so in Waggot land.
  11. Can anyone recommend places to park in Accrington on Saturday for the game? Thanks.
  12. The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
  13. I ended up buying a couple of tickets in the Accy home end behind the goal. There was only a handful of single seats left anywhere.
  14. Yep. As it stands, that's a bottom 6 squad.
  15. It's really interesting what you did. Hats off to you!!!!
  16. As with all people, I judge Waggot on what he does, not on what he says he's going to do. On entering Ewood against QPR, I fully expect to still see rust everywhere, paint flaking off stair rails, turnstiles not open, refreshment kiosks shut, and an exorbitant price list.
  17. That's the bit I doubt, I think it's too big a number. Either way, we're roughly where we were last season.
  18. Our switched on commercial team will certainly know exactly what the numbers are ..... renewed, lost, new. Or perhaps not.
  19. I don't believe that we've lost 2,000 ST holders from last year and gained the same in new customers. That's too big a 'churn' number IMO Alternate theory is that a good number of those missing 2k simply renewed and moved seats, hence were included in Gooze's stats all along.
  20. That doesn't make any sense to me. Give or take the 'churn', I suspect that the vast majority who had a season ticket last season have renewed.
  21. A meeting to talk about what? Pitch improvements?
  22. ...or because it's not much more than the bare minimum expected of a tier 2 professional football club.
  23. I read an article on Bolton's season ticket sales earlier. Their CEO is hoping for 14,000.
