  1. The manager would say he’s the most successful since Sir Alf. Nobody else has us got us to a major final.
  2. Good strike from the Dane. All square at this point in the match is fair. We’ve been poor again, such an overrated group of players.
  3. If no-one else is sold how much do you think we’ll spend this summer on new players?
  4. I agree about it being insufficient, I was just posting a best case scenario under the Venksters.
  5. The timing of the Wharton money wasn’t relevant to the point made. I’m just assuming that the first £6m has disappeared into the ether, so there’s £12m left.
  6. Over 6000 sold. I wonder how many we’d sold at the same point last season?
  7. You’re right according to transfermarkt….my mistake. I thought they’d only bought the two strikers and a RB.
  8. Cov sold Gykores and Hamer for about £35m last summer, I think they then spent about half that amount on new players. For a Championship club I think that’s a reasonable policy. So if we take the £12m owed for Wharton and the £5m for Raya then a transfer spend of £9m is not an unreasonable expectation.
  9. The money received since last summer has all gone, swallowed up by running costs. I presume the final 2 installments of the Wharton money have yet to be received. So about £12m still due from sale of Wharton Then there’s the £5m from Raya that presumably will arrive this summer. We’ve spent £100k so far on the lad from Linfield. I’d be surprised if we spent less than £5m. I think even the most pessimistic person should be surprised if we spend less than that.
  10. I hope not, we’d have the slowest defence outside of my local veterans league. There has been Prem interest in him so it wouldn’t surprise me. Also talk of Championship interest in Travis in yesterdays LT
  11. He’s playing for probably the best club side in the world. It’s a lot easier to shine when your team is far better than the opposition as Citeh are most weeks. International football is a different proposition entirely. Serbia were very good at closing down the space. They have technically very god players who make their living at clubs like Juve. They aren’t mugs. And let’s be honest, Foden got roughed up early on and didn’t fancy for the rest of the first half. 2nd half he improved a bit but he was still poor. Compare with Bellingham who also got roughed up but stuck his chest out and gave it back. Proper player.
  12. Fabregas saying it like it is. Some of our players are overhyped.
  13. Southgate’s a cautious coach, but I’m not sure our players are that great, with a few notable exceptions.
  14. Good result against a team with some good players.
  15. It’s international football. It’s not the same as Foden playing a blinder against Burnley or Brentford. As a nation we’ve always overhyped our players. Our players on the whole are no better than Germany, Italy, Spain and France.
  16. Bellingham has been the one and only class act in this match for England.
  17. Shearer’s watching a different match if he thinks TAA did really well.
  18. We’ve got 3 top quality players Bellingham, Saka and Kane - 2 of them are playing well, Kane is anonymous. Apart from that we aren’t amazing. Foden got kicked a couple of times in the first 10 mins and he bottled it for the rest of the half. We don’t offer much else of a threat.
  19. So what’s the expectation for England this tournament? Winners? Finalists? Semis? QFs?
  20. Rio Ferdinand is pissing me off already
  21. They’ve decided enough to let the club spend £100k on a Linfield player.
  22. He said we had a budget for Academy players and we’ve already signed one, so he’s right so far.
  23. He is exactly Pasha’s bitch until it is realised he can’t work miracles and then he will be dispensed with within 18 months.
