TBF Jackson addressed this in a recent podcast. He said that he had to tread more carefully than online national journos so that he can maintain a relationship with the club. He can’t just spew out transfer tittle tattle. He said he won’t put a name out there unless he’s had it confirmed by 2 separate credible sources. He gave an example of a Rovers target he knew earlier in the window before it got picked up elsewhere, but because he’d only had it confirmed by one source he couldn’t put the name out there.

Yeah, I was thinking that might be the problem, but he was never on loan to us, we signed him on a free (took over his old contract?) then he signed a new contract in January ‘24 iirc. So maybe he now qualifies?

I was just adding detail, £500k might well be the figure Nixon is describing as quite low. If he’s worth £40m again in a year or two he might be the bargain of the century!
