  1. It’s vital we loan out as many players as possible. I’d imagine Batty has learned and progressed more in the last 2 weeks in L2 than he has in the last 2 years in the academy games.
  2. Top 4 is such a mad answer in the Championship! You don’t qualify for the CL from this league 😉 You meant Top 2, and you’re right, anything less is a massive failure having spent £70m
  3. Never heard of him, clicked on the article saw his picture and thought ‘he’s a centre back’. And so he is! I think they have different shaped heads than other players!
  4. JRC doesn’t have the pace or athleticism to play RB. He’s also not great defensively, but then neither is Brittain, but at least Brittain is capable of getting up the wing and putting a cross in. JRC is out of form and possibly still not properly fit. He lacks the sharpness he had when he was playing really well as a CM last season under both JDT and JE. I think the role JE has for JRC in the current set up is ideal for his skill set (RM who drops into space behind the strikers when we have the ball) but as said he’s out of form and/ or unfit so he was rightfully dropped against Dingles. Interesting side note about Brittain. After the Dingle game when asked about the goal we conceded, JE said the fault lay with us not stopping the cross into the box. That’s a real weakness of Brittain’s. I don’t think it’s any surprise that we were linked with a RB this summer. As for Duru, I’ve not seen enough to comment but he clearly has the pace to be effective going forward. If he can defend better than CB and JRC then I’d imagine he’ll be earmarked for the RB role within a year or two. The club probably wants him out on loan before that though to see how he progresses.
  5. Very short-sighted. At present the CL is a European Super League in all but name. The same clubs qualify for the group stages every year pretty much and therefore get all the money. If the CL was purely for the Champions of each league then the quality of those clubs would increase, simply because they would have access to more resources. Your idea of allowing the top 3 or 4 clubs from the top 4 richest leagues in Europe to control a de facto European Super League, as they do now, is uncompetitive and unfair.
  6. Seems to be an intelligent lad who’s acknowledged that things haven’t gone the way he’d hoped, but also takes some responsibility for that. A rare quality! Looking forward to seeing him play. He’ll be a phenomenal signing at that price if he can recapture his form of a few years ago.
  7. I’m sure you’ll be the first to congratulate Ben if it works out.
  8. Well, some on the BRFCS transfer committee weren’t happy that Eustace had a say at all. He apparently needed to know his place and not get involved in such things.
  9. Not sure he is, RG just says Toth was identified by Benson as a potential signing through use of data. It’s then up to the transfer committee to agree to sign him. Eustace is part of that committee, and gets the final say.
  10. He’s another one totally detached from reality. Waggott Mk 2
  11. Pink shirt, Mafia don?
  12. It would have cost him money to quit which was why he requested to be released from his contract. The club refused in summer 23, then agreed 6 months later.
  13. Daniel Sturridge is a complete bellend
  14. A fair assessment from Parker. He’s certainly more magnanimous than their fans.
  15. Esteve did the fouling and Dolan was clearly onside. You got away with against 10 men, with a squad that cost 10x what ours cost, and with the ref and lineman on your side. Must be a bit worrying really. Lots of financial pressure on the manager to get it right.
  16. I wouldn’t dream of watching season 1, but I can confirm season 2 is comedy gold.
  17. Just started watching Mission to Bonleh 2 Being a football manager appears to involve mainly spouting pseudo philosophical bullshit and then shouting ‘Lets do this boys, come on!’ Kompany is one boring bastard. Pace is just unintentionally hilarious. Episode 2 is where it all starts to fall apart. They start discussing bringing a drummer in cos the atmosphere is so shit. That’s at Boardroom level🤣
  18. That’s what I said😉
  19. The demise of the Dingles has been greatly exaggerated. They have a lot of quality players, as they should have after spending £50m this summer. They will win a lot of points on that basis alone. The real test is if Parker can organise them into a cohesive unit that can grind out results relentlessly week after week. There’s a lot of pressure on them to go straight back up.
