  1. Interesting dynamic this, they're barely pressing us and we can't seem to cope with time on the ball. Heads go. Bizarre
  2. Travis doing well controlling squad too Prediction for this half is Barnes gets a yellow for what should be a red and pops up with a late winner
  3. Can someone confirm if there is another Wharton brother and if he can play upfront
  4. Although I agree the section about Gally is comical out of context
  5. Poor from Diaz being offside from that pears goal kick. Complete inability to deal with pressure in this team and isn't helped by not having the man power for it. All great having kids come through but can't we have a 6ft 7 one with an asbo come through
  6. Comment earlier in the post in reply to someone commenting how nice it was to see wider demographic in the away end. Along the lines of 'Be better when they take their wives and girlfriends with them though. I expect that's s few generations away yet.' Certainly reads a way but like anything online the tone is lost
  7. Not to rehash the topic as it seems we've moved on from it but both what felt like a positive comment about diversity in the fan base followed by what read like a less positive comment about wives and girlfriends both for me boil down to how the club is being run. How many people who are 20 years old born and raised in a BB post code can afford to regularly go to games at the prices we charge, and moreover how many families can afford to treat our 'family club' as a family day out for the same reason. The tail is Waggot the dog... Wagging sorry
  8. Gutted. Trying to stop myself whining about their dodgy book keeping or some of the decisions. Played very well today but legs are beginning to tire. Need to look at how we will manage a potential play off run given our obvious threadbare side. Watching Phillips and Leonard warm up next to Bogle and sharp for example shows how far off we are. Ah well would've been a nice to have, didn't let ourselves down and there's still light at the end of the tunnel. Thought hedges was solid, Travis great and Thomas a big miss
  9. No more Mopey Mowbray hope we go in knowing we should be there and take the game to them I'm going for conceding early then some grit turnaround from Diaz
  10. He's no slouch , barring attitude problems wasn't he a big spend on a teenager for Liverpool and an 8m transfer to wolves?
  11. Need to come out second half strong Diaz and Brittan on Everyone a step up, don't let their fullbacks on
  12. Open question as I can't be bothered checking but did JDTs striker at Molde also work hard and not score a lot ? Realise Gally has always not scored a lot though
  13. Interesting or alarming statistic here. Carter somehow our only qualifier and arguably out of position doing so
  14. This is complete football manager talk but given theyve lost their star centre back, midfield is relatively lightweight in the saints lad and naff with pearson and their forward line is on paper strong I'd be packing midfield and cutting off supply Wild card for me. Szmodocs for gally, jrc into midfield and Britain right back. Play in their half and dominate the ball
  15. Not the time really to be getting onto Mowbray but 12 months ago (with arguably a better more experienced team on paper) we'd have dwindled into a 2 nil loss and been told were young lads not up to it. What a turnaround
  16. Sorba grafting like he's a youth academy lad from Darwen not a 6 month no option loanee - great
  17. I am claiming that as foresight
  18. Hoping their lack of outright attacking wingers means fullbacks can get more time. Also hope Sammie Dolan Gallagher et al can keep a back 3 busy
  19. On our day I've seen us play as well as anyone Similarly to above too I thought Sheffield turned us over easily away No Mowbray death spiral to speak of I make that a positive, a negative, a positive. 1-0 Rovers
  20. Quick browse or the Leicester forum after we've turned them at home and they seem to be sold on Pears Rankin Costello and Travis and have us as better team (till the 70th minute) Didn't have myself typing those words in that order this time last year
  21. I go on about this but want to see Vale run his socks off here
  22. Dont think Buckley was especially good or especially poor. Think his game will only be benefited by being surrounded by lads who put a shift in (Sammie Travis Dolan gally etc) Hopefully can do so and carry us to Wembley
  23. For me if we are having Costello cut in side which I do think works with the back 4/back 3 shift then surely we play him left back (cutting onto his right - despite the defensive risk) and have Britain at right back to utilize his drive down the wing and crossing ability. May be an issue in that Britain and Thomas play a similar game (both want to beat a man on the outside and play a ball in) however
  24. Fear we've worked out socks of all evening and then subbed on two lads without much graft in them (Vale and Morton) Hope I'm wrong and we get 10 more minutes of good running out of them
