  1. If they didn't do it last season, there's no chance they'll do it this time around when the gap to automatics is so huge. If they had any drive or ambition then was the time to show it.
  2. Wasn't at that game but was he worse than Bradley Johnson as the false nine?
  3. We ruined Ryan Giles who I was made up with when we signed him. Let's hope he fairs better.
  4. Jdt knows more than any of us and let's not forget, whatever we think of him so far as manager he was a class striker. He'd know more than anyone if gally is capable. I'd like to think so and maybe he will get played more central, if the focus becomes on getting crosses in the box. He's shown glimpses of really being up for games and getting about. His size he should be an absolute nightmare in this league. Who knows maybe he will end up playing more up top. Or even if not he's an option to have. On the set piece situation, I think especially last season when we had three tall centre backs. That should've one hundred percent been our focus. Less so this season but we already know hyam and Wharton love a header. We should definitely score from more set pieces hopefully this is the start of that.
  5. I was taking the piss. As it's my surname and people always spell it O'Brian.
  6. Might as well use the correct spelling too
  7. I think that's more down to off the pitch than on. Why he can't get in the side from the sounds of it. You're also failing to include the fact he has got 18 assists in those 70 games. Six of which are this season in that same struggling side.
  8. He's better than all three of them. For a start. It's a deal out of the blue because he's been frozen out at Huddersfield. Similar to what I was saying a month ago about Dack being reunited with mowbray. He's come back into the fold thankfully and is getting back to his best. If it wouldn't of gone that way I can guarantee clubs would've took a punt on dack.
  9. Yeah but if he comes in and does a job it benefits him and us. Whether that is here next season or not. Remember when we signed brererton initially on loan and the future fee was seven million and none of us could believe it. Same with hirst just be glad that wasnt the same type of deal and we had to keep him and pay at the end of the season. There is no guarantees what could or should happen next season. We could potentially go up. Then would we want him here permanently or would we be looking at someone to keep us up. Other side of it we don't go up and haven't committed to spending money. Huddersfield go down and he is available at a cut price and has no intention of playing on league one after having a decent loan spell here. There's so many potentials between now and the end of the season. The most important of which right now is improving our squad which he no doubt does.
  10. If we go up or even finish top six there is a very real possiblity we could sign him. Why wouldn't there be? Especially if Huddersfield go down. Let's just see how he gets on first before people complain about no future fee agreed. Jesus Christ 🫠
  11. This is exactly the type of signing we should be going for. Proven at this level and very unlucky not to he playing in the premier league with Huddersfield this season. Would people rather us get another kid from a premier league side? We give him a chance he does well so gets a run at his parent xlub or a move to a bigger championship side? But has absolutely no intention of signing for us. Or this where there is a very real possiblity if it went well we could get him signed on a permanent deal? No brainer.
  12. I mean the hirst deal, the mola deal, szmodics as well liked as he is is a back up to dack. Brittain I really like hope he can get a good run of games. And hyam is a huge improvement on Lenihan. Other than those two however none of the other signings have paid off or improved us. They were never going to. Mola came in and couldn't get in the starting 11. Hirst they gave a few starts to and he soon proved he wasn't up to it.
  13. I think people are getting too hung up on which position we should be prioritising. We spent all summer buying squad players who haven't really worked out. If we can get a player in who walks into our starting 11 and improves us. And the right deal can be done we should do it. Especially when we are somehow still in the top six despite a huge slump. A few new faces might add a bit of impetuous we go on a run and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE beat the dingles.
  14. I don't mind szmodics although we definitely over paid. He seems like a good lad and gives his all. As for sorba there is definitely a player in there. We are desperate for a bit of pace but with an end product. The number of assists he's got would suggest he has it. If he's a bit cocky and brash good. We could do with some in that changing room and aslong as he backs it up. I dont care how much of a tit he acts.
  15. With George hirst we were paying his full 10k a week wages. So there's at least that free in wages if not more. There's plenty of decent strikers out there on 10k or less. Gelhardt would be my first choice but we will see.
  16. Rumour or not I would stick with Travis. Unless we got a really good offer of course. He's had a bit of bad run but he has been brilliant for the most part since breaking into the first team. I think he'll benefit from the time out of the side just like Dack did. He couldn't get on the pitch at one point and now is arguably our most important player.
  17. It's an absolute shit show and once again we'll be scrambling on deadline day picking up what we can. Imagine being linked with a player, making an approach and signing him. We get linked, hear nothing for days then another team come in and sign them 😂. Wheres the fucking sticker book?
  18. Against the run of play and then hung on. I didn't watch but I was waiting for it finish 3-1 as soon as Ayala went off. I'm grateful for anything at the minute.
  19. To not capitulate after conceding and going a goal down. It's not great but it's something. How shit must you be we're drawing away!
  20. Yeah regardless of how his rovers career started. The fact we spent SEVEN MILLION POUNDS on him should've been enough to make sure that he didn't leave on a free. Or that his contract could just be ran down. He should've been tied down well before entering the last year of his deal. With the one year option (which I know he originally had). Regardless of how he was playing or the form he was in. I think people get so hung up on how much we could've got or the fact he could leave on a free. This isn't like Lenihan, rothwell or nyambe were they came through the academy or cost only 500k. We invested a huge amount in signing this player. Only for him to leave on a free despite the bad start. It's absolute insanity. We aren't man city.
  21. Just imagine if he'd of scored 20 goals by Christmas like he did last season. They'd be queing up to take him to the premier league. As it is his form has dropped considerably over the last few months, at exactly the worst time and as already said left us in limbo.
  22. Exactly. Same reason city signed Carson and united got lee grant. They fill a quota and are emergency back up.
  23. On loan at forest but on about 150k a week. Think they'd rather him gone or they'd of put him in as number one by now.
  24. If you were spurs would you either have Pickford or raya? I think raya would he the cheaper option and I'd say more consistent performer. Fingers crossed he gets a move this window and we see some of it.
  25. Yeah as said previously him having his future set out might actually help him and us on the pitch. He's been off the boil for months now. I doubt it will be agreed before the end of the season, maybe just an offer in principal. While there is any chance at all of us going up, he'd be daft to sign his future away. When he could go on and get promoted, score however many goals and command a better wage/signing on fee.
