  1. With George hirst we were paying his full 10k a week wages. So there's at least that free in wages if not more. There's plenty of decent strikers out there on 10k or less. Gelhardt would be my first choice but we will see.
  2. Rumour or not I would stick with Travis. Unless we got a really good offer of course. He's had a bit of bad run but he has been brilliant for the most part since breaking into the first team. I think he'll benefit from the time out of the side just like Dack did. He couldn't get on the pitch at one point and now is arguably our most important player.
  3. It's an absolute shit show and once again we'll be scrambling on deadline day picking up what we can. Imagine being linked with a player, making an approach and signing him. We get linked, hear nothing for days then another team come in and sign them 😂. Wheres the fucking sticker book?
  4. Against the run of play and then hung on. I didn't watch but I was waiting for it finish 3-1 as soon as Ayala went off. I'm grateful for anything at the minute.
  5. To not capitulate after conceding and going a goal down. It's not great but it's something. How shit must you be we're drawing away!
  6. Yeah regardless of how his rovers career started. The fact we spent SEVEN MILLION POUNDS on him should've been enough to make sure that he didn't leave on a free. Or that his contract could just be ran down. He should've been tied down well before entering the last year of his deal. With the one year option (which I know he originally had). Regardless of how he was playing or the form he was in. I think people get so hung up on how much we could've got or the fact he could leave on a free. This isn't like Lenihan, rothwell or nyambe were they came through the academy or cost only 500k. We invested a huge amount in signing this player. Only for him to leave on a free despite the bad start. It's absolute insanity. We aren't man city.
  7. Just imagine if he'd of scored 20 goals by Christmas like he did last season. They'd be queing up to take him to the premier league. As it is his form has dropped considerably over the last few months, at exactly the worst time and as already said left us in limbo.
  8. Exactly. Same reason city signed Carson and united got lee grant. They fill a quota and are emergency back up.
  9. On loan at forest but on about 150k a week. Think they'd rather him gone or they'd of put him in as number one by now.
  10. If you were spurs would you either have Pickford or raya? I think raya would he the cheaper option and I'd say more consistent performer. Fingers crossed he gets a move this window and we see some of it.
  11. Yeah as said previously him having his future set out might actually help him and us on the pitch. He's been off the boil for months now. I doubt it will be agreed before the end of the season, maybe just an offer in principal. While there is any chance at all of us going up, he'd be daft to sign his future away. When he could go on and get promoted, score however many goals and command a better wage/signing on fee.
  12. Surely jdt should be using his connections in Scandinavia to bring players in. I can't see them costing a fortune the only stumbling block might be work permits. We aren't linked with any. Even on loan surely he must know a few wonder kids out there. Similar to when nuno went to wolves and the Portuguese revolution began. I'm not saying we are anywhere near wolves or have their backing by the way.
  13. Football is the few hours in the pub before. A laugh with my mates and the actual football is very much secondary at the minute. If I hadn't already got a season ticket I certainly wouldn't be getting tickets. I miss the day out over the summer so will renew no doubt. Sick of it again by Christmas 😂
  14. There's a few Scottish lads out in serie a at the minute. Can't blame him if choose to aswell. Don't think a defender is a priority right now but he's definitely a good player. If a deal can be done.
  15. Yeah we wouldn't get much if anything for bbd from abroad. The only ones we'd get a decent amount off would be a desperate premier league side. Can't see it at the minute.
  16. Bang on. If we were playing well and getting beat by the odd goal. Or hammering teams but getting caught with a sucker punch. Atleast it'd be good to watch. The other style would be being defensively solid and etching out games 1-0 but doing it consistently and being hard to beat. We do neither and I've never looked less forward to going to the football as I have this season. For me and I know it's been said a thousand times since. To try and go to turf moor and out football the best footballing side in the division was ridiculous. And alarm bells have been ringing ever since. I fear that no matter how bad it gets the club won't sack jdt. Mainly due to a lack of interest in the football side of things from the people who matter. Also of it would cost money to get rid and get a replacement in. It really reminds me of working for the nhs. If he can do it for cheap and cope whilst reducing the budget and not spending anything. The board will be happy to let this go on for longer than I'd bet any other club in the championship.
  17. Its just painful to watch at times this season. We haven't even got the squad to make changes. So play badly and move on, start the next game. Where is the reaction to playing so badly? There isn't we just play again and see if we win. I don't know what style of football we are supposed to be playing? Keep it at the back do fuck all with it. Play it forward and our attackers lose it on the half way line and we're immediately under pressure. Have we even equalised this season? Never mind turned a game around. It's getting boring and I don't care if we're still in the top six. There is a way of losing a game and we are spinless. The number of times we have gone behind this season and completely capitulated. Is ridiculous. Against bad sides too. I don't care what anyone says we went on bad runs with mowbray. We never rolled over like we have a number of times this season. Since the burnley game we've been abysmal for the most part.
  18. I feel sorry for mola he was thrown in against Burnley and certainly wasn't the worst player that day. He's been played as and when needed in a number of different positions/roles. I think he's better as a centre back than a fullback personally.
  19. Yeah I'd of liked him here but not sure how well he's done this season at stoke. It's a bit of a coincidence that he's left the day after his dad did. Surely he can't follow his dad around and should forge his own career. Edit - while we're on about players from man city. Maybe we should look into Cole palmer. Can't see him getting much game time now they're out of the league cup.
  20. That is my main point 😂 it's brilliant and certainly papers over the cracks.
  21. He'd have to do a better and more consistent job then if that's what he wants. I'm all for him using us as a stepping stone if it means we have some success. Nothing I've seen so far suggests he is going to be an elite/top level manager. When its good it's really good but some of these defeats so far this season have been shocking. Even the games we are winning at the moment are by the odd goal. How we are third I've no idea and it gives me hope, how far we could go if we put a run together.
  22. Yeah cantwell would be a risk same as any signing. His wages would surely be a stumbling block. He would fit the mould of buy cheap and sell on for profit. He is still young enough to do well here and earn a move to a bigger club.
  23. I don't think so either going forward but to be boring how many of rothwells runs or balls into the box actually amounted to anything? Szmodics already got three goals and an assist and has only started about half the games so far. Again I'm not defending him because I'm not full convinced but rothwell although good to watch never really contributed.
  24. I like Brittain too when he's been fit. Looks good value and can actually get forward. So a step up from nyambe. Hyam as disappointed as we all were to lose Lenihan, for me a is considerably better all round defender. Signing of the season for us (so far). The jury is still out on szmodics, whether he is as good as rothwell remains to be seen. I think rothwell is better going forward but szmodics has more to how overall game. He might not be as exciting to watch but he's certainly an option.
  25. What makes you so confident we'd see any of the money, if he was sold? Maybe a tenth of it like with Armstrong.
