  1. He's been stuck at charnock Richard since deadline day.
  2. There's no reason why if it goes through he can't play a part on Monday. Even if off the bench. He'll be match fit and eager to get some game time. I just hope we find out one way or the other by Monday 😂
  3. Let's be honest it's a domino affect. If west Brom pursued O'Brien he'd be there, then Sheffield united were interested. Until they decided they weren't selling Berge. We were the third choice so obviously had to wait. Just hope it got done. I do agree we needed a striker too. And reading jdts comments last night it sounds like he agrees. Along the lines of we played well but struggled putting the ball in the net.
  4. O'Brien and Travis actually bossing the midfield. Diaz and Thomas running and passing defenders. Just need a goal scorer, come on get it done.
  5. Can anyone remember last January deadline day who were we linked too? I remember dembele instead went to Bournemouth. Who were the other names, who we let's be honest had no chance of getting.
  6. Yeah cook will be on say 25k a week after a promotion rise this season. The only way we get him is if other clubs won't pay his full wages either. But stoke have just sold their best defender so...
  7. Do we have a style? He can play the ball better than any of our current defenders which we seem to be adamant on doing for 90% of a game. So yeah, him and hyam would be a solid pairing for this league. You could even add Wharton into that, because he was brilliant last season in a back three.
  8. Steve cook class at this level was one of the reasons behind forest's turn around last season. Not getting anywhere near that squad now and probably won't be registered after the deadline. He would be an amazing if not essential signing and surely could be done on the cheap.
  9. Yeah I don't get that the play offs aren't the focus. Every club in this league barring maybe the teams that come up, should be aiming to sneak into the play offs if they can.
  10. For me dack was at his best playing off graham. Unfortunately Gallagher just isn't good enough despite his size and age. A big commanding striker needed to hold up the ball. We always struggle getting further up the pitch and breaking out. Other than Diaz who runs but just isn't at it at the minute. We're also desperate for a shit house midfielder who will put a shift in. Fingers crossed for a busy day but I'm thinking already I'm doing to be disappointed.
  11. He had one decent season with Villa about five years back. Let's not get too carried away.
  12. I wouldn't be devastated if he went. I was as excited as anyone knowing how good of a player he was. I thought attacking and exciting football. Neither of which we do. If anything the squad he has inherited has gotten worse than last season. Seven months or so into 'the experiment' we should have an identity and style. Again neither of which we do. I don't think he's done anything to warrant backing from the owners. We could be top of the league though and they'd still be the same. The only thing that concerns me is if he went, who would we get? That would out up with this circus of a club?
  13. Is that first bit not the start of love will tear us apart?
  14. Lucas Joao is two years too late. We need to go the Armstrong route buy cheap with a sell on clause. Has a good season or so here and gets a move. Atleast we benefit from it and might actually get some return on our investment. If we could do that and have continued success doing it, we might actually be an appealing option for players.
  15. If they didn't do it last season, there's no chance they'll do it this time around when the gap to automatics is so huge. If they had any drive or ambition then was the time to show it.
  16. Wasn't at that game but was he worse than Bradley Johnson as the false nine?
  17. We ruined Ryan Giles who I was made up with when we signed him. Let's hope he fairs better.
  18. Jdt knows more than any of us and let's not forget, whatever we think of him so far as manager he was a class striker. He'd know more than anyone if gally is capable. I'd like to think so and maybe he will get played more central, if the focus becomes on getting crosses in the box. He's shown glimpses of really being up for games and getting about. His size he should be an absolute nightmare in this league. Who knows maybe he will end up playing more up top. Or even if not he's an option to have. On the set piece situation, I think especially last season when we had three tall centre backs. That should've one hundred percent been our focus. Less so this season but we already know hyam and Wharton love a header. We should definitely score from more set pieces hopefully this is the start of that.
  19. I was taking the piss. As it's my surname and people always spell it O'Brian.
  20. I think that's more down to off the pitch than on. Why he can't get in the side from the sounds of it. You're also failing to include the fact he has got 18 assists in those 70 games. Six of which are this season in that same struggling side.
  21. He's better than all three of them. For a start. It's a deal out of the blue because he's been frozen out at Huddersfield. Similar to what I was saying a month ago about Dack being reunited with mowbray. He's come back into the fold thankfully and is getting back to his best. If it wouldn't of gone that way I can guarantee clubs would've took a punt on dack.
  22. Yeah but if he comes in and does a job it benefits him and us. Whether that is here next season or not. Remember when we signed brererton initially on loan and the future fee was seven million and none of us could believe it. Same with hirst just be glad that wasnt the same type of deal and we had to keep him and pay at the end of the season. There is no guarantees what could or should happen next season. We could potentially go up. Then would we want him here permanently or would we be looking at someone to keep us up. Other side of it we don't go up and haven't committed to spending money. Huddersfield go down and he is available at a cut price and has no intention of playing on league one after having a decent loan spell here. There's so many potentials between now and the end of the season. The most important of which right now is improving our squad which he no doubt does.
  23. If we go up or even finish top six there is a very real possiblity we could sign him. Why wouldn't there be? Especially if Huddersfield go down. Let's just see how he gets on first before people complain about no future fee agreed. Jesus Christ 🫠
