Think it was mentioned somewhere that when defending corners Eustace wants 4 players who are good in the air and can attack the ball. Think we had Hyam, Carter and Mak against Derby. The rest are fairly shite. Add in a less than convincing GK and it’s no wonder we are susceptible. Don’t think it was a coincidence that when Big Mak went off we conceded from 2 corners. Eustace used to praise Gally for the job he did defending corners.

Agreed with hindsight, and they had a shocking end to last season, but it’s hard to bin someone off who’s just finished tenth on modest budget.

If you pay £9m for someone and he scores 7 or 8 goala in the Prem from attacking midfield you’ve got yourself an absolute bargain. How many AM’s scored 8 goals in the Prem last season? SS is quick enough, his movement is excellent and he can finish. It’s bizarre nobody else is in for him.

Rovers dictate Szmodics price, not Ipswich or spurious notions of the ‘market’. Ipswich can then decide whether to pay the value we’ve placed on him.
