I respectfully disagree with this. Had a great finish to last season, great going forward but thinks there’s a lot that are better than him. Seems to be injured a fair bit and average defensively. I honestly don’t think we will miss him much.

3 seasons Brittain has been here - misses 15 games a season through injury, goes missing when we are up against it defensively and we are getting 3.5 million with a year left on his contract. Normal circumstances good business, but these aren’t normal circumstances. Cheap or no replacement and weaker come the West Brom game.

With all the overseas targets McLoughlin seems like a sensible recruit. Experienced at this level and regularly carries the armband for Hull. Agree with others that it’s strange they are happy to let him leave in their current predicament. Unless they are cash strapped and need money to pay transfer instalments/ salaries

On Brittain. Sign a deal or sell at this point. impressive end to last season, seems to suit Ismael as a manager, perhaps we should’ve tied him down last summer. But I for one was quite critical of him at that point, seemed to be a passenger when us as team where under the pump. Sad to lose him, particularly to a rival, but as many others have stated, we have lost a lot worse and recovered.

You seem to have mis read. I think everyone is aware that they are currently the best we have in that position. My point is I don’t think either are irreplaceable and Tronstad now being a top earner is fair enough, but when he’s 32, legs going and not in the side earning 20k a week there will be many on here saying we need to offload him and he isn’t worth the Theres plenty of clubs throwing money about and I’m sure they’ll both get it. I seem to recall your envy at Hull splashing the cash last summer. Finished well below us and now under an embargo. Ive watched rovers and championship football long enough to know they are both replaceable and it doesn’t almost guarantee relegation by not renewing their contracts.

Am I the only one who thinks Tronstad and Travis are solid but limited championship players who at soon to be aged 30 and 28 respectively aren’t worth offering circa 20k a week for 3 years that they will most certainly get else where?
