  1. You've got to admire the way they advise the fans not to stay in Bristol a good week or so after everyone's booked their hotels. I suppose we could organise a mini-bus or something. thats not very good news is it!!! At least there's a bus replacement. minibus/coach may be the best option tho.
  2. We're going down on the Friday.....should definately arrange something. Who knows the area though? Should arrange a meet up on friday night in bristol followed by hurling abuse at the FA (F*****G A***S) for the stupid kick off time!!! theres something that both sets of fans can get involved in!
  3. On the subject of Dickov not being fit...imagine my suprise when i read he is meeting up with the Scotland squad next week...why?! FFS! He needs rest, end of story!!
  4. We're going down on the Friday.....should definately arrange something. Who knows the area though?
  5. i really cant understand why anyone would think Hughes didnt do a good job at Wales. He took them from being the joke of international football to nearly qualifying for the Euro Champs (which they should've imo). To be honest Wales will do nothing under Toshack! How he can be criticised for using the more experienced players is beyond me....they were better than the younger ones end of story. You play your best team if you want to win, thats what he did!! I think the fact that the job Hughes did at Wales was applauded by other managers speaks for itself! Toshack is talking @#/? again and everyone knows it! The guys a joke!
  6. The fact that ferguson doesn't play for us any more doesnt bother me because i feel we have a better replacement in Savage...and given time The Axe....it is the manner of which he left which really p!sses me off!
  7. well he said he wanted to win things and he has...must be nice knowing that all you have to do is turn up and you'll get to lift the cup...how can he get any satisfaction from it tho?! Not like we'll have when we've earned our place in the FA cup final.
  8. To be fair Dickov might actually be what we need right now, however he is certainly not what we will need next season. He does not belong in a top 10 team...which is surely where we should be next season given the budget Hughes has to work with.
  9. although i'm not particlualy keen on Earnshaw, he has scored 13 goals this season for arguably the worst team in the league.
  10. i like the look of Gera, he's still pretty young aswell isn't he? and the captain of his country?! plus he can play down the middle or and the right of midfield. As for Keane/Bellamy/Earnshaw.....we could probably only afford one of these, i'd go for one of the first two. However, the guy who sits next to me knows gally's family and he said gally's been telling everyone he's off to sunderland in the summer! So maybe two of those three!
  11. Before you accuse our (rightful) captain of having a bad attitude, you might want to know that he had a virus. you've got to be joking?! what makes him captains material then? Dont let the fact that you like the guy cloud your judgement...he's lazy and not a team player. There must be six or seven players who have more of a presence and influence over the team than Thompson does, so why is he the (rightful) Captain? please enlighten me.
  12. Halls would be more than welcome....my mate's a stoke fan and he says he's way too good for the 1st div. Think Gabbidon would cost a touch more than 500k mind!
  13. one person who i wouldn't mind leaving in the summer is Thompson. With the exception of the Colchester match (and maybe everton) i can't remember seeing him have a good game. Today he was absolutely aweful...he was jogging around letting the game pass him by and when he lost the ball he would simply jogg back instead of trying to win in back. He failed to get a single cross into the danger area, and his passing in general wasn't good. It seems to me that he is totally unfit, and i dont think anyone who was at the game today can object to that, and as all the other players seem to get fitter, he goes backwards. All this points to a bad attitude, and someone who thinks he is better, and more important to the team than he actually is. W e do not need these 'big time charlies' at our club'...especially after what happened during the latter Hodgeson and Brian Kidd era. Niisa's gone too imo.
  14. Warning, I went to Bristol before the Worthy Cup final with 4 other lads and it was an absolute nightmare getting in pubs. Unless you had a West Country twang it was couples only in most pubs. Only need to get into one though. If not, there must be a bar at the hotel! I'm sure Preston Blue could share his expertise on the area and let us know of some places. Student bars would be even better!
  15. he may well be our top scorer but he is definately NOT our best striker. If Stead had played the amount of games the Dickov has, and taken all the penalties, then he would've scored just as many. Take for example the goal Stead scored against Everton, if it was Dickov he wouldn't have scored it...he wouldn't have even had a shot....he would probably have tried to win a freekick instead of doing what he is paid to do and SCORE GOALS!! The fact is that Dickov is not fit, (and generally cr@p!) so why play him? For someone of his level of ability to have any impact in the game he has to be 100%. For all that Hughes has got right so far, his persistence in playing an unfit first division striker is, in my opinion, costing us. I only pray that he is not in our first choice eleven come next season!!
  16. I thought that Nelsen was a colossus again against Liverpool! I lost count of the amount of challenges he won. i'd agree. Except when he went on a bit of a run and left a gaping hole at the back which Baros should have scored from! Propbably the first bad thing he's done since he came though....plus he got away with it so who cares!!
  17. Trains from Bristol go hourly, take 40 minutes and cost £7.30 return, so not a bad bet. cheers. Incidentally, if anyone else is having similar thoughts but cant get down then there's two spare seats in my car (for a small donation! ). Also we'll be going out on the friday night no doubt so if anyone else will be there and wants to meet up for a few beers then let us know!
  18. didn't rovers used to come out to classical music? does anyone know what it was? maybe the same thing as the champions league...then again maybe not!!
  19. is anyone staying over in Bristol on the friday night? Just wondering what transport would be like from there to Cardiff? If not where would be the best place to stay?
  20. i think we will just about sell them all......but i also think that if you want a ticket then you'll get one (one of the few good things about playing in Cardiff!!)
  21. says that their rated as doubtful on bbc. probably end up playing...which is bad news for us!
  22. Not too bad this draw...Newcastle would've been better but at least we didn't get UTD! Remember we have to play them this sat so maybe The Axe could continue the tradition of ending players seasons with a few this sat!! A good performance/result on sat is very important..
  23. i thought that they were very, very disappointing considering the numbers they brought. On the other hand we weren't very loud until the goal went in! Against the big teams in the semi we will undoubtedly raise our game....its the result that matters not the performance! Cant understand why he didn't start stead though!
