i was absolutely amazed at the way espanol approached the game...is it possible that they can be punished by Uefa for their conduct throughout the game? In all honesty they should've had more send off....especially the late tackle on Savage's groin! On the plus side i though Kuqi was outstanding.....first time ive seen him and after what has been said on here i was more than suprised. His movement was excellent and he looked good running at the defenders. Reid was also superb and ran the midfield. Bring on saturday!

The last time i saw sebastien Perez play it was for Galatasaray Vs Liverpool in the CL a few years back!! think he was playing full back aswell. Not sure what he's upto now thought.

On a positive note i dont think England can bat so badly again this series....although i wouldn't put any money on it!! Too many people are being carried by the rest of the team...Vaughn and freddie with the bat were very disappointed. Some of Vaughn decisions in the field were a bit odd aswell and you have to wonder why thorpe isnt in instead of Bell who is too inexperienced to play a major part in this series. Although Pieterson did bat well...his catching was nothing short of atrotious and added nearly 100 runs to the Aussies total. If Clarke had been caught early on then it could have been different. Oh well....England to win 3-1! does the next test start this thursday?

on a side note i dont actually think that winning the first test is so important for England. Obviously it would be nice to win for confidence but i can see the Aussie attack tiring towards the end of the series, especially with the back to back tests and so i think so long as we're still in itby the fourth test then we can definately do it!

i just dont have the confidence in Englands top order to get anwhere near the runs required. The openers and vaughn along with freddy have done absolutely sod all with the bat this summer.....heres hoping they prove me wrong!!

i think hughes will be looking at a short term solution to the 1st striker problem...and ive got a feeling we may still see andy cole in the blue and white again. There arent many better leading men in the prem...and next season we can look to strengthen further with a long term replacement. I'd say we shuld probably forget about McCarthy for now...it would be a pleasant surprise if it happened...but i dont think it will!!

The funny thing about that quote is that he says rovers have the least chance of winning trophies than the other four clubs mentioned....Celtic, Villa, Brum and Everton. Can someone please remind me when the latter three last won anyhting?! All this negative press just makes me more excited about next season.....I'm feeling really positive that we're gonna ram it back down their throats!

the thing that i find quite funny in all this is the ignorance of the fans from other clubs. Saying that he's only here for the money when clearly he would've got more than 30k at Villa/Everton. The other thing that is annoying me about everton is the fact that their fans now believe they are gonna be genuine CL contenders year in year out from now on, when they quite clearly dont have the squad to progress in Europe and the league. I would be genuinely surprised if Everton qualified for any European compititions next season and could quite easily see them in lower mid tabel where their football belongs.

i don't know why everone is being so pessimistic!! we havent done too badly against the lower clubs this season...especially since Hughes came in and if memory serves me correctly the only one we've lost is saints away when the ref was off his tits! come on be a bit more optimistic! Saints win for me tho!
