2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂

I don’t there’s much room for criticism in the recruitment department. They are coming up with championship level players on a shoe string, not their fault there’s a lack of investment -

I think Al-Sahafi is a decent punt. Only 21 plenty of room to improve. 6 ft 2 and clearly has pace - fits VI’s style. Granted he’s only got 1 full season under his belt, but he only turned 21 in feb- surely rare to have more than that at his age. -

Looks like we are still haggling with Legia over a fee for Kapuadi, polish press reporting he wants to move and is refusing to sign a new deal with them. Fully expect rovers to try and hold their nerve until the end of the window to try get him on the cheap. Apparently the new offer is 300k more than the last one. -

Can’t see a player who’s 27 and knocked about in Eastern Europe for the past 6 years catching the eye of many other clubs can you? Aside from a couple of goals in the conference league last year seems a bit of a no mark. I’m sure his wage demands will be 50% or more less than Danny Batth’s , the lad might turn out decent for us, but hardly had an inspiring career to date that will be catching the eye of other clubs. If Wolves thought he was up to it I’m sure they would’ve parted with the couple of million required by now. -

Convinced it will be Kapaudi when we’ve done everything we can to knock the price down, followed by another overseas forward on the cheap and a couple of premiership loans to buff the squad out. -

Yeah I noticed that, looks like he’s on the move somewhere. I wouldn’t read too much into the fee, 2 million quid split over 3 years on 10k a week with the intention to flog in the next couple of years is low risk. -

Looks like Legia are up sh*t creek and trying to offload whoever they can, can’t imagine he’ll be earning a right lot in the polish league either.. -

Looks like Steve Kapaudi is the left sided centre back they are focusing their attention on, with the stumbling block being Legia owe a 35% sell on. 6 foot 5 french born Congolese international, spent his entire career in Eastern Europe. Scored in Legia Warsaw’s 2-1 win over Chelsea last season. Being reported by a Polish journo on X… -

I think it’s likely to be Pears and Travis to be flogged, Tonstadt and Brittain to stay. Imagine they can’t wait to get Travis’ salary off the books and I reckon Pears will be on a decent whack as well. He came in from Boro under Mowbray -

Saudi lad currently away in the states with the national team. They are playing in Texas on Thursday and again in Nevada on Monday. If we do have an arrangement with his club in place (he fits the bill for our recruitment policy and I think he would probably jump at the chance of the spotlight England offers) then it will most likely be the back end of next week that he becomes available. Will be another low risk signing on low wages. He’s a good age and one decent season in the championship will see his value rise. -

Dutch journalists were saying Trondstadt was a strange signing when he was brought over. Ultimately stats aren’t great if he is a winger but give the lad chance and don’t write him off. We seem to do that with everyone the club brings in recently. Regardless of the penny pinching owners we are still supporters and should wish him the best. -

We have been a team lacking pace and physicality since we got relegated from the premier league. I think bigger stronger and fitter teams are far better to watch. -

46 games. Sure we’ll play plenty of them with 4 at the back, but it appears he wants the option of wing backs -

Ismael recruiting ready to play 3 centre halves. Left sided centre half and De Neve who will most likely play left wing back. Certainly think wing back is Britain’s best position. I’m fairly certain we were linked with Nade a couple of years ago as well. -

The clubs transfer strategy won’t differ from the last few years: Listen to and negotiate any offers for any first team players Offer 1 or 2 experienced players 12 month deals (Batth/Weimann/ Fleck/ McFadzean etc) Spend small fees over a number of instalments for players on low wages from abroad with the potential to be sold on. Bundu won’t happen. He’ll find a club in the champ willing to pay him more than us, and the club won’t give him 3 years at the age of 28. On the balance, Rudy will say the recruitment of Yuki/Gueye/ Toth/Batth/ Kargbo/ Cantwell/ Weimann have been successful. We have gone from relegation fodder to on the brink of the play offs. Yuki/ Cantwell/ Gueye/ Toth and Kargbo won’t have reduced in value and if one has a good year next season, they will be flogged on. I even think they may sell Gueye this time round for a couple of million. -
Agree about Boateng and Boa Morte, but would enjoy Duff. He’s done well in LoI and was a top player. Knows the club and could turn into a top manager.
-
It will be an unknown quantity forward from abroad for a fee or circa a million over a few instalments on bargain basement wages and will be dressed up as something special by the club.
-
That’s unless it’s already down the line and they are in the country. Rumours probably come to light 2/3 days after clubs speak surely
-
It will be the left back and an obscure overseas forward not yet linked with us for a low fee is my bet….
-
Looks like we are after Youan as well if Scottish newspapers are anything to go by. Eustace must want 2 wingers. https://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/hibs/latest-hibs-news/hibs-reject-bid-for-elie-youan-but-braced-for-further-offers-as-efl-suitors-circle-4969260
-
Kargbo is a winger. Full of pace and direct. Whether he can have an impact in the championship or not is a different matter.
-
Possibility of pushing for both Youan and Cissokho? One loan one permanent and a possible exit as well? wouldn’t surprise me, both will be earning relatively low wages at Plymouth and Hibs even if Youan commands a fee, it will be with a view to flogging him on in 18 months.
-
Luis Palma from Celtic might be one to watch. apparently a few championship clubs chasing him and fits the bill of a winger with pace and sounds like he’s being offered around.
-
Cantwell is crying out for players with pace and physicality around him to stretch teams to create him space to play in. At the minute teams can afford to play high and press us because there’s little or no threat going the other way.

West Brom about to sign Al-Hamadi on loan. That’s a decent pick up for them
