I thought we defended well from open play, just not for the two set pieces. Problem was we sat so deep until he made the subs. It didn’t help that Mak, Hedges and JRC all looked knackerecd after 30 mins so we had no ‘out’ ball.

He’s a good player is Hedges, he’s just not an effective winger. we desperately need some pace out wide. Hedges has had so much ball in acres of space and done nowt with it really.

He’s right footed iirc, he’d be cutting back more on to his right. Hedges and Pickering have had quite a few chances to get the ball in for Mak to attack but have fucked it up every time.

It’s a clear tactic to switch play as often as possible which has meant Hedges seeing a lot of the ball. if we signed a quick LW you’d imagine they would have a lot of joy.

And he’ll be nowhere near match fit so a very promising debut.
